Well done, Jane, scrambling up that slope. I hope you still got your fish and chips. I sometimes use silicone devices with metal spikes that stretch to fit over the soles of my boots. They’re marketed for snow and ice, but they work well on slippery paths too.
Thank you so much for all your Seaham videos. We visited for the first time this summer and hadn't even heard of seaglass until then! After asking people what they were doing, we perched ourselves down and within minutes had quite a haul. We were hooked! We also went onto blast beach and will definitely be taking a walking stick to help us get down next time. I'm so glad that you explained what the blue 'pebbles' are, I had searched online to no avail so was chuffed to find the info in your video. Thanks again, I hope Jane's back is recovered and, who knows, maybe we'll see you one day on a Seaham beach. p.s. We live in The Netherlands but have already booked to come back next year, it really is addictive!
Ah that’s Amazing 🤩 yes it’s very addictive 🤣 glad you enjoyed your treasure hunting, Seaham is just the best, and the history about it just makes it all the more special, glad you be of help about the boaty blues(slag glass) it is very pretty, did you find any pirate glass(black glass) that is just as beautiful too, hope to bump into you one day sea glass hunting 🫶 happy hunting, and thanks for watching 🫶🤩
They have started to put signs up in the car parks no overnight parking it's really spoilt it for people like us who sleep in the car overnight we can't afford to stay in a hotel or b and b any tips on where we can go now, we loved blast beach Jane did well because that trek up that goat trail terrified me I have a stick and could see myself bombing down on my arse, love watching you both beachcombing thank you
Hi, same issue… so… obviously there’s lots of places roadside in seaham you can park but they aren’t really chill spots… park4night free app has two places close… Hendon and dalden tower… both are great..
Yeah it’s such a shame I don’t know what they expect to achieve from stopping over night parking, have a look on the park 4 night App. Glad you enjoyed watching 🤩🫶
Truly enjoyed coming along on your little adventure with you! What fun! Jane, I have hardware in my back, as well, so I know what you're dealing with. Much love to both of you!
Just catching up on some of your videos. With knowing how it is to get up the slope you did fantastic. So sorry to hear about your back. Hope your on the mend now

I am from Florida tamarac on outskirt of fort lauderdale.
I admire you for tackling the track. I tried the last time i was in Seaham, got down the first bit but the longer bit scared me so had to turn back. 😕. I've been to Sunderland glass centre, there is an exhibit about history of glass but not specifically about Seaham. But its an interesting place where you can watch glass making demonstrations 👌
Ah yeah it is a very scary decent down, next time we will try the path Colin found. Ah thanks for the info on the glass centre, I really don’t understand why Seaham doesn’t have its own museum on it’s history, thanks for watching 🫶
Lovely video, and thank you for sharing. I’ve been to Seaham several times but never ventured down to chemical beach as the way down looks very scary. Hope your back heals and more surgery is not necessary xx
