Presenting a special mix from the discography of an OG world bass label, @MutiMusic. Muti Music is an independent record label that is based in San Francisco, CA created in 2002 by Dov1, representing a sampling of artists who represent a large amount of the sound heard in global festival culture, and specializing in electronic music and a wide range bass music genres.
In South African English, the word “muti” is derived from the Zulu/Xhosa word umuthi, meaning “tree,” whose root is -thi. In Southern Africa, “muti” and cognates of umuthi are in widespread use in most indigenous African languages as well as in South African English and Afrikaans, which sometimes use “muti” as a slang word for medicine in general, or even as a term for ‘good luck’.

Why is this awfully accurate and really takes your mind somehow to that timeline? I mean, just look at the paining, the Eunuch sitting there absolutely in his world somehow trying to ground himself through his left arm, absolutely brilliant.
Exactly, it's a brilliantly vivid artwork! The original has a bit more story to it, which you can find in the description (including the knife which we took out - which depicts his opium dreams about their castration as a eunuch). Wild to think it was drawn in 1874 by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ.

The artwork is an adapted and animated version of "A Eunuch's Dream" (1874) by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ; via Cleveland Museum of Art's collections. The original painting "depicts a eunuch who wanted to marry a harem slave. He experienced a vision of her while smoking his opium pipe, but her little companion holding a knife dripping with blood reminds us that the eunuch's anatomy precludes the fulfillment of his dream". We took out the blood edge & knife edge to make it more friendly for the channel. We also cut out the smoke figures and recreated the painting behind it so that the smoke lady can float for the visuals :)
