What is even more secure is to save my data to external hard drive’s that way if my computer crashes I don’t lose any data because they’re on my external hard drive which is not part of my computer. And hackers can’t get access to it and less I can get access to my computer so no hacking and my data doesn’t go offsite.
But of course, that hard drive can fail, be lost, or destroyed. Also, it doesn't have the convenience factor of being able to access it from anywhere on any device, unless you carry it with you all the time, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Hi Rainy Sunda & Jay B, The external hard drive is a great way to store your data in case your computer crashes. Jay B is right that it can be lost, damaged and destroyed. I recommend keeping the external drive in a safe, locked spot. You always run the risk of hackers if you use the cloud, so I recommend not adding sensitive material to your cloud drives. Jay B, cloud access is fantastic because of the ability to access it from anywhere. External Drives are not great for that, unless you carry a USB stick with you everywhere.

Thank you, Adam! I have a BIG PROBLEM that I can't solve: I want to organize my (cloud backed up) folders on my desktop so that I can use them as I use to normally create and store them before I copied/uploaded to a cloud service. Example: I want to create a document, and then store that document in my DOCUMENTS folder - and also have that document back up into the cloud when I save it. Currently, All I know how to do - is to manually add my documents to a duplicate documents folder stored in my cloud folder located locally on my desktop. Hi Robert, I use OneDrive to manage all of my cloud files. I basically save my files to OneDrive, which is very convenient because I can do this directly within File Explorer on Windows 10. @@ProfessorAdamMorgan Thank you so VERY MUCH for all that time and energy you spent on answering my question. I'll be expecting your bill in the mail (smile). Haha I'm glad this helped you. With 12k documents, I can see why this would be a problem for you. Keep in mind if these files are large, most cloud services max out at about 15GB of storage space, so you may have to pay for a service if they exceed the provider's limit. Thanks for the nice response, I am glad this helped you and I hope that you have a nice weekend.

Hi 555dahlia, I'd recommend an external hard drive for those things. You don't necessarily want those documents to be on the cloud in case it's hacked. Buy an external hard drive, plug it in, copy the files to the drive, then unplug it and keep it in a safe place.
I have a friend who is touching up my feature script using FADE IN to re- format my script correctly. I would like to be working on the dialogue while he is chugging along on the other stuff. Can him and I work on the same script from the cloud? and how would I connect FADE IN screenwriting software to this cloud?! ....I not only want storage, but to be able to edit and have it save to this cloud. Thank you for any kind of help.
You would need to share that file first. How you do this depends on whatever cloud service you are using. Most will have a share option where you can enter the recipient''s email address and it will send them the link. You can set permissions. Again, exact options vary depending on the service.
If I’m starting a RUclips channel, is cloud good storage that I can use for videos? Thanks for any help; I’m a technology noob so I have a lot to learn but need to get my messages out 😁
Hi Britt, I would use an external hard drive if space is limited on your computer's default hard drive. The cloud is great for many things, but video files are very large and it would quickly fill up the space on your cloud drive. I hope this helps.
Hi Cambo, You actually can do that. I show you how in the series of videos below using Microsoft OneDrive. It goes directly into File Explorer: OneDrive Tutorial: ruclips.net/video/0GRgqfc_ZXU/видео.html Syncing OneDrive Tutorial: ruclips.net/video/rm_1O3Ku_6A/видео.html I hope it helps.
Hi Jacqueline, Sure, you can download each of them from their websites and link them all in File Explorer if you really wanted to. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Great video. But sadly, it seems that most cloud services require that whatever data you upload also gets saved on the PC. I buy 1TB of cloud storage I upload 500GB from an external hard drive I'm told I can't continue to upload anymore because my C:/ drive is full up I locate and delete the data from my C:/ drive freeing up the space The data is also deleted from the cloud service I check my cloud service settings, to see if there's a way of keeping it on the cloud only There isn't. I google the issue, only to discover that many people have this complaint and it's perfectly normal for cloud data to be forcibly backed up on the PC Beware of OneDrive, iCloud and DropBox. Google Drive has started allowing this, but they don't have a PC drag-and-drop facility.
Hi anicetune, I haven't experienced this, but I also don't have 500GB worth of files on the cloud. With such large file sizes, you'd certainly have to pay the premium service for most cloud providers. I haven't had a problem with deleting original data from the C drive, but this is good information to know. Thank you for watching!
Hi, You would need to copy and paste it to your phones SD card if it has one. You'll need to find what your phone's internal storage is called on your device. I wouldn't be able to help you without seeing your phone on this one, sorry!
Hi Michelle, Depends on the program, but you should just need to click the picture to select it, then click Download. That way you can download it to your computer's hard drive.
Professor Morgan. Can someone control an device from the cloud? i.e. I was gifted a tablet during our friendship. Now that we are not on good terms my device is interrupted randomly. Regardless of what internet service I connected to.
If I upload pictures off my phone to the cloud can I then delete them from my phone to improve storage availability and be sure there is a copy stopped on the cloud?
How actually the data gets stored in cloud in terms of storage ..... like 100 or 1000 machines storing the same/different set of data so ... can you elaborate a bit on this ???
Hi Chandan, Once you add a file to the cloud, it's synced to the provider's secure online service. The provider keeps the files encrypted in storage services. They're typically located on machines in the United States or cold climate areas to keep cool.
I use the cloud for personal reasons. Nothing too much of importance on my phone except that I would like to be able to upgrade to new phones seemlessly and keep my pictures. I just realized that I feel like I'm going to be paying $2 a month for life unless I figure this out. How should I go about deleting files from the cloud and my phone at the same time for things that I realize I don't need backed up? I use galaxy phones if that helps.
If you're using Google Photos, you can delete photos you don't want from the app. Then, if that photo is also stored on your phone, it will ask you if you want to delete it from the device as well.
Save all files to external hard drive...I just purchase a Lenovo desktop.... how do I suddenly not have Enough Disk space? Somehow All pay pics from hard drives went suddenly to one drive, now full, in a flick of an eye, without my doing anything. It took these from my previous laptop. What happened? How do I free up disk space in my new Lenovo..free up one drive . Confused. Thank you
Hi Dannus, It's possible that your new Lenovo desktopdoesn't have as much hard drive space as your last computer. You can check to see how much space is being taken up by all of the files on the external hard drive, then see if your new desktop has the space to hold all of the incoming files. As far as OneDrive goes, you probably had files saved to OneDrive and when you signed in to OneDrive on your new Lenovo desktop, they will now appear. As for freeing up space, you'll need to check to see how much space you have available, how much space you need, and finally which files you want to transfer to the new desktop.

