Thanks for rubbing it in my face, Mudan. Went there mostly for the Super Nintendo World, queued up and didn't realise you need to book a time slot. The available time was 7 hours away.. I explored the park in my defeated mood and left. Came back to my hotel and cried. Lmao
Yeah. To anyone else reading this to avoid this fate, get the app, get in early, and as soon as you're in scan your entry ticket into the app then book a time slot in mario world.
While I feel sorry for you, You should have known that the more Popular attractions in Japan will need extra attention in terms of entry. Also always good to look up information beforehand. Even themed cafe's you need to secure a spot to visit them. Japan LOVES lotteries and booking things in.
If it make you feel better I saw a lots of big RUclipsr vlog who are in the same situation like you. They end up walking around for 5-7hrs and then only went in for one hour. Gotta grind for the footage I guess. One of them are Alpharad/JadenAnimation. So it's okay, it's your first time in foreign land. Don't feel too bad.
Same thing happened to me first time I went. The only reason I went to Universal was to go in Super Mario land and didn't get in. I got on maybe 2 or 3 rides and just went back to Tokyo.
Fun fact about the 5 minute wait time ride: You need to collect 3 keys from 3 other activities to do the 5 minute wait time ride, but the wait time for the 3 keys is 3 separate 20 - 45 min lines. They essentially created lines to get into the line. The activities were kinda fun though.
Man, I have so many youtube videos in a backlog but I just can't resist watching Mudan daily vlogs. They are too comfy. Also I don't get how you are able to afford any of this, seems way too expensive.
Universal is cool, but I think it also depends alot on when you go there as some rides etc. are seasonal. For example when I went they had a Demon Slayer Ride where you went on a roller coaster with a VR headset strapped to your head and it was basically you on the "Mugen Train" synced up to the actual rollercoaster with Rengoku and the rest fighting and stuff. Then they also had a Monster Hunter World Iceborne VR experience which was really cool. You got a full backpack, VR equipment, picked your weapon and basically went out to hunt a Barioth with a squad of 4. Fully immersed in VR and walking around, best VR experience I've had and as a Monster Hunter fan it was one of the highlights of the park.
the harry potter ride inside hogwarts is a mess at the osaka Universal studios. the whole point of the ride is to wander through the school while waiting however osaka you wait outside the school and are rushed through the actual school. like if you stop to look at anything the staff tells you to move forward. so you miss the entire plot of the ride and any immersion part of the ride. I was totally let down. we literally were in the school for under 5 minutes and had staff rushing us along the whole time.
When we went in the fall of 2015 we did Universal Studios (it was late November and Christmas decorations were everywhere - the big shark had a wreath around its neck) then returned to Tokyo. We had a hotel in Chiba right by the Disney Parks so day 1 was Disney Land, day 2 was Disney Sea. Yeah, they were expensive, but it was kind of a once in a lifetime trip. I enjoyed all three!
I haven't been to USJ since I lived in Osaka in 2017 and it was much cheaper back then! I remember it being around 60-65 USD for a day pass. This was before Nintendo World and most of the anime exhibitions of course. Food was still a bit pricey but cheaper than in the US. HP World is definitely the highlight of the park and the castle ride is really fun! The nighttime stuff they do for Halloween is really cool as well! They had zombie flash mobs with choreographed dances every so often just in the streets. Very fun experience overall but at the current prices I wouldn't go unless I lived locally and it was a special occasion. Absolute bonkers pricing.
I went in 2017 as well when we spent some time in Osaka and I share your sentiment. I don't remember it being so overly expensive! All bigger theme parks are kinda pricey but back then USJ was affordable enough that our group even got a few of the fast passes and also quite a bit of the special merch. Unfortunately, we couldn't get onto the Jurassic Park ride but they had some special Evangelion, Attack on Titan and Monster Hunter stuff going on which we enjoyed a lot. We also saved on food by bringing our own. lol
The flying dinosaur coaster is no joke. The pretzel loop and the other inverse element back to back is pretty intense. Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain has a bigger pretzel loop, but there's only 1.
I'd say Universal Studios in Osaka isn't that special but for me it was worth it just for the Super Nintendo World. Might be small but the design is top notch.
