My goodness Alejandro, you simply have music in every cell! I love this piece! Lieder is some of my favorite compositions and this piece is a marvelous nod to Wolf and Richard Strauss. You probably think that I am an extreme flatterer, however I would think if any of the late Romantic lieder composers were alive to hear this they would be more than a little envious. Thanks for sharing your music with the world!
Thank you so much for the wonderful words. I am glad that you like lieder. I worked mostly 2 decades with singers and it's a great environment to get familiar to every repertoire for voice. This lieder is a "Kundiman" is a song form in the Philippines on which the first part is a minor and the second in major. It is also written in 3/4 or any triple meter but indifference with the waltz, the text always on the 2nd beat which creates more feministic ending. The accompaniment Is written with flowing eight notes rather than a quarter. If you want to explore more Kundiman's, you can listen to the music of Nicanor Abelardo and Francisco Santiago. Sadly this art form nowadays are dying and only few writes in this structure.
Congratulations poh Maestro AJ...
