- Over the past two years we have shared moments in Podkarpackie that I will treasure for the rest of my life, from reuniting with my long lost family to interviewing the President of the country. In Podkarpackie, I have seen innovation beyond my wildest imagination and enjoyed the type of wild nature that seems to be from a fantasy. I’d like to thank the administration of Podkarpackie and all who we met along the road for helping us open so many doors and make this deeply personal series a possibility.

Niektórzy z moich przodków wyemigrowali do Stanów Zjednoczonych podczas zaborów, nigdy nie znając godności obywatelstwa odzwierciedlającego ich narodowość. Więc 11 listopada 2008 roku, kiedy odzyskałem utracone dziedzictwo mojej rodziny, zostając obywatelem polskim, duma i spokój, które czułem, były nie do opisania. Po pokoleniach zerwanych więzi udało mi się zrealizować największe marzenie mojej babci; ta chwila była prawie tak głęboka, jak narodziny moich córek. W tym kontekście, po latach kontemplacji, 8 listopada 2019 r. na stałe zrzekłem się obywatelstwa Stanów Zjednoczonych, stając się jednym z moim dziedzictwem. Zawsze będę kulturowo amerykański, zawsze będę silnie związany z USA, ale odtąd będę to robić jako dumny Polak. Kiedy zostałem pobłogosławiony obywatelstwem polskim, obiecałem sobie, że zainwestuję wszystko, co mam, żeby być godnym tego honoru, więc moi polscy Przyjaciele, jestem teraz całkowicie wam powierzony, od teraz aż na zawsze.

ENGLISH:
Some of my ancestors immigrated to the USA during the partitions, never knowing the dignity of a citizenship reflective of their nationality. So on the 11th of November 2008, when I reclaimed my family’s lost legacy by becoming a Polish citizen, the pride and peace I felt was indescribable. Following generations of broken ties, I managed to live out my grandmothers greatest fantasy; this moment was nearly as profound as the birth of my daughters. In that context, after years of contemplation, on the 8th of November 2019 I have permanently relinquished my citizenship of the United States, becoming one with my heritage. I will always be culturally American, I will always hold strong ties to the USA, but from now on I will do so as a proud Pole. When I was blessed with Polish citizenship, I promised myself that I would invest everything I have in being worthy of that honour, so my Polish friends, I am now entirely entrusted to you all, from now until forever.

Ryan, naprawdę zrzekłeś się amerykańskiego obywatelstwa? Szacun za to. Zrób o tym cały odcinek, w którym wyjaśnisz szczegóły tej decyzji.
@@pbutter237 I understand and respect that this decision may be difficult for many to imagine, but I am not the type of person to take half measures on my intuition. Most people told me I was crazy when I moved to Poland in 2005, but life has worked out brilliantly as a result. Regarding my kids, they are still US citizens and I imagine they will always be. Concerning the travel to see my family or for business, the Polish passport has access to most of the same countries that the US passport has and can also now visit the USA visa free for up to 30 days for business or tourism. I am still just stunned that you renounced your US citizenship. I've been following you over the past few months as I've been trying to learn Polish and been thinking of moving to Poland myself, but I just can't imagine turning my back on my native country. The story of you moving to Poland, meeting your wife and having kids is and eventually becoming a Polish citizen is a very nice one. If you had to give up your US citizenship to become a Polish citizen, that would be one thing. But, you didn't have to do that. So, why do what you did? It actually hurt me emotionally as American to see you do this.
Because today America hates white people and is trying to get rid of its white people by teaching they’d rather have diversity than an average hard working white family. It’s prevalent in our schools and our media. I understand why someone would not want to live in a country that teaches white genocide as a good thing.
There is only 1 answer mate - taxes. No matter, you working in Poland, Germany, paying taxes, after all, u have 2 pay in US too
Thank you for the comment and taking the time to watch. Many people have had mixed feelings about me giving up my citizenship, which was a decision I came to after many years of contemplation. The privilege of becoming a Polish citizen was something I didn't take lightly. I wanted to feel worthy of my blessings and make a gesture that I believe in Poland until the end no matter what. Does not mean I'm Anti American, my entire family are American, it just means I am never going back. I would not have even announced this decision, it was a personal topic, but the US publishes the names of expatriates so I'd prefer the new to come from me.
