Lewis Capaldi's performance at Glastonbury was truly beautiful. The way the crowd rallied around him and showed their support for his struggles with anxiety was incredibly moving and inspiring. Witnessing this outpouring of compassion and kindness filled me with hope and reminded me of the goodness that still exists in the world. The power of music and community to bring people together and create positive change was on full display, and I wish I could have been a part of it. Overall, the performance has left a lasting impression on me and renewed my faith in the capacity of humanity to come together and support each other.
The audience was entirely composed of Capaldi's fans and admirers. Obviously they would help him sing whichever song he'd perform. That doesn't mean the humanity is evolving.
Lovely girl-Lewis Capaldi is such a legend. My daughter has Tourette and it is important for small children to see similar people in the public eye succeeding in whatever they good at. Thank you Both 🙏🏻
Aw she's so adorable! And she gives a great message too.
Same - it does affect breathing. It is very similar to panic attacks. I have lived with ticks since I was 4 too.
I THINK he is amazing and you’re amazing and WE are amazing and yes it is VERY tiriing. Only those who experience it can appreciate how wonderfully brave Lewis is. As for the audience, thank you for being so kind, he is a talent and a force to be reckoned with and he will be back and it may turn out exactly the same but that doesn’t matter, he is still the wonderful artist we all know and love and he is just simply the best
great this is getting attention I was in a supermarket before this kind of came out and a man in front was swearing and making noises but I could see he was embarrassed but didnt know what was wrong now I know if anyone does that now and looks embarrassed I can say its fine if they need me to
@@dianecameron137 it’s not like normal swearing Tourette’s (usually) it depends on the severity, for example my ‘ticking’ started off with excessive blinking, then for the longest time manifested it self into persistent clearing of my throat whilst panicking. It would happen all the time but be exacerbated by even more stressful places. Then as I aged I used to get facial spasms, or my head would involuntarily shake to one side, the gasping for breath or not being able to take a full breath has to be the worse one for me and so I can resonate. I think he needs to look for triggers, sleep deprivation is one for me - probably the largest but with anxiety comes a whole host of other problems too. I’m here if anyone needs to talk. I announce if I go to an appointment why I am doing what I’m doing and that I’m having a panic attack. The reason I’m so proud of Lewis is that he pushes himself but I also realise that there’s always an underlying trigger or problem with anxiety - he will come back even stronger from this and I will be spurring him on. Nice people suffer with their nerves because they care about everything. He has health anxiety too and that can be very difficult to rid of but not impossible xxx
good that you and others can have a voice now about it @@emmahammond4338
The way he touches his chest and anxiety I suffer with this condition and its horrible,it comes out of nowhere and I shake and twitch and shake and have what I call the fear had this all my life but never been diagnosed with it as every time I go Drs they say anxiety ,its horrible condition
@@paintitblackblack9910 I’m sorry you suffer too. It’s such a debilitating illness. Often people mistake anxiety with ‘feeling nervous’ which could not be further from the truth. It doesn’t matter how many times you try to rationalise with yourself, anxiety just isn’t rational. I know where my anxiety stems from and it usually is something that has happened in childhood, and then thereafter it builds until your brain can no longer cope with irrational fears. Sometimes you may not think you are thinking of something but our brains are always thinking. A human brain has over 100k thoughts a day and our conscious and subconscious mind work to filter out what it thinks is important and what isn’t. So for example have you ever had a dream where you see someone and think to yourself , I’ve never seen that person or place before? The reality is that you have, it could’ve been when you walking down the street, or something you saw on television - your subconscious mind has remembered and that is what the subconscious mind does. Another example. Think of a door to your first ever home from as young as you remember… I guarantee you could tell me the colour or some detail about it.
CBT is good for coping mechanisms but when anxiety as gone past a point it is too late. I really recommend to anyone to read ‘The Body Keeps the Score” by Professor Bessel Van Der Kolk”
If you can’t stomach reading it, it can be downloaded as an audio.
I think that CBT should be used primarily, if that doesn’t help, then DIT therapy and if that doesn’t help, the NHS are trialling a therapy called EMDR which I’m currently on the waiting list for.
Just because you don’t remember the time that made you anxious doesn’t mean there wasn’t a trigger and it could have been the smallest thing, a smell, a colour a tone of voice. I like, Lewis have health anxiety, I’m also a perfectionist which is difficult to sustain when you suffer with anxiety as it leads to depression etc.
Please also look at NLP it’s not available on the NHS but it gave me two months of relief. They use this everywhere in Europe but not in the UK and I found it amazing.
