Same here bud. I remember I listened to it live. We turned to sound off because Mitch is better to listen to then Joe Buck.
I had not heard that call for awhile now and it brings back chills (and the goosebumps).
And the Kansas City Chiefs have firmly planted their flag...on top of football's highest summit.
He will come up with something new and legendary when they win it again on February 12, 2023!
I'm so glad they did a piece like this to highlight Mitch. He's the best in the business at what he does. And thats not just cuz I'm a Chiefs fan-- thats an absolute fact. When you're unable to watch the games on TV or be there in person, Mitch always does a great job of painting the picture for you and hes always got his finger on the pulse of the game. He is the best football broadcaster of all time. Hands down. He needs inducted into the Chiefs ring of honor, and the pro football Hall of fame. I love Mitch and all he has done and continues to do, as part of the media team. He is "The Voice". And I hope everyone appreciates what he does, because it will be a sad day in Chiefs Kingdom when he retires.

He is an integral piece of the Chiefs team! Denny Matthews is a Royal and in the HOF! Mitch needs to be in there while he is still working, a la Denny Matthews! Tami should be there also!

I remember as a kid listening to Mitch on the Fox and he made me feel like I was right on the sideline watching the game. One of the greatest broadcasters ever.

I'm a young Chiefs fan from Germany, the NFL is still a niche here and I've been a Chiefs fan since my day 1 watching the NFL, partly for Mitch. And I haven't watched a Chiefs game in my life without him, He IS the Chiefs Kingdom experience.

This is excellent! A true tribute to a local hero to a familiar voice to a friend on the other side of the radio! As a radio broadcaster myself I was thinking about what makes someone great as “The Voice”. Obviously the nuts and bolts of broadcasting are essential, but love and passion set the best apart. If your love and passion are evident and contagious you will be long remembered.
He’s very good at what he does, one of the most exciting aspects of KC football 🏈. If you listen to him you can tell that he loves the Kanas City Chiefs. He makes it feel like we’re all one big family, each fan.

It's weird, you know, listening to games broadcast from another city, ANY city, and they don't have the same charisma, the same fluidity, the passion that you can undeniably hear in his voice, that's really when I realize how lucky we are here in KC!! I've been a fan my whole life, 46 years, I remember Bill Grigsby, very much, he had a great presence, but when Mitch came in it changed a whole heckuva lot!!!
I know when players leave here they have got to miss the Voice!!! No one can call a game the way he does! MOST of the people I know, who aren't crazy enough to go to a game in person, turn the TV volume OFF and the radio UP!!!! That's how it's done here in the Kingdom baby!!!

My uncle was on the field in the DiPardo Touchdown Pack band for awhile and instead of the players, he always said that Mitch was the most fun to talk with. I have no doubt about the truth of that!

This is a great tribute to a great man!
Back in the day the chiefs used to be in the witness protection program. They were never on TV where I live. Which isn’t very far away. I listened to Mitch and Len every weekend on the radio. They would cover the game in a way that made me feel like I was a part of it. Great times and great memories.

I had an opportunity to sit down with Mitch in San Diego years ago at a Nigerian Nightmare Autograph signing.
At the time I had no idea who he was.
He called me over to his table we sat down talked football for a while talked about life and Chiefs.
I had no idea at the time how Mitch special voice would change the way I hear and view the game.
He has so much passion for the game it comes across in the broadcast. This man is a treasure we need to give him his flowers now not only for being a great broadcaster but for being a great person.

I used to go to Arrowhead every game in the 80s l. My grandfather drove the Metro Bus and I would ride with him to pick up fans and go to Arrowhead. Been a Chiefs Fan since 1982 when I was 4. Mitch is one of the most important Chiefs ever. He literally makes tears come to my eyes with calls like this 7:24. It's literally the best story telling ever