I want to create an app where user can buy video courses. Where should I store my video and how to play in the app. Please help me. I am an android developer but have no experience with online video playing and managing.
Hi Dibakar, You should probably store the videos on an external hard drive or your computer's hard drive, if not both. I wouldn't use the cloud for this due to the fact that the file sizes will be very large since they're video files. Also, you don't want to have your content posted on the cloud in case the cloud provider is hacked. I hope this helps you out.

Hi David, You could use Google Drive to store the trust on the cloud so all parties can view it. You would need to share the file with the others in the trust. That might be a good option for you.

I was paying $.99 a month for Apple storage. But then I upgraded my 16 GB phone to a 256 GB. I decided to cancel the Apple storage. I logged onto the cloud to find my old photos and now i can’t find my photos. Where are they? Do I need to go back on Apple storage monthly fee? I thought they were being stored in the cloud.
Hi Kellie, I am not entirely sure on this one. My guess is that all of your photos are still stored on iCloud. If you do need to pay to see those photos, then you should pay for the access, then move them off of iCloud and cancel the subscription. I hope this helps you.
Hi Sweet Manzano, Yes, basically every cloud storage service has this ability. They each run a little different. Look for a button that says "Share" and when you find that, you can usually type in an email address for the person that you'd like to share the file with.
If an institution buys education software such as ‘Evidence for Learning’ and the company says, they will provide ‘unlimited web logging’ -What does that mean, please. Thank you x
Hi Rhea, That should mean that the students will have unlimited logging in. I am not 100% sure on that, but that's what I would think it means. Basically, it should allow students to use the software as long as you've purchased it from the company.
Hi Sue, Yes, if you link the cloud to your computer, you can then upload directly within File Explorer, and you won't have to use a web browser. Here is a link that shows you how to do that in OneDrive: ruclips.net/video/rm_1O3Ku_6A/видео.html

Hi Mechelle, It depends on the provider, but you should just need to click the file to select it, then click delete if you want to remove it from the cloud.
Hi C Inglima, It depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to get a new password for a cloud account, you'll need to start a password recovery through the website. Click the 'forgot my password' link and you should be prompted to change it. I hope this helps you.

