Theoretically you could drag all zombies to the river where tourists can pick out relatives and shoot them.
I think lights effectively make so much noise because it is to represent the "noticeability" of something suddenly going from dark to bright, as a zombie would probably notice a large light suddenly flashing on. Since they don't have a numerical variable to represent the "shock" factor that happens when a light is first turned on, I think they're just making up for it with the sound variable.
I think if that's the case then thunderstorms should drive zombie populations absolutely bonkers

Didn't know you could select a bunch of clothing at once and select wear and it will put them all on. This is handy for CDDA challenge!

Short Sighted Foraging penalty is entirely countered by just wearing glasses, I forage a lot too and still always take it bc its free 2 points especially when you can just *start* with glasses
You don't even need glasses if you do a grid anyway
The "???" you had while foraging is because that area is missing Zoning for Foraging. Could either report it to the Devs or hope they keep track which areas are not "supported" yet.

"I like your shoes" love it, and as far as TV shows go, I'll watch them if I'm by a TV when it airs but I don't always go out of my way for them as the video store is always an option, and I love foraging now even more as a axeman I forage up a few stone make some axes and pew pew. Going to enjoy this series can't wait for more from my favorite Wildman.

Yeah I found that a bit odd, would think a there would be more out there, can't wait to get a new pc that can handle higher pop's 4x with super sprinters just isn't enough anymore
I was obsessed with watching the tv shows. Almost every playthrough, I wouldn't sleep for the first week, I'd look for skill books read them and watch the tv shows.
Not watching the shows has been liberating.
Mwhaha, see exactly! Although, now that I know that live shows have different exp than the VHS is kind of a bummer. I feel like you shouldn't worry unless you are safe have a tv around, and it happens to be the time the show comes on. Other than that I feel like the skill grind isn't too bad.
Yo with the right pickles, rice and pickles is a fire cheap meal, good for dinner especially. Get the tangy or butter pickles/relish and not the sweet kind and then add a touch of salt/pepper.

Interesting TV habits...I am a slave to alarms and schedules for the first week, if I miss a TV show I pop a friggin' fuse! 😅
I've just found it's way easier not to worry haha. Like if I want carpentry I can just grind making spears for a day. I'm more of an explorer when it comes to games, and when I need the skill I usually just grind it like a Korean MMO xD.
Also, at the start of a 16x you are so preoccupied with survival it hurts. I literally spend days just foraging haha
I disagree with not using fences (I play with fence lunges off cause I think it's annoying) and not watching the TV shows but other than that this guy has great tips! I was always confused how RUclipsrs got the zombies into the Conga line so that tutorial was awesome.

If you don't have lunge on then using fence as a way for total zombie annihilation is fine. It's when people advocate for it with it on that grinds my gears. At the end of the day you play how you want to play. Also, the TV shows are nice and helpful, but during 16x survival is always first and I am often forgetful especially when I can just find the tapes now haha.
Thanks for the feedback though! I try to be thorough with my processes when it comes to games. As a viewer, I've never liked being put to the side when it comes to game mechanics.

Like I tell everyone, you're not going to be "good" at this game until you've had at least 700 hours in it. This is me at over 2k hours lmao. Best thing to do is go at your own pace and master the mechanics

In response for your build critique request, honestly I think the build is fine but I think an improvement would be to swap strong with something you can’t earn. Like some sense.
I never like to pick positive traits that I can earn in game like strength, since I can workout and become strong. Same with negative traits, I like to go with either obese or skinny (honestly mostly skinny) so I can either eat less and manage my eating or just binge eat until I gain reasonable weight. Things like that.
But keen hearing or cat eyes for example I don’t think you can gain. So good choices. Traits like that I love to pick and earn the earnable ones, even if they are quite - strong - heh.
My reasoning for picking strong over something like keen hearing or cat eyes, is that I would rather be able to eliminate any threat off the jump instead of running an even slower monotonous game.
However, now days I would pick keen hearing for example, but it's not crucial especially with my amount of experience. Even after years of not playing the game I can still run 16x like I was grinding the game for months. You should check out the Veteran's Day Charity streams where I dust off the game to do challenge runs and speedruns.

