Thank you again Greg. I can’t emphasize enough how much I /we appreciate all the info you provide for us.
Thanks Richard, that means a lot. More videos on the way!
Thank you for these tips. Although I’m only starting for a week, I reckon it is best to start with those niches that you know or you’re a part of 😁 doing what you’re passionate about in designs will definitely sell.
Agreed! Thanks for the comment too.
Man I’m so glad to have Greg back this guy is such a inspiration!!!!

Glad I can be helpful, and thank you for the comment! If you run into any questions just let me know.
is there also copyright for phrases on POD? how to avoid it?
Good question. Yes, there is. You can check your phrases on the same tool (merch informer). There's a tutorial in this video: ruclips.net/video/oWh4PP68RsE/видео.html I hope that helps!
Greg, what's your opinion on selling PoD products containing just text versus those with text and graphics? Which do you find tends to sell better? Some years back I watched a RUclips video recommending text-only designs because they usually generated higher sales, which seemed counterintuitive.
Personal opinion. Both got their advantages, it boils down to idea that works ( funny, demand of market etc )
However when u got good text based idea..is just too easy for people to copy your design
@@wulflens Thanks for your input.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. If you ever run into any questions as you're doing POD just let me know!
New to your channel. Have dabbled with POD no success. You just motivated me to a new way of doing things. Questions: by applying on Amazon to be a seller-is the way to get paid?
Glad you're making your way through the important POD videos (this one and the full tutorial one), they cover most of everything you should need. As for getting paid, Amazon will send you a direct deposit, but I do believe you could elect to have a check mailed to you each month. When looking at the other big POD sites, each of the sites does payments their own way, however across the board you will be paid either automatically direct deposit to your bank each month, automatically paid to your PayPal each month, or funds build up in your account and you can choose how often you want to withdraw them either into PayPal/Payoneer/direct deposit. I hope that helps clarify 👍
Thanks for the quick response. I'm your new fan!!@@GregGottfried

Sire, you clearly know this PoD stuff like the back of your hand!
Hi Greg! First, THANK YOU so much for given such great teachings to all of us who are desperate to learn! You’re amazing. I’ve watched a few of your videos and one question I’m dying to know is, - Should I even spend my time trying to post in the popular niches like “camping” and so on if I am just starting out in P.O.D. ? In another video you suggested searching out those popular niches. Secondly, I’m also wondering, if I have great and new slogans if it might still be beneficial to produce content using the popular niches?
I’m probably going to end up trying both popular and less used niches. Could I get your thoughts on all this?
Love your content Greg! Legend.
Thank you 🙌
Hi and Thank you for all your helpful videos. I wanted to ask if you have any videos on tshirt pricing or suggestions on pricing for 2023?

Aside from the audio, great video Greg
Got a new mic since then 😀
I have a question since u typed in the word ‘lineman’. Do i only filter it on the word lineman or do i have to put shirt behind it. So the keywords get lineman shirt of lineman hoodie?
Awesome!
Thanks!
Question for you...For sub-niches that are very low competition, do you think there will be many interests?
Yes, as long as there are searches on AMZ and Google, it's good to design for. Even low traffic sub-niches can turn into really profitable sub-niches.
@@GregGottfried how long low competition sub-niches is valid?...a month, a year?. ...should we change to another one?
Hey Greg another awesome video! Question: it has always been suggested to “niche down” so is it ok to have different but similar-ish niches in the same store? Also, is it possible for people to just “right click” your one off art work and use it with some small uncreative text addition? Thanks for being you!!
Marketing is the most important thing
Thanks for sharing such great information that you've learned. It has helped me so much! I would love to see a video on how you find your title, tags, etc... Is it as important as people say? Or do you think... put a decent title, tags etc & just keep uploading lots of shirts... you'll eventually get found? Where can I go in merch informer to find the best tags etc? Also - any suggestions on how to upload more quickly….. or a tool that will upload to multiple sites at once … that doesn’t cost an arm & a leg ha! Thanks so much!
Do you have a video on how to deal with certain things like refund requests, or claims of missing packages?