Regarding benefits and drawbacks to cloud services, here are some things to consider:
Benefits -
Won't take up hard drive space
You can access them from any device, including mobile devices
If your computer is lost/broken, you still have your files
You can sync them across each device so that you're not constantly using a flash drive or emailing files to yourself
Mos of the time, the service is free (up to a certain amount of storage)
Drawbacks-
You have to rely on the security and privacy of the company providing the cloud service, if the company is hacked, your files may not be safe
You cannot access the files without Internet, if the company website is down, you'll have connection issues
If your password is hacked or stolen, your files can be compromised
Only a small amount of storage space is free, if you have high content/media files, you'll run out of space
Let me know if you still want me to make a video on benefits and drawbacks or if this comment is enough. Thanks again for the comment, and have a great day.

what about synchronization.....if i modify a document on my computer, will it be automaticaly modify on my cloud as weel?
Hi Manikile,
Yes, as long as you're logged in to the cloud account on both devices and they're connected to the internet.
Thanks a lot sir.
What about working on documents stored on the cloud? What if 2 users are trying to edit the same file?
Thank you for the video. I would like to know: if I upload a file to The Cloud, how can my friend downlaod it on his co;puter ?
You would need to share that file first. How you do this depends on whatever cloud service you are using. Most will have a share option where you can enter the recipient''s email address and it will send them the link. You can set permissions. Again, exact options vary depending on the service.
If I’m starting a RUclips channel, is cloud good storage that I can use for videos? Thanks for any help; I’m a technology noob so I have a lot to learn but need to get my messages out 😁
Hi Britt,
I would use an external hard drive if space is limited on your computer's default hard drive. The cloud is great for many things, but video files are very large and it would quickly fill up the space on your cloud drive. I hope this helps.
i wish it was like where you can access it very easily, such as like a drive on your pc
Hi Cambo,
You actually can do that. I show you how in the series of videos below using Microsoft OneDrive. It goes directly into File Explorer:
OneDrive Tutorial: ruclips.net/video/0GRgqfc_ZXU/видео.html
Syncing OneDrive Tutorial: ruclips.net/video/rm_1O3Ku_6A/видео.html
I hope it helps.
@@ProfessorAdamMorgan oh thanks, i just realized i had that
Good I hope you like it.
Can I have cloud drive , eg Dropbox , google drive and Dropbox and one drive all one pc? I got a windows dell laptop
Hi Jacqueline,
Sure, you can download each of them from their websites and link them all in File Explorer if you really wanted to. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Great video. But sadly, it seems that most cloud services require that whatever data you upload also gets saved on the PC.
I buy 1TB of cloud storage
I upload 500GB from an external hard drive
I'm told I can't continue to upload anymore because my C:/ drive is full up
I locate and delete the data from my C:/ drive freeing up the space
The data is also deleted from the cloud service
I check my cloud service settings, to see if there's a way of keeping it on the cloud only
There isn't.
I google the issue, only to discover that many people have this complaint and it's perfectly normal for cloud data to be forcibly backed up on the PC
Beware of OneDrive, iCloud and DropBox. Google Drive has started allowing this, but they don't have a PC drag-and-drop facility.
Hi anicetune,
I haven't experienced this, but I also don't have 500GB worth of files on the cloud. With such large file sizes, you'd certainly have to pay the premium service for most cloud providers. I haven't had a problem with deleting original data from the C drive, but this is good information to know. Thank you for watching!
Hey, what is the best cloud server for business?
One question. How do u move files from BOX to internal storage on Samsung?? Thanks
Hi,
You would need to copy and paste it to your phones SD card if it has one. You'll need to find what your phone's internal storage is called on your device. I wouldn't be able to help you without seeing your phone on this one, sorry!
@@ProfessorAdamMorgan thanks man 🙏ur a life saver!!
No problem, have a great day!
How do you save pictures off the cloud?
Hi Michelle,
Depends on the program, but you should just need to click the picture to select it, then click Download.
Hi Chandan,
Once you add a file to the cloud, it's synced to the provider's secure online service.
How should I
go about deleting
files from the cloud and my phone at the same time for things that I realize I don't need backed up? I use galaxy phones if that helps.
If you're using Google Photos, you can delete photos you don't want from the app. Then, if that photo is also stored on your phone, it will ask you if you want to delete it from the device as well.
very useful info, thankss!! but instead of Google I prefer to use Internxt, it is a decentralized Cloud with encryption that saves privacy
Wow finlly a non-meme comment section. Btw very infirmative
Yeah, I'm thankful for that too. Most of my comments actually relate to the video. Thanks for watching!
does cloud storage use symmetric or asymmetric encryption
I'm sorry Thomas, I don't know the answer to that.

Confused. Thank you
Hi Dannus,
It's possible that your new Lenovo desktopdoesn't have as much hard drive space as your last computer.
You did a great job, thank you very much, when you discuss the rest of it. Can you please let us know
Hi Omar,
Sure, I have a videos posted on OneDrive. I still have to get around to making Dropbox/iCloud/Drive tutorials, but this one should get you going in the right direction. Thanks for watching my video and have a nice day!