I went to similar rides in Phantasialand in Germany, and it cost me a 38€ to get in... Food was relatively cheap inside. You can buy 20 churros for 20€. Parking was 7€.
Went there last week I mainly went just for all the ado stuff 😂. Bought the merch and played show while riding the back drop ride. And then the namikuma/ado stage performance was cool
@@ginginc In Ghibli Park, only in specific areas like the Ghibli food gallery and the theater. Most of Ghibli Park is a photo op with long queues (e.g. have a photo with No-Face on the train! Have a photo inside the catbus!) with a gift shop at the end. And that's why it's not really worth it. Way too far from Nagoya city center and you need to reserve on a specific date 3 months in advance. Even as a huge Ghibli fan I regretted going there haha.
In June I visited the park with friend and we both agreed that the ride inside Hogwarts Castle was one of the best rides we have had. Very fun experience and just getting through the line from Hogwarts grounds and dungeons up the castle made the wait not so bad. Also huge props for using music from the OG games 🥲
Went to USJ last year, worst 4 hours of my life, only went to see Nintendo World. Stifling hot, 38/39°c. We had to queue 20 mins to reserve a table at a restaurant, all restaurants were like this. The extra money required for a single use wristband to interact with the Nintendo stuff was a joke. Left the park early afternoon, found a banging restaurant hidden in the complex outside the front gate.
It is expensive but heavily enjoyed my time there. The demon slayer ride threw me off because i thought it was like a VR motion sim. Nah that thing was a legit indoor roller coaster with a vr headset strapped to your face.
Like 10 years ago I used to work food service at Universal in California, it was pretty awful and I used most of my shitty wage just on gas getting to and from the park. The newer sections of the California park (Harry Potter, and now I guess Super Mario World though personally I haven't been since they opened it) are much more entertaining with better rides and food than most of the older sections, but the set pieces and the film lot tour are pretty cool. Much too expensive for the price they charge though, its basically as much as Disneyland/California Adventure now for a much more meh experience. Though with Universal, you're near Hollywood and I think you can even take the metro there now.
I love this theme park. The main problem is it's well too packed. That's no way you can enjoy everything in one visit but it's too expensive to go more then once.
Mudan's reaction to USJ is literally similar to mine and my boyfriend's. We were like "why is the popcorn bucket $50?!. Why is the band $50?!?!" And I agree, USJ is like super expensive. Was it worth it... for me yeah cuz i fit all the rides. For my boyfriend, not so much cuz he couldn't fit in half of them.
wondering why driving in since there is a train that stops pretty much right by the park? also tip for future USJ travellers get there early at park open if you can and predownload the USJ app. Got there at 8:30am on a weekday and gates were opened and was able to select a time slot for Nintendo World for around 10am. Reason why is it is a very small space and with so much interest they need to stagger and limit people so it does not become overcrowded in there.
Man that cost per person is really scaring me. I'm in Japan next week and was planning on visiting universal... did not think it would get that expensive
Plan well in advance then you will have a great time. I planned well in advance when visiting USJ earlier in the year. I stayed in budget and got everything I absolutely wanted to do in the first 3 hours and had the best time exploring the park for the remainder of the day.
Super Mario World and Harry Potter have one of the best in-queue experience there is. They really do try to make your time waiting as enjoyable as possible.
I FINALLY CAUGHT UP WITH DAILY MUDAN VLOGS AFTER 2 MONTHS!! (i binged them all) So..... Day 1 of politely asking mudan if i can give him Filipino snacks so he can rate and judge them
The food at Osaka Universal Studios is more expensive than at Tokyo Disneyland. Universal Studios sells annual passes so you can make up for your money if you go three times. Tokyo Disneyland does not offer annual passes. Each has its pros and cons.
Damn they hiked up those prices! I've been there exactly two years ago, even bought a mario wristband, and paid maybe 100k...or I'm misremembering and gaslighting here, and it was a total of 140k..
this park seems like a multi day event... spending a day at 3, maybe 2, sections only and coming back for the rest. 2 if you want to ride the same ride multiple times...

