Should the chain be totally put on this stopper after letting go anchor? Or the weight should be distributed between the band brake and the stopper? Many captains believe that there is a high risk of damaging the stopper or at least jumming of the chain by the stopper during bad weather at anchorage and prefer don't use in at all leaving the chain on the brake only after letting go the anchor.