@@Vynxxgaming Fair enough, I wasn’t thinking about the idea of the early game experience, I was thinking of making my builds to maximise my strength late game and manually remove all the negatives early game. Didn’t think about he idea of planning to have a shorter game for fun, and wanting to enjoy the nice traits from spawn lol. Sounds nice xD think I should try a short game build too, maybe this one but I don’t like cigarettes, don’t like the idea of being reliant on an item even if it is common. Wanna gave the ability to chill out in my house with a food stockpile if I like.
I would like to checkout those streams : ) are they in a playlist or something? I’m not really a stream kinda girl usually but watch them on youtube sometimes. I’m not as experienced at zomboid skill wise yet, despite playing for awhile.
I tried spawning over and over dying over and over even when I escaped towns I couldn’t find anywhere safe enough to loot or hide, nevermind the helicopter event I just died 3 more times because I spawned and it was happening.
When it comes to 16x you need to have a plan. PZ map knowledge goes a long way. The best thing to do is go on the map find a house in the middle of nowhere. Walk to it. Scope it out. Clear it in any way possible. Then, expand outwards slowly.
@@Vynxxgaming I tried that and I was doing well recently but I set my sound follow distance to 350 and I came home after a looting run to see I swear atleast 1000 zombies outside my base so I had to run and grab what I could before I died and escaped, then I died trying to retake my old base.

When you watch the VHS of something you saw on TV it gives you the XP, maybe they'll patch it out at some point but for now...
So, each show gives you 70 exp in the subject it gives you. It is better to read the book and get the VHS, but it also is a huge risk in 16x due to the fact that it may take a while to get to a VHS store
Yes read the book before watching the VHS but watch it all 'live' because the game doesn't check if you've seen the episode already, it checks if you've watched the VHS already. You're assuming watching The Cooking Show episode 1 on TV will mean you won't get XP from the VHS of The Cooking Show episode 1. In the current build that assumption is incorrect :)
@@MastaVo Holy balls Batman. I just tested this out. Even though the live shows are out of order. They do have different experience gains. Even though they seem to use the same file for it unless it's somewhere else. This is interesting. Although, I never catch the show live anyways haha. Always found it a waste of worrying when it comes on. I'd much rather grind for exp the Korean MMO way
@@Vynxxgaming No worries, I'm a noob so I need all the free XP I can get :) I found it annoying too until I started extending the time an in-game day takes. Even just 2 hours instead of 1 feels luxurious when you're used to the standard time pressures. My current dude has finally lived long enough and absorbed enough knowledge to build a staircase and hotwire cars but he's ballooned to 93kg from underweight, I'll know next time to check the info panel more regularly :) Any pro gamer tips for losing weight?
@@MastaVo Yeah man! Thank you for blowing my mind haha. 2k hours and still learning more about this game haha. 2 hour days definitely makes the game a lot easier especially since you're not worrying about the moodlets so much.
As far as losing weight. You can only lost 1kg of weight every day. So, if you start with 100kg it is a minimum of 25 days to get rid of overweight/obese. Which you can lose the weight by eating salads, and only eating enough to get rid of the moodlet. The easier trait is underweight since you can eat a ton of junk food to gain a ton of weight. Which you could get rid of the trait in a week or so.
Fyi, preparing mushrooms in pans or even better bowls makes their poison significantly less potent. You lose about 10% hp for a few minutes. However if you cook the poisonous mushrooms their poison becomes significantly harder to control.
All is good I just avoid them like the plague until I get the herbalist. Always have. I'm an old head when it comes to this game 😂

@@Vynxxgaming oh tried it, survied like 5 days. Lost becouse I tripped xD. It was enough for me. Especially becouse molotovs are only valid option when you go solo.