Shinkansen -> subway woulda still been cheaper. Really didn’t need to rent a car / pay for parking if you’re already taking trains But yeah, debatable if worth making an entire trip to Osaka just for USJ. Probably only worth if you’re already visiting
I seriously think mudan is very rich, treating theme park that people might go few times in their life time as a day trip. going into universal studio at 3 in the afternoon (just like what he did with disneysea!) is a luxury for most of us, you missed 6 hours that you can use to ride like almost all of the rides there that you like. you definitely missed chucky haunted house *oh yeah, it is halloween horror night in USJ right now, and it is included in your admission ticket. but this year they only do 1 haunted house and few shows (I am not gonna say chainsaw man as haunted houses). when I was in 2018, it was like 3 haunted houses and 1 show.
Converting yen to cad everytime he said a price kinda hurt. $50 popcorn $50 bands. You're not allowed to have fun unless you drop a month's worth of groceries on it :(
Day 48 of asking Mudan to complete every single prefecture in Japan and Day 31 of telling Mudan to improve his reading speed and study for the JLPT exam. Funny how the Japanese equivalents of the parks feel better than in America.

The editing is so good in these. Really fun to watch.
6:52 that one is also my favorite ride. That ride made me feel like I was flying on my own, rather than being strapped to a car and forced forward.
See, this is why I'd much rather go to Universal Studios than Disney and one of the best theme park videos you've done yet
the harry potter ride inside hogwarts is a mess at the osaka Universal studios. the whole point of the ride is to wander through the school while waiting however osaka you wait outside the school and are rushed through the actual school. like if you stop to look at anything the staff tells you to move forward. so you miss the entire plot of the ride and any immersion part of the ride. Would recommend going to Nagashima Spa Land in Mie prefecture (near Nagoya). They have the longest roller coaster in the world - Steel Dragon 2000
Can confirm going to theme parks with kids is bonkers expensive.
the harry potter world in florida is super awesome too, highly reccomend
Congratz to 100k!
I loved the FFXIV VR rollercoaster they had when I went to USJ, best ride ever!
I recommend you having a hair cut in a Japanese hair salon. It's going to be a nice experience!

5k for popcorn is wild O-o
US type of prices in a movie theater
Your paying for the light up star. It's techincally merchandise. I bet the popcorn is only 700 - 1000yen.
Mudan and themeparks is like peanut butter and jelly. A match made in heaven.
Watching your video editing changes each time really made me look forward to it everyday. Also the length of the video is perfect 🤌🏻

Hey, I was there on sunday. Monday I went to too many places in osaka its crazy
i went to universal studios front gate in 2018. Saw the prices, I nope the fuck out and my lil sis was so mad the whole time
Bro's still grinding videos, good job Mudan
In June I visited the park with friend and we both agreed that the ride inside Hogwarts Castle was one of the best rides we have had. Very fun experience and just getting through the line from Hogwarts grounds and dungeons up the castle made the wait not so bad.

Damn i thought Super Nintendo World was so small from all the videos I've seen. It is fucking massive
I also got giga-motionsickness from that ride, it was a pretty good ride tho
You gotta file a restraining order against Detective Conan
"Its that movie!" nani?
It is expensive but heavily enjoyed my time there. The demon slayer ride threw me off because i thought it was like a VR motion sim. Nah that thing was a legit indoor roller coaster with a vr headset strapped to your face.
Mudan thank you for an excellent video.
Mudan treating these prices like they aren't once in a lifetime experiences for most people

Is the max height for the rides low?
Brah, you gotta go to nagashima spa land and go on steel dragon 2000 next!
S tier video first time i saw mario world in the dark so it was a new experience.
I hate that my mind goes: 5,000 Yen must be around 5.00 bucks
I remember Universal Studios Japan was fun! I'm glad you and babysitter enjoyed it... even though your wallets didn't.
Always nice to see mudan upload
That Jurassic park ride is very similar to tatsu at six flags LA
There is one more major theme park which I'm not sure was mentioned at the beginning, Yomiuriland
The Mariokart ride and the ride in Hogwarts are my favorites. They will be opening a new section soon: Donkey Kong

universal bought the sky fr

skill issue, i went there half the price
If you're still in Kansai, you should go to Hirakata Park
musical episode when tho
You have not yet been to the Ghibli Themepark
You won't see anything on video anyway. Its strictly your eyes only. They won't let your film/photos there. Only designated areas.
this park seems like a multi day event... spending a day at 3, maybe 2, sections only and coming back for the rest. 2 if you want to ride the same ride multiple times...

Super Nintendo world kept getting me to think: how do these things work when it rains?? 😮
2:18 you lucky bastered I waited 3h for this ride and I regretted every second before it and it's 100% not worth it but daim that was good ride
Detective Conan mention
Are you in Osaka now? If so, we recommend teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka and osaka aquarium kaiyukan.
osaka? is it time for ine
Go to Cafe LA in Osaka Mudan!!
Mudans wallet: 💴 🔥😱
Day 48 of asking Mudan to complete every single prefecture in Japan and Day 31 of telling Mudan to improve his reading speed and study for the JLPT exam. Funny how the Japanese equivalents of the parks feel better than in America.
Day 0
Bro needs 4 new jobs just to pay off the credit card debt from the past two vlogs. Still... that Harry Potter section would have been entirely worth the total cost. Thanks, fella~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow? (hopefully something a little easier on the wallet)
Try bouldering, bowling and buy mystery box or build Gundam
mu got scammed by businessman dan
So cool!!
Day forty eight of requesting you get permanent residency.
Seconded.
Day 18 of commenting on Mudan's Vlog: I have to work for about 35,5 hours (almost one week of full time job) just to cover the expences Mudan and Babysitter paid to go to Universal Studios 😮 That's a bit insaine just to entertain yourself 😆
Can you eat 1 million eggs different eggs
Day 2 of asking Mudan zo watch sumo wrestling
skill issue for babysitter =/ does she like other type of roller-coaster? if not she should avoid for her own health.
I don't waste my money on those shitty places 😅
is that cheaper than disneyworld?
Sanrio puroland?
The most trappest of all tourist traps
Ive been here before and in the 12 hours I spent there it was boring the rides were good tho
Day 13 of asking Mudan to host a huge battle royale irl