I want to create an app where user can buy video courses. Where should I store my video and how to play in the app. Please help me. I am an android developer but have no experience with online video playing and managing.
Hi Dibakar,
You should probably store the videos on an external hard drive or your computer's hard drive, if not both. I wouldn't use the cloud for this due to the fact that the file sizes will be very large since they're video files. Also, you don't want to have your content posted on the cloud in case the cloud provider is hacked. I hope this helps you out.
What about personal clouds like lima
Hi James,
Lima seems like a good product from what I've read. I've never used it, but it should be great at backing up personal files.
I'm in charge of a living trust and the one that we all live in different states would a cloud be the right thing for keeping Communications open and secure just between 4 people in four people only
Hi David,
You could use Google Drive to store the trust on the cloud so all parties can view it. You would need to share the file with the others in the trust. That might be a good option for you.
@@ProfessorAdamMorgan thanks for the reply Professor Morgan have a good one bro
No problem, have a great day.
Good morning Sir.
How can I store to the cloud in my I phone ?
Good presentation but i was expecting practical example from your work using at least one of the cloud services.
Hi Dominic,
I have a video on OneDrive Cloud Storage that covers more about how to use cloud storage. This video was just covering mostly what it is. Check this video out to learn more, thanks for watching!
ruclips.net/video/0GRgqfc_ZXU/видео.html
As this topic is aimed at total beginners including the more aged I think it would be helpful to just slow down the speech a little.
Thus is common with many tutorial for beginners
Can I also Use it to store a 1gb file so my storage won't have too much 1gb files?
Hi Akakakk,
Yes, you can store it on the cloud so it doesn't take up space on your hard drive.
can you use all 4 on an iPhone?
Yes, if you really want to.
Hi itseddieleung,
Sure, you would just download each of the apps, create accounts and sign in. I hope this helps!
Your very soft speaking
Sorry MsStephaine456, I didn't set up my mic properly before this video.

not loud enough
Sorry Jane, it's an early recording when I was still figuring out the sound settings on my microphone.
you should be able to amplify the audio in any editing software - this is a great video otherwise! thanks!!
Earphones made it great!
good info-speak louder to the microphone
Thanks Eve, it was an early video and I hadn't set up my mic correctly yet. Thanks for watching!
Hi Kellie,
I am not entirely sure on this one. My guess is that all of your photos are still stored on iCloud. If you do need to pay to see those photos, then you should pay for the access, then move them off of iCloud and cancel the subscription. I hope this helps you.
Can we make the file that we uploaded go public?
Hi Sweet Manzano,
Yes, basically every cloud storage service has this ability.
Thank you x
Hi Rhea,
That should mean that the students will have unlimited logging in. I am not 100% sure on that, but that's what I would think it means. Basically, it should allow students to use the software as long as you've purchased it from the company.
Professor Adam Morgan Thank you and I assume the software ‘Evidence for Learning’ is SAAS?
Hi Rhea, I am sorry, but I am not familiar with that software so I am not sure.
Can a person upload info from hard drive?
Hi Sue,
Yes, if you link the cloud to your computer, you can then upload directly within File Explorer, and you won't have to use a web browser. Here is a link that shows you how to do that in OneDrive:

So Google Drive is an example of Cloud software?
Hi Ming Sheng,
Yes, Google Drive is an example of Cloud software. It's a Web App since it's used in a Web Browser and it's constantly changing and being updated. I hope this helps.
Heyyyy thankyou!!
So the provider has a big storage device where when you upload your data, it gets stored
I Use 4shared and Mega,Dropbox,Pcloud...Good
Yes, I have heard great things about those platforms as well! Thanks for watching.
Info would be a lot more effective if the audio is more clear.
Sorry T P, it was an earlier video on my channel and I didn't know what I was doing yet. Thanks for watching.
How to delete stuff off from the cloud?
Hi Mechelle,
It depends on the provider, but you should just need to click the file to select it, then click delete if you want to remove it from the cloud.
On ipad speaker I don't hear anything please revise your mic
Hi Hamed,
Yeah, I kind of messed up the audio on this video. I'll make an updated version with better audio and post it on my channel page.
Someone said the cloud is someone else's computer 😊
how do i get a new pass word
Help
Hi C Inglima,
It depends on what you're trying to do. If you're trying to get a new password for a cloud account, you'll need to start a password recovery through the website. Click the 'forgot my password' link and you should be prompted to change it. I hope this helps you.
The sound can hardly be heard
Sorry WealthAcademy, this was an early video on my channel and I didn't have my sound settings correct.
What happens when my cloud is out of storage and I'm trying to download pictures to Dropbox?

Soooooooooo just encrypt a USB drive. Even though "they" are able to retrieve anything on a card/chip
