I have recently felt writing tug on the string of my heart, pleading with me to return to it. I've been writing since I was 8 years old, and have enjoyed it so much, I started writing short stories, poems, and two novels. But when I went through some stuff, and got a job, writing hasn't been part of me, and was pushed out of my life. I am now rewriting a novel that I have been working on for 4 years, and your tips have guided me on this journey, and helped better my writing. Since I definitely consider myself a beginner, there is so much to learn, and I look forward to hearing all you wonderful tips! 🤗
Thank you for this video. For months I've failed at following through a digital detox. I spend almost every waking minute watching RUclips and sometimes Instagram reels. I can tell that I'm not as creative as I used to because of it. I heard someone say that social media addiction is just as bad as being addicted to smoking. And I 110% believe it because of my struggles with trying to take a break from social media. Every time I try I get withdrawal symptoms. I feel bored and I have the urge to just pick up my phone and watch RUclips. You're definitely going in the right direction and I congratulate you for it. Social media addiction is definitely no joke and it's something that we all need to take a step back from.
Even curating what you consume is a challenge since platforms now showing “suggestions” either mixed in with your feed (instagram) or right before it (RUclips, TikTok, etc. I rarely watch TikTok, fortunately 😂)
wow, well done on completing the challenge, truly useful information to give to your fellow writers and audience. So thank you for showing us the benefits, not in general, but specifically as creative individuals...
Writing a novel is possible in a 30 day period. I think people wrote books and stories long before social media, computers, paper notebooks, type writers, and clay tablets.
Do you use discord? If so did you quit that too? I don't really have a community of creatives nearby I can easily go to, my neighborhood full of dogs makes it rather dangerous to go for a stroll, even more dangerous at sunset close to dark as an afab person, sure there's morning but I work until late and the dog are always around How would you go about reccomending that to those who don't have accessibility to the things you went through? I worry about the complete isolation I'd feel if I neglected my online friends for the sake of writing more

It can be a challenge to step away, but it’s worth it. Thanks for watching!