Great question. Those are taken care of 100% by the print on demand websites themselves. We don't get involved, or even notified, when a customer has an issue (it goes directly to the website to take care of).
Thanks for your video. So helpful! how would you compare Merch Informer with Everbee?
Hey Greg. Thank you for sharing your experience openly. If we do want to expand from tshirts to other items like candles or pillows, any ideas. Thanks❤😊
Thank you Greg!
Thanks 🙏
Hello am from Brasil, you contents is Cool, thank you
Thanks Greg 🙏 just wondering where you think animals fit into these 7 niches? Eg dogs/cats
Hi Greg,
What do you think of the animal nich, especially unusual animals?
This is a great video as always. My question now is about taxes here in Canada. Do i need to register my POD business before starting.
Thank you so much.
Hey Fatima, thanks for asking! I can only speak to US taxes, but here in the US you don't need a business entity, and you just add the profits to your personal income taxes as "other income".
It’s very hard nowadays there are so many sellers and Designs out there
Only in the general popular niches. There are tens of thousands of sub-niches that have hardly any sellers or designs in them. I find so many that I can't fill them myself...
To the point and very helpful advice, thanks Greg! Love using Merch Informer, and it’s good to know how you’ve been using it. I seem to over analyzed the data with the tool, a good reminder that it can be simple as that :)
Right on! Thanks for stopping by!
How to calculate shipping prices?
It’s all done for us by the websites. We don’t have to do anything for it. Hope that clarifies.
Hi Greg enjoy your videos.
I just want to know if merch informer work across all POD sites?
Great question! In short, yes the information lines up with the other sites. There are currently no tools that reference data from all big POD sites, so merch informer is the next best thing because it references both Amazon (the largest POD site) and Google (for overall buyer intent). Hope that helps explain!
Thank you for this video! Super clear and helpful!
This may be a super ignorant question, but I imagine when a person is looking for a specific sub-niche on a shirt, wouldn't they search for both words, like "lineman shirt"? In the video, lineman shirt had high competition, even though lineman doesn't. Have you found that it makes a difference either way?
Another question - do you only look at the Amazon search numbers? For example, future lineman had 2523 searches, but Google only had 10 searches. Does that matter?
Thanks for another great video. I'm interested in the customized niche - like monograms etc. I am assuming this niche would not work for POD - would I have to make my own website to make and sell these items? Thanks!
Regarding key words, are they the same as "tags"? Or are you saying change the title to include both the subniches, and add the subniche in the description as well?
Hi, thanks for a great video. I'm totally new to print on demand, so I'm just in the learning phase. If you find a sub-niche like lineman, do you build a store around that or do you build a store around several occupational sub-niches?
You would want to build a store that can use multiple niches/subniches. Dont want to stick to just one idea! Good luck!
Hi Greg, I am having some troubles finding low competition niches. E.g if i wanna find something under hobbies and I put hiking, low competition comes up. However, if I put hiking tshirt then it goes immediately high. Same is with your example: lineman is low, but if I put lineman tshirt then it goes high.
I've been looking for good content to learn POD in a clear step-by-step actionable process. Your videos are the best by far for anyone wanting to start a POD business. I've watched all your POD videos and have been making detailed notes for all of them. One question I have is: How many sub-niches and designs her sub-niche would you suggest in order to have a successful, profitable start?
Hey Greg your videos are really informative but i got a query should I setup my address location based on niches, like changing country location because of specific targeting niches, will that pull in customers?
Any free mock up tools to make shirt designs?
Thanks Greg, for your informative video - I have a question please? Do you still need to get an A or B for these sub-niches? I tried Lineman, and it came out as an F which would signal that perhaps it is not a good choice/sub-niche?
This is great stuff.
Thanks Denny!
Thank you!
You're welcome, hope it's helpful. If you run into any questions just let me know!
very informative thanks for showing a way for passive income generation
I was thinking 🤔 about nature + traveling as my niche . These niche is good or not ?
Hey Greg, between print on demand and affiliate marketing which has made you more money over time?
I'd like to know that too.
Hey Greg!!! What are your thoughts on these graphic packages? I am see them everywhere on my socials!!!
