You have to appreciate the time / effort that goes into conceiving & constructing a work like this! Musicians instead of rock-stars as I say! I hear a lot of different metal genres in this song….& some are very recognizable to me! Not a huge issue..but would be nice to hear more originality?? But the song is segmented & phrased nicely…so it works for me!
Great you enjoyed this masterpiece Ruben! Ben Duerr knows a lot of World history and he decided to take the war topic for this album, called Elegy, all the songs are based on historical events that happened mostly in WW2. VERY sad indeed. This album was my AOTY for 2022 and with good reasons. Also Shadow of Intent decided to change their sound into something greater Symphonic Death Metal and they have got a good contribution from Francesco Ferrini of Fleshgog Apocalypse, he wrore3and arranged the orchestral parts in Melancholy and Elegy, thats another thing that i really enjoyed a lot. Saw Shadow of Intent in Vienna in January, the opening bands were: To the Grave(Australia) Angelmaker Enterprise Earth Was a very heavy moshpit and show in general lol, Thanks for your reaction and comments, loved it bro.
Metal greatness. A metal musical. Very impressed by their ideas and skills. Such beautiful transitions. Technical, a beautiful dark atmosphere. Could grow into one of my favourite bands for sure.
Thank you! They are my favorite band of all time (or at least top 3) and I think that bouncy crazy riff towards the middle/end of part 3 is an all time favorite. I hope Chris does more insane stuff like that. They kind of drifted away from that kind of insane writing after their first album, which is a shame I think. Even though their music is more mature now their first album had a certain crazy quality to it.
For real, it used to be all about Reclaimer for me but I gave Primordial another chance and it's becoming unclear which one is my favorite. I even started reading the Forerunner Saga and it's adding so much to the lyrics. The Didact's Will is one of their best tracks ever imo.
