This is some crazy good stuff Chris. Like even tho the cutoff time to reply in our class is over I still gotta comment that I think this vid is really cool. The connection between monstrous creatures of the past (such as that of the Leviathan) and modern kaijus such as Godzilla was a connection I did not make before until now; which I am surprised about ngl since it makes sense when you think abt it. I especially dig tf out of the inclusion of the GTA 3 theme. Hopefully Prof. Holtzman gives you good marks for this 👍
Thank you! I struggled to make a video like this for a while because I feel I only make good stuff when I have a true interest in the topic, and finding the topic of monstrous humans vs human monsters took a while. Fortunately for me, your insight on how Iron Man is a nuclear film gave me even more inspiration to pursue other topics, even unrelated to nuclear cinema; it taught me to look at a question in not just many ways, but many unique ways. As I mentioned in class, Iron Man is a phenomenal film to classify as “nuclear” because the origins of the character himself stem from his use of nuclear technology, thus making all following actions of his life inherently nuclear by nature. Thinking in that way will definitely save me a lot of time in the future on other projects. (And I’m glad someone picked up on the GTA 3 soundtrack)
