Thanks for taking me along on the BBQ Crawl...Living in Arizona I get Brisket and Pulled Pork from two different BBQ joints as neither can master both....Love cooking Texas style on my BBQ Patio..Cheers Brotha..
The meal at Slaps looked amazing. Lol guess some of the food is not up to Texas grade eh. Funny didn't like the pickle either. Stay safe & take care of you all. Thanks for sharing eh :))
Thanks for sharing. It was hilarious watching your facial reactions. Sorry you had to endure that. The place seems popular, the standards of BBQ in Kansas City must be considerably lower than they are in some parts of Texas. I am reading comments that Q39, and Joe's are great, but that seems to be it. There is just only one BBQ joint in Southern California where I live, which I really love, but CA is not known for great BBQ. I am disappointed to hear Kansas City is not much better.
Cool video, you had me laughing at your expressions when eating the brisket but when you tried that pickle at the end! 🤣🤣 And I always heard KC bbq was good.
I think KC is more famous for their steaks than BBQ. As far as the Jack's Stack's, looks like a nice eatery but sometimes a nice restaurant doesn't necessarily translate into better food. I still prefer hole in the wall style places for BBQ and burgers.
@@doylebbq4329I've always heard KC is famous for their steaks but I've never had their BBQ. I suppose it depends where you go. If I want the best Philly Cheese Steaks, I go to Philadelphia, Pa. If I want the best thin crust pizza I go to Brooklyn, NY, and so on.
@@TheFlatlander440 I've lived here my whole life and yes we have good steaks I never knew us to be known for them lol, but maybe we are. I love Texas BBQ, but nothing to me beats good KC BBQ
You did not hit the top places. You hit all the corporatized places. With the exception of slaps..you cannot have a crawl in KC without going to Joes KC bbq and Danny edwards place…
They must be catering for vegans. 100% concentration on the beans, dropped the ball, walked away, spent 3 hours on Facebook while preparing the brisket 😖😖😖
Hahahahahaha! Your reaction to the brisket "WTF IS THAT?" Cool video bro! 🤘#saynotopaperthinbrisket
Bro, that stuff was definitely different. Nothing like Texas BBQ.

I’ll be heading to Arizona in December so I’m hoping to be able to try some BBQ while I’m there.
Good content keep it coming… thanks
good video James. It was like hanging out.

Texas is KING OF BBQ!! Those briskets looked like they were pre cooked briskets. Lol
Yeah, they definitely weren't Texas briskets.
James, take a big swig of beer and Burp! You'll be able to eat!

We ask multiple people where we should go and all these places were recommended, that's why we went there.

It definitely was different from Texas BBQ.
👍🏻 go get em brother James!
I had a great pulled pork sandwich at Jack Stack. Classy BBQ joint. Gates is ok. Y'all should've went to Joe's, and Q39. Waaaay better.
I tried to tell you to check out Q39 and Rosedale BBQ! Maybe next time you are in KC.
If you ever go again give Big T's and Joe's KC (formerly Oklahoma Joe's) a try.
I'm from Kansas and whenever we wanted real BBQ, we traveled to Gates. I moved away from the area to Texas and haven't had Gates in several years.
We tried to go to Gates but they were closed for some reason.

Not even close, KC is known for it's BBQ especially burnt ends, but you have to go to the right places.

No potato salad in KC? Come on, man!
James, if you ever make it back to Jack Stack's, try their smoked bone-in pork chop. It is probably the best I have ever had!
Slaps is always good ! And not overpriced
I thought it was good. Different, but good.
😎🍻
James next time, rib tips and the best baked beans @ LCs,brisket, burnt ends at Q39,ribs,brisket @Joeskc,best bbq on Saturday only pop up Harp bbq
I definitely want to give it another try. I'll make sure to hit up those other places next time.
Should have gone to Joe's
WELL I WONT BE GPOING TO THOSE PLACES ILL STICK TO MY OWN BBQ LOL
Slaps is Good … And LC’S …. Gates is a local chain …. McDonald’s of BBQ
These were all places that were recommended to us by multiple people so.
Jack Stacks is HORRIBLE! My wife and I walked out and left the food on the table. The only thing worse are boiled ribs.
It's odd that Slap's had all the meat already sliced before you order, second place looked really bad. Hurry back to Texas brother.
Yeah, I was really surprised that all their meats were pre-cut.

No bark is DEFINITELY NOT KC STYLE! Looked like a bad day at slaps for some reason. Normally they are on point.
Yeah, I was really surprised at how the brisket had zero bark.

well you didn't go to any of the best places. Gates, Bryant's, Q39 and there are 150 more BBQ joints you could have went to.
When we asked around these were the places that were recommended to us.
Probably the three worst places in KC
