    He needs to forget the Celtics trade, the cavs misfit, the mega contract
    He needs to focus on getting healthy
    He needs to be humble and try to fit in and if Lakers don't get major stars they may give him 25 million for one year to rebuild his value
    I feel like he is carrying with him too many bad feelings about his betrayal to his bad fit and being under paid
    I know he got paid 30 million in last contract but to a average person that's money that should set you up for life. And you will make more than 15 to 20 million per moving forward for next 4 to 6 years so don't worry about the money part

    I don't think Isiah should have said that he won't come off the bench publicly....but man as a Celtics fan I feel for him. Dudes got heart, loves the game of basketball. Its why he called out Kevin Love, its why he was so upset about the trade, its why he called out the Cavs every time they lost. I think a Buy out would be nice, the Spurs or maybe New Orleans could use him. I love Isiah Thomas and I know the Celtics was the perfect situation for him but man he deserves 20 mil a year. This is exactly the storyline that puts Isiah Thomas as the next "star" that seemingly out of nowhere becomes a mid level exception player.

  • @eksentrysyti
    @eksentrysyti 6 лет назад +6

    Lakers didn't trade for IT to keep him on the roster in the first place. They don't care what he can do because he's out the door as soon as the season's over. Lakers traded for IT because his contract's about to expire, so they can dump him to get two max contracts this offseason. IT is the exact opposite of Lonzo Ball. Ball is oversized for a PG and pass-first... like Magic himself. IT is undersized and shoot-first... not the ball-movement style Luke Walton is trying to build.
    IT has these last 30 games or so to show that he can still play. Lakers aren't making the post-season so that is his window. No matter how he plays, IT's out testing free agency in a market that isn't looking for someone like him. Maybe scoring off the bench at best. But IT now has to show he can still shoot, is willing to come off the bench, and isn't going to destroy the locker room.

    IT was a beast last season because Celtics designed a system to play around him. His offense covered for his lack of defense and he had a good defensive system team to cover him. But since he got a bad hip and couldn't have the ball 90% of time, he is just an average player. Also the main issue here is his attitude.

      carlos dupree No, its because of his personality. He has that Floyd Mayweather personality. Except, he hasn't accomplished anything. Floyd is an all time great, and many people still can't his attitude. The other big thing is that basketball, unlike boxing, is a team sport. That me me me attitude won't get you anywhere in a sport that requires a team effort. The last difference is that boxing has weight classes. Basketball does not. So imagine Floyd Mayweather with a bum hip, trying to play basketball. Not gonna be very successful. Not only that, but he ruins chemistry, has no respect for others, refuses to defer to players who are clearly superior, refuses to play defense or take accountability and blames others for things he directly caused, alienates allys, can't even shoot well anymore and is still (in some distorted reality) is demanding a MAX contract??? Poor lil IT.

      the only way he can even come close to having a similar season to the last is if he is completely healthy and goes to a team without stars and become the only offensive option where he can dominate the ball without anyone complaining about it because he is the only offensive option. IT's numbers were greatly exaggerated last year because he was in the same situation that allen iverson was in philadelphia where no one else demanded the ball and he could do whatever he wanted.

      Ok. He is playing with people double his weight. Almost 2 ft. taller that are faster and stronger. He has NO DEFENSE. NONE. He is literally being pushed around on the court. With a bad hip, he is now in danger of a dangerous knee or back injury now. lakers did not WANT him, they just traded for him. He is nearly 30 years old with the hip of a 80 year old with NO GUARANTEED CONTRACT. We are entering the playoffs now, where play will get more intensive as teams try to secure their spot and his agent is already stating he is not going to sit on the bench. And he has Napoleon complex and still upset about what boston did. LOL. He cant get any better being 30 with bad hips in a league with someone that is 6'2 is kinda short. If your curious, go watch a hip replacement surgery on here and then let me know what you think. LOL .

    In other words, lots of defensive players in the NBA (right), suddenly, in fact, very few do, furthermore, simply touch a a grown man and the referees call a foul, all game long, every game, for many years now. NBA is almost entirely about offense, first and foremost. If Isiah can score 20 or more points, he gets between 100-130 million over 5-6 years, betcha.

    And I believe they knew the magnitude of the injury that is why they got rid of him so quickly... The NBA have to investigate this

    Why everybody acting like IT didn’t get paid. Dude still got like $6-7 millions a year, so stop acting like he’s not getting paid. He’s a 5’8 player with a bad hip... he’s not worth a max contract. His style of play is aggressive and his 5’8 frame cannot take the punishment. He’s a constant liability on defense and great teams easily exploit him. When he played against Houston with the Cavs, they constantly switched him onto a big man and Capela was catching east lobs.

    Let’s imagine if Isaiah was still in Boston with his injure hip. That Boston would’ve gave Isaiah time to seriously heal and all that, you mean to tell me that last year Isaiah Thomas who average 29ppg in a system can’t play anymore? Lol yo if Isaiah goes and average 20ppg for the lakers you really think a team looking for a scorer won’t pay him? Not a max contract but a 1 year contract