I found watching the shows before power goes out. Then you watch the shows on vhs. You get the xp even though you already watched
@@jameshughes582 I typically don't worry about the shows especially on 16x. I find there's more pressing matters like securing an area or even clearing to be more beneficial. Later on in the series I damn near have all my stats maxed from just doing normal things and watching VHS's

@@Vynxxgaming Ya it's pretty miserable. At one point I played max population sprinters and spawned in Westpoint I think it was. Took me over 15 attempts to actually get out alive and into the woods. It was chaotic and fun though!
@@demondorito673 Now hear me out. With Pillows LV Spawns you can get the train yard spawn near the checkpoint. It has significantly less zombie spawns than the rest of the city with walls and a high spawn of sledgehammers and an infinite water source.
18:25 Ah. The mystery of the flesh hedges revealed. I wondered if you had manually removed all the corpses from the road to make it easier to drive on or to preserve vehicle condition. Does driving over corpses damage your vehicle?

No corpse do not cause damage to your vehicle, but if you go over them fast enough you can flip your car which vehicles can take a sort of fall damage.
For hardest difficulty you should´ve maxed out the zombies speed, durability and strength as well. I know it´s ridiculous but -that- would be hardest difficulty
I'll do that when I see ONE person survive a year with sprinters lmao. Sprinters are far too finicky to even consider trying to go long term with, and when 99% of the player base cannot even do 4x 16x is beyond hard. I've considered uping the ante with zero to hero and heli's, but when I made this series 16x was a bit of the craze at the time. PZ will definitely come back at some point just have been taking a break from the toxicity honestly.

@@blackbat908 it is the hardest survivable difficultly lmao. You could argue maxing out zombie stats makes it more difficult, and I would argue that the fundamentals of the mechanics null that argument. I'm still killing 16x pop zombies. I'm just taking a little more time to do so.

Unfortunately, no. Only with mods like Jigga's Green Fire mod. Although, that may change in B42

I’d like to point out that any tactic for killing zeds is bad under the logic that one grabbing/lunging at you will ruin your day, that’s like saying getting bitten is bad because you die, no duh.
The point of using the fence tatic being bad is that it IS a tatic that people use to kill large amounts of zombies that has a high risk high reward system. Survival is mitagating risk. So, if you play it safe by using the 1v1 congo line strat you are reducing your risk to your own skill. Not by chance of lunge. So avoiding risks is survival.
@@Vynxxgaming I like your point about risk. Most people do the fence killing trick in terrible unsafe ways. They haven't learned proper zombie grouping/stun locking and distancing to make it a lot safer. plus you need lvl 3 or 4 nimble for those micro adjustments for general melee combat.
Any ways for any who uses the fence or window cheese. You have to put your back to the tile the zombie is crawling over so the lung wont hit you. I seen too many people standing to the left or right of the zombie as they crawl over the fence. then they get hit as other zombies jump over to get a delicious survivor meal.
if zombies are climbing over fence on both sides of you as try to greedily kill one you going to get hit. You're better off just jugging away in a direct they lung hit you or jump over the fence if the other side is clear enough instead. This much harder to do with a windows since the zombies can push you back in.
I hope that makes sense. It's hard to type out every scenario in detail lol which i certainly didn't do here.
So don't be Bear Grills who drinks pp and back flips down hills. Be Les shroud who takes his time and makes it out alive.
@@halcyonways1476 haha, exactly I've even tested 1,000 zombies just using conga line, and a 1,000 using nothing but fence cheese. I got hit every 250 zombies or so. Conga line. Zero. And it was faster and easier to maneuver 🤷♂️
hardest difficulties... cause your computer will cry and drop mad frames even with beastly specs lol

that's not the hardest challenge, the real hardest challenge is 16x super sprinters that can climb, spit out radioactive zombies, can fly and are unkillable

Unplayable is sprinters which is not a difficulty. 16x is the hardest difficulty that you can actually survive in

I've tried 16x sprinters in RS got the same spawn. Pushed towards the laundromat in about 3 days. Got a bad RNG migration that ran down the bar. Sprinters are ridiculous even at insane pop.