Definitely read the book too :)
How lovely is she, like Lewis just a wonderful person
There’s still kind people on earth
Oh my god. I watched this scenes on RUclips a couple of times and it is really beautiful that the crowd stands behind him. The reaction of Lewis was so sweet and it nearly made me cry because this illness must be one of the worst illnesses a musician can have.
I'm also a hobby-musician and for me it would be awful ticking while playing the piano or stuff like that.
And I also like Wilamena a lot. She is so selfreflective for her 17 years and is describing tourette in a clear but lovely way
Editors did a great job there keeping Wilamena's dignity there on the fly. Normalising is the best form of acceptance
Hope Lewis gets better and works it all out. He's very talented he'll be ok. This girl is strong.
lewis is awesome
I have panic attacks & breathing in the same way as those who have tics , anxiety comes out in different ways
You are so incredibly talented singer and your so inspiring to inspire us ❤ ❤❤❤❤
I ❤Lewis Capaldi he legand ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A friend of mine developed severe Tourette’s in his mid 20s, it was determined the trigger was him starting Antidepressants. It’s completely destroyed his life.
they teach ways to lessen it a bit like they do with stammers saw it on a programme he should google it see if he can get some help maybe he has but it looked like it did help some but sad it affecting him hope he ok
@@dianecameron137 thank you for that, I’ll let him know. He’s done multiple podcasts going over his story, but he went through his life without issue until taking the SSRI’s and his Tourette’s came on extremely severely, he lost his job etc. Its always something I assumed was genetic, not that could suddenly come on well into adulthood.
Agree antidepressants make you worse. Too many tablets these days .
@@Derekryan456 Certainly. GP’s have been using them as a tool to get their patients out of the office without addressing the problem for too long now. If I’ve got a broken leg, I might be prescribed painkillers, but they’ll also set the leg, give me a cast etc. Antidepressants just mask the problem, but the underlying issue will still remain, so you’re trapped in never ending chemical reliance. The majority of depression is what I’d call ‘situational depression’, so giving someone tablets that’ll make them overweight and impotent isn’t going to help anything. Talking therapy, diet, exercise, time in nature and nurturing relationships are all much more effective, but this government doesn’t take mental health seriously, so I can’t see things changing any time soon.
@@simonjones4941 agree. Gotta love Lewis but it ain't looking good at the moment. Needs to cut out the alcohol completely but not easy in his line. Alcohol and any sort of tablets is just a lethal combination.
My gf is a pharmacy technician and she even says its all about money for the doctors and the pharmaceutical companies.
How did people manage years ago.
Organic medicine best not all this man made shit
I hope Lewis Capaldi is OK. He is very talented.
He was great and hes a really funny guy.
What's the official name of the girl????
Wanting to know so much
I think he was genuinely annoyed with ‘himself’ for selfless reasons but knowings it’s been amazing publicity for him as he’s already on a global rise to being the new Elton John will be enough to make him say ‘ah fuck it’ or even ‘woop’
Good morning 🌄🌅🌄🌅🌅 everyone
great brillant girl, great interview
Top lass
Yes , it is amazing that she went on national TV live tics and all! Brilliant!!
What would Phil Schofield have to say!? 😂😂😂
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I'm a big fan... probably the best singer of his generation. My advice would be to go the gym and get a personal trainer... physical exercise has so many benefits and makes you feel confident and will give you the base to tackle your tourette's and any other issues. See you soon... you killed glasto
Great singer, but it is over for him now, ❤️❤️❤️
I think it would also help Lewis if he looked at his whole health he has ballooned in recent years with the people around him hopefully he can get help to be healthy mind & body 🙏
Elon musk will find a fix for this!
Honestly no offence to the lad I personally don't like his music and think he's massively overrated. But why was he given the opportunity to play Glastonbury when he's clearly not up to it?
A bit like Greta Thumberg. The media are promoting these 'special' celebs so that people can't criticise them. He really doesn't have a pleasant voice and you're right, I can't see why he's rated so high.
Capaldi is very talented.
@@rorysmith2415 sure, groomer.
@@rorysmith2415he didn’t say he wasn’t talented, just said he doesn’t like his music.
The end of the human races sanity.
Is there anything else Lewis Capaldi can complain about don’t think he’ll be doing Glastonbury in his seventies like Elton
Well, Elton doesn't have the physical issues that Lewis has. Lewis is suffering terribly with his illness.
What a cruel response and totally unnecessary. We don't know how he will cope in the future, but he can still write the most powerful songs. That won't stop. Like his song I wish him the best.
Terrible for him but he clearly isn’t taking care of himself. He needs to lose the weight and take some time out to heal himself.
He has a fucking neurological condition no amount of weight loss and timeouts is going to heal that
Thank you doctor
It's not Lewis's weight is the problem. The lad is living with touretts.