What are some examples of geographical/local nastalgia I don't know what that means exactly? thanks Greg.
Hi sir! Is it okay to select OCCUPATIONAL niche as a whole? I mean, not just engineering, nursing or photography etc. What if I make tshirt designs of all occupations. This will be easier as I'll be able to apply vast ideas to my designs.
Can you please guide me?
Good video! I have a question about low competion, like your example was lineman and that show low comp. but lower on page on keyword/phrase section it says lineman shirt with a high comp. That means when we create a design about something we refer to the lineman or lineman shirt like the lineman term is in general?
Thanks for the comment and great question. Yes, we want to use the exact keyword. So in this case we would focus on just lineman because it’s the low competition keyword. You can also use other similar low competition keywords throughout the title and description as well if the design relates to them too.
@@GregGottfried Thanks for the short time answear! So for example if I want to create a design about cats I will search on keyword "cat" instead of "cat shirt" and I will do the same in my title and description or variations of "cat".
I have a question. I'm using Merch Informer, and I searched "lineman", and the search volume is high, and the competition is low, just like in the video. But when I searched "lineman shirt" the search volume is lower (expectedly,) the CPC is lower, but the competition is apparently high.
Does this mean that lineman shirts would actually be a bad thing? Or is the word "shirt" just highly competitive? Or should the keyword searches always be one word? "Lineman," "nurse," "chess."
Any help would be appreciated!
Great question. It’s different for every keyword variation because the data is based on the keyword exactly how it is. So I’m this case, you’d want to use just lineman. In other words, use just the good variations of the keywords, even if they have a misspelling in them. I hope that helps clarify!
should I start with a single sub-niche or can have multiple sub-niches of the different 7 categories you mentioned in this video?
Great question. For these 7, you can have different niches. I hope that helps!
@@GregGottfried can I use the same process to put slogans in canva t shirt templates? also how many designs (minimum) i should start with?
Thanks, Friend :))
Thank you 🙌
Hi, Greg! Thanks for great content! I followed your tutorial and found.. that keywords that have low competition have "F" score in competition rating. In the keyword finder at Merch Informer, it says competition is low.. but when I click on the cart button for the keyword and look into that keyword in more detail, Merch Informer says competition score for the keyword is "F." In that case, which guideline should I follow?
Excellent question. In short, I recommend following the Keyword Finder (using the "low" sub-niches). The competition checker is geared towards overall niches, so the rating system doesn't prefer the low amount of traffic, but as the large overall niches fill up it's time to look for the sub-niches. Hope that helps clarify!
if you create products for multiple niches, should you create separate PoD accounts for each niche or put all your creations no matter the niche in one account?
Great question. Previously, each niche in a different storefront. But now they can all be in the same storefront. I hope that helps!
@@GregGottfried I see... why is it okay to list everything on the same storefront now compared to before?
You mentioned personalize items but how can we personalize on amazon by merch ?
will do.
I saw some of yours videos. they are very good. I'm using placeit. How can i change the font size at t-shirt design? i can't set up a lot ot time the transparent background. Why? would you you explain me? If i click at background / recent / on the colour icon, the background changes, but if i click on transparent background, than the background will black
You can change the font size by dragging the corner of the text box. The transparent background is in the "color" menu of the background button. I hope that helps!
Do u use print ful? Is thr any shipping setup related video which u did for Pod?
Are results from the Keyword Finder tool specific to Amazon Merch on Demand or just an Amazon search for all products?
Should you have one niche for each store front? How many storefronts should you have?
Great question. It used to be 1 niche per storefront, but nowadays you can do just one storefront and all your niches within it because the sites now get the vast majority of their sales from the individual listings rather than the storefront.
Hey Greg i wanted to ask you some questions
I'm confused. When I searched 'keyword finder' with Merch informer of a very popular hobby niche, it said it had low competition and 100k+ AMZ search volume. But when I searched the same term with the competition checker, it showed a score of F. I'm not sure which part of the tool to trust.
Some of the information it pulls from will be non clothing products from Amazon, so it’s not necessarily accurate as an F rating - same as when it’s an A - it might be reading from a lot of clothing options and not other products. I think the keyword search is the most potentially accurate.
