Luke actually owns a T-16, as he wanted to be in the Imperial Academy which is mentioned in A New Hope. He used his T-16 to shoot womp rats as target practice.
Not many people notice, but his full scale T16 is sitting right there in the background when he plays with the toy version. It's the one he used to shoot Womp Rats in Beggar's Canyon.
One of the more underrated LEGO Star Wars sets I’d say! Would love to see a Tusken raider figure with a new head like in the book of boba for the next one!
In legends it's famous for being widely available and it's controls being almost identical to the X-Wing which is why so many civilian pilots could easily join the Alliance and fly against the empire with little training. Also we now know you can bullseye a womp rat with T-16 back home.
I have this set and I remember playing with it A LOT when it came out and I was younger. Something I noticed recently was that the pilot’s helmet in this set has the same markings as the old helmet Luke uses for his lightsaber practice with that training droid on the Falcon in A New Hope.
I think the emblem is a griffin, not a dragon. Not that it really matters. Just some clarification. Also, the Daughter from the Clone Wars turns into the form of a griffin, representing the Light Side of the Force (yes, I had to research that because I did not remember that).
Happy to have this set, it is a great set to go alongside MBS Mos Eisley. (Also I think this is was the first set ever to have the new Tuskegee Raider head mold)
This is one of those extras that LEGO makes for a theme that while it really didn’t need to be made it exist, unlike a lot of other things that we need sets of but hey, who am I to complain! I just keep on buying, I just keep shoveling money towards LEGO hoping it’s not feeding the furnace of the Titanic....don’t want to sound negative!
Great set still remember getting this when it first came out when I was younger one thing for sure the pilot figure is great but unfortunately my figures arm got broken off which is disappointing because I can't even replace it with a new dark red arm because part of it is still lodged in the torso

If you want to put him in without cracking, I suggests using the new seating system with the slide (like in Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter). It is sturdy, yet there is no stud.
id love to see an 18+ style version of the t-16, with a really tiled off and clean build. i think they could go above and beyond with the build at the same scale as luke's model and make a really nice display piece

I always liked the T-16, but was confused about its place in the movies, and were was Luke's? It was always a mystery to me but added to the allure of the vehicle.
i remember seeing this set when I was a kid. Didn't really care for it but since we haven't seen it in such a long time might as well buy it cause will probably never see it again.
I love to see you make a video about my most OG set, as the first set I got was the t-16 sky hopper, and I’m glad my dad gave it as it got me in to Lego Star Wars and with that the whole Star Wars saga. So I really like it that you made a video of this set as it’s bringing up some nostalgia. And I agree with the part that it’s a really underrated set.
5:06 never been a fan of the T-16 Skyhopper until this moment. It looks like a Shark, specifically it reminds me of Sharkpedo from Pokemon. If they were all colored like this with Grey on the top and White on the bottom then I'd always love this thing.

I think it's also well known from the Rogue Squadron series, by anyone who has played it. It is the craft that you fly at your very first mission, when the player learns the controls. A training craft. I think it is only available in the first missions of every entry in that series, which also makes it kind of special.

I got this set from my auntie in 2015 but lost almost all the pieces last week I found the tusken raider so I started looking for what set it came from after this vid I started looking for the pieces and I found most of them

It was one of my first sets of not my first lego set I ever got, I wish I have it now but most of the old sets I had are either destroyed or stolen.

You can also build a supersize t-16 out of the 6211 star destroyer with alternate instructions from Lego.
