It looks dramatic on my screen. What it must feel like being there in the cab driving through that weather must be on another level. And then again, our wonderful herding lady takes it all in her stride!! Be safe, HCG and keep warm. 😉
I was a military pilot for many years and this video reminds me of how it is trying to land an airplane in a snow storm. Very little visibility and lots of pucker factor.
At that day we drove 2 work trains to clear the snow off the track, normally there is only one at the evening/nights, but it was so much snow coming all the time we had to have 2 teams working haha
WOW, that last big drift affected the headlights a lot. I was really surprised at how big a difference it was. Thank you so much for sharing all these lovely videos. I now live in Florida & I miss the snow so much this time of year. I love watching your videos while I type away at work.
I have been in that type of weather all day and the thought of hauling butt and never thinking about sliding into a tree is a little exciting. After seeing the dogs and a beer and a bowl it is a cool trippy vid and I could easily watch another 38 min of this outstanding vid. Thanks
Dramatic sitting in a warm room. But at 60Kmh plunging into drifts and white out. With a train load of passengers...is a different game.. route knowledge, familiarity with the loco or train then the confidence factor of “seen it before”, all needs to be in place to keep the throttle open and not brake.....this is normal for winter in Norway we are used to it.......mmmmm yess but not us watching on RUclips . Thanks for using your camera to record your working life. Amacf
You can thank the crazy way the railways were privatised. The train companies make money if they have to cancel because of the weather, at Network Rail's expense, and can do so unilaterally.
@@classicalmick Well, they have the kind of axles that hammering through snow requires, mainly because they get the kind of weather often enough that it makes the extra cost essential. Here, less so. Doesn't take anything away from the fact that I can cancel your train tomorrow, despite it being fully-booked, and make serious money on it, because that's the way the rules are.
Same with Sweden. A few years ago there were no problems. But nowadays leaves and single snowflakes will take down the whole national railway system completely and totally.
Just seeing this video for first time. Wow. I can't imagine doing what you do. Be safe. The videos are unbelievable, especially to me who lives in the deep south of SLIDELL LA🇺🇲
The last snowdrift was at Larsbu. Around 4 km east of Finse. Well known spot. Freighttrain 5511 from Oslo to Bergen was stuck at in big snowdrifts Larsbu 20 march year 2000. But it was much more snow on the mountain then than now.
How fast do drive in this snow ? And how easy / difficult is it to spot the signals.....unless you get them right on your panel inside ? Amazing video. You would have to have a real good knowledge of that track ? .......I hope .....Cuz I am traveling from Bergen to Finse next month :))
...and there are people around who say "snowflakes" like it's an inconsequential thing! Stay warm, ma'am, and keep the wheels on the underside, and moving forwards
Do you ever have a problem with the wipers accumulating ice, requiring you to step outside the train and bang the wipers against the windshield, to knock the ice off?
Wow HinduCowGirl I thought we were a goner on the third snow drift but you pulled us thorough. Great driving because I had my eyes closed most of the time. lol
know that this may sound like a strange question but is it possible that if it keeps snowing hard enough that the tracks can get completely Buried, enough that the trains cant actually travel on them?
Hey! Love your vids. They’ve made me start planning a vacation to Norge. I have many questions regarding the rules of operating on Norwegian railways, but I will only ask two today. What are the rules regarding train speed in poor visibility like this? Not really a rule question..... how were you able to leave the train cab to film the secret room in the tunnel?
This is scary, thrilling, and heart pounding all at once. Just be safe out there HCG. And thanks for the vid.
Какой вы молодец 😘

I'm from INDIA ,, I really like the name of your channel and the concept behind your name is absolutely right!!
I can see why this portion of track used to be hard to keep open in the winter. The tunnels are really needed. Great vid.
🥰🥰🍅

Ты супер 👏
id imagine driving a train on rails is easier than landing a jet aircraft. Although i had no experience with both, so i truly dont know
At that day we drove 2 work trains to clear the snow off the track, normally there is only one at the evening/nights, but it was so much snow coming all the time we had to have 2 teams working haha

Me too. Grew up near Chicago and live in Florida now. Only thing I don't miss about snow is shoveling it!
I was born and raised in Chicago and I now live in central Arkansas. No I do not miss all of that snow during the winter.
I'm definitely in the minority since most would say they don't miss the snow. I'm probably one of the few who will retire & move north. Lol
It's pretty amazing how much snow you drag into the tunnels.
This beats any thing that I’ve seen on RUclips.👍👍👍👍👍👌
You are taking this genre to new levels again HCG! Waiting for the rest of this! :-)
Thank You, prayers and good thoughts for your safety!!!!👏😁
Fabulous ! Thank you so much for posting - we have heard how insane your schedule is
Love it! I enjoy train driver's views in snowy weather.
That is like a clip out of a horror movie. I expected zombies to appear on the track at any moment.
Hallo.. Es ist ein guter Winter. Solche Winter 😥😥😥 vermissen wir
OMG that was top shelf quality, Thanks 😊 HCG