@@Throb1 thanks for helping me realize this and understand the reason for the difference.
Hello Greg, that's great! However, I'm doing things upside down: I'm an illustrator who created some designs that look cool and now I find myself trying to "squeeze" my designs into sub-category niches. Do I just have to type down and attach the low-competition keywords (closely related of course) to my designs in the process of maximizing the views?
Yes
Hi, Greg is selling Christian T-shirts, and other branded clothing a niche that will be lucrative for me? What do you think about going into the Christian/Evangelical niche? My church is helping me to promote my Teesrping store, but it's on social media and the internet I would have to convince people that they should buy from me.
Greg, first of all thank you so much for your videos, they are amazing! High value and clear solid information in each one of them, as an early entrepreneur I really appreciate them, the value they have is incredibly high.
I started a few weeks back with PoD and i have more than just one question, tbh. Do you do some kind of mentoring or consulting? Id love a moment of your time and paying for it, my questions are so specific, but dont want to just take your time or your space on this platform. Let me know if you an e-mail or if its ok to make like 3 or 4 specific questions here. Thank you so much again, you're definitely one of the best channels I ever join
Hello Greg,
I'm from Pakistan and I am big fan of your channel, I'm newbie in Tshirt designing. I want to create Amazon merch account but there is a problem in two step verification. And also I ask which POD site is best for me because I am newbie?
Please guide me how to overcome this problem?
Merch Informer is just for USA?
Is there any free alternative to merch informer?
Not sure if you’re aware yet but there’s a static sound that fades in and out in the beginning of the video
I was so engrossed with what was being taught that I didn't notice it.
Hey Easton, I had an issue with a new microphone and couldn't fully resolve it in editing. I got another mic for the next videos so it shouldn't happen again
You look great bro
Bro plz tell me It os only for amazon keyword research tool or others print on demand websites like tee spring, red bubble, tee public and zazzle .
It pulls the data from Amazon but I use it as a general tool for all the sites because it's the most accurate tool available at the moment.
HEY GREG!! WATCHED THIS VIDEO , GOT THE MERCH INFORMER , BUT I'M CONFUSED A LI'L WITH THE KEYWORD RESEARCH , FOR EXAMPLE WHEN I SEARCH FOR "ELECTRICIAN " IT'S SHOWING LOW COMPETITION,BUT WHEN I PUT FUNNY ELECTRICIAN SHIRTS THE COMPETITION IS HIGH FOR ALMOST ALL PROFESSIONS. PLEASE HELP I'M CONFUSED!
Hello. Are you able to write 'text' over the images using Midjourney?
I started to design Canva. is it fine?
Not all Canva elements are copyright-free, so I don’t recommend it for print on demand. Placeit is a much better tool for POD because it’s 100% copyright-free.

Hi, Greg, I have one simple question. When you find a good niche, and Merch informer confirms that is an A or B, do you create designs for that niche only for one day, for ex. 30,40, 50 designs, or you go all in and create high quality designs in that niche for days, like hundreds of designs? With merch informer it's easy to find good niches but I'm not sure should I create designs in that niche today, for ex. 50 and then move on to next profitable niche, or do a few days worth of work in a single profitable niche?
Great question. I recommend trying to cover as many of the low competition niches as possible. I don’t usually spend more than a day making designs in a sub-niche. As many designs as you can then move on to the next one, that will keep you we’ll diversified and cover a lot of ground. I hope that helps!
@@GregGottfried It helps very much, thank you.
I really need help on how to find templates and learn how to download it and pass it over to another site also I need help on designs I know what design I want for the clothing company but I just don’t know how to implement it to the t shirt if anyone is willing to help it would be so helpful thx in advance
Hi Greg, The trouble I have come up with is once I find a sub niche Placeit doesn't always recognize that niche and there are no designs available even for popular occupations, weird! also once you make a design the resolution of the image you make on PLACEIT is also low or small , how do you get the high resolution images ? thank you
I had that problem with placeit images until I realized that I was dragging and dropping the thumbnail and not downloading the actual image. Make sure that you are clicking download, then you should see the full quality images. Hope that helps!
thx
