Here's my take on this:
Before the contest, Announcer accidentally killed all of the contestants by dropping the HPRC on them (he meant to drop it _beside_ them, but his aim was off). Due to the HPRC taking some damage from the fall, it can only recover one contestant per episode. While Announcer works on getting the contestants back one by one, Nonexisty and his cousins have filled in for the missing contestants, as per the Announcer's request.
