Having lived in New York throughout my late teens and early twenties, this song is a special one that feels very personal to me. It is a very New York City song, but it can apply to any hectic place where everybody seems to be dealing with this chaotic life totally fine, except you.
The lyrics seem depressing, but actually the song is not sad, it is about finding the joy in the little things, about changing your perception if you're in a new chaotic environment. This song ended up being a message to myself - maybe you can't always take the time to enjoy little pleasures like you could in a city where the culture might be a little slower, but you can still enjoy little breaks throughout the day and find your own way of having a good time.
