I think he never sees himself parallel with the Bollywood stars. He's always so quiet during Hindi movie interviews. Or maybe actresses and actors aren't too friendly with him. Idk. The difference in interviews is so clear.

Rishmit Randhawa The biggest and most relevant reason according to me is he ain't comfortable with english so he tries to avoid bollywood actors to not make himself a laughing stock. If he could speak english then he wouldn't have felt so shy. He himself doesn't try to be frank or to open up with anyone. He is not able to mix up with them. I always see him avoiding bollywood actors especially actresses because he can't have conversation with them in english. He tries to avoid english media when he is with bollywood actors. So its the inferiority complex that he is suffering with. On hindi interviews he is slightly more active. Also he kind of feel that those bollywood actors get more attention from national media and because he is punjabi regional artist so national media tries to sideline him in front of bollywood actors. Its not like bollywood actors dont like him but he himself doesnt open up with them because of his shy nature. Alia Bhatt and Anushka both called him shy. Watch his interviews on english channels. You will find him so timid and zoned out. I think its natural in his case. Any person at his place would stay quiet, anxious and reserved. & TBH its indeed a cringe type feeling to see him on english channel with bollywood actors.
The co actors too feel very very awkward. Interviewer too feels hesitated.
Rishmit Randhawa why would he consider himself equal to those bollywood actors ? he is known by people of only one state while bollywood actors have vast reach
And his role in both movies was subordinate (rather supporting) to other actors. If he is parallel to them then why doesn't he get a parallel role as well ? He has great stardom but only in punjab or punjabi community. No one knows him outside punjab. HINDI Belt or pan india belt has no interest in watching him and his films. Bollywood career is only of short time period. No one will watch his solo hindi film outside punjab. I too like him but only in punjabi movies but sorry no bollywood ain't a place for him. He kind of knows he isnt going to stay in that industry.
One thing I know for sure, I will never be as big of a fan of any Bollywood actor ever as I am of Diljit dosanjh. I literally watch all his videos with ads enabled lmao