Wonderful snow impression, unfortunately the video is very short. Hope there will be more, dear HCG
There will be more :D I just need to edit the whole video :D
@@RailCowGirl Not only will I be happy, but your whole fan community. I'm really curious when your new video project is ready for the premiere: D
Hopefully the full version will come soon 👍👍
The speed up was pretty much scary when it's snowy, not easy to do it with those conditions, God bless you girl.
Bellissimo viaggiare in treno mentre nevica!!!!!
HCG, you are a brave soul! This is scary!
Amazing footage! In the UK trains get stopped for 'leaves on the track'!!
All I can say is wow, that was awesome, take care out there

Knowledge, skill, confidence, .........and a substantial dose of faith that all is well ahead.
Really like this blizzard video. Gets scary when the snow covers the window.. Really cool!
Wow - this was rather spectacular!
That was awesome! Please do more snowy nights. Thank you
thanks for sharing such e thrilling video
Its all ov blow. Keep up the great views
Okay this video is pretty intense!
Holy crap! The pantograph/Overhead didn't seem so enthusiastic about it! Exhilarating stuff HCG!
WOW dark and spooky not being able to see the track or anything else🚇
It is funny that in england the trains are cancelled if we get a few centimetres.
You can thank the crazy way the railways were privatised. The train companies make money if they have to cancel because of the weather, at Network Rail's expense, and can do so unilaterally.
@@michaelmacdonell4834 Nothing to do with privatisation.Trains in Norway are designed for snow.

Wow, Great Video! I had to watch it twice...👍🤗
wow I bet that was challenging.I loved it
I have the same weather today. The snow storm starts at 7 a.m., when I was on my way to my work. The single exception is wind - 25 meters per second.
Любопытно, непривычно и увлекательно...
Thank you!

Unicorn balls :p

WOW!! Thank you for this amazing action. Have you ever had a bent plough?
Молодец 👏
Fantastic! Do you have more of this winter night trip?
After watching this intense ride I needed another glass of wine to recover !!!!!!!
Hell yeah! Get some RCG! 🦁
really nice video!
Great stuff and at my favourite part of the line too. ❤️
Plow action! I'm in
It reminds me of my days driving big trucks in the Pacific Northwest and Canada 😺😆😁🙃👍

You have nothing to fear :) you don’t get certified for the line without proper knowledge :)
@@RailCowGirl How fast were you going in this video?
Some of that looks terrifying 😮
...and there are people around who say "snowflakes" like it's an inconsequential thing! Stay warm, ma'am, and keep the wheels on the underside, and moving forwards
That would scare the crap out of me. I certainly felt nervous just watching it.
That's what you call a 'Cow Plough! Brilliant video. More like that please!

I looove me some plow action :)
Your Tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker!
Awesome video thank you
Sitting in the german High speed train ICE and watching train videos
what's the standard operating procedure if signal visibility is obstructed? do you rely on ATP?
I'm not sure "thrilling" is how I would define plow-induced whiteout at night, but hey to each their own :D
😂
That takes courage!
Do you ever have a problem with the wipers accumulating ice, requiring you to step outside the train and bang the wipers against the windshield, to knock the ice off?
Hey HCG, what can happen if because of snowdrifts you miss some signs? Like those for sound signal or speed limits?
Thrilling video! Question: Do you feel it when the loco hits drifts this large? Do they slow the train? Thanks!
I hope you have a nice heater in your cab, and I bet you have learned the route well enough to know where to look for signals!
Very cool!
WOW. NICE video. LIKE.
As long as you have proceed signals sit back and enjoy the ride. Don’t have to worry about steering, seeing the white line or oncoming traffic.
Wow.
Wow HinduCowGirl I thought we were a goner on the third snow drift but you pulled us thorough. Great driving because I had my eyes closed most of the time. lol
😂
Thank you. Coward that I am, I sit here in Cafe drinking a nice hot coffee. Thanks again. Brrrr. Can't wait for streaming VR to become commonplace.
Oh woww
That amazing and scary
That looks miserably cold. 🥶
Takk :))
Dreadful weather conditions to be out and about, for sure.
Thanks !
Thanks for watching!
Nice video. But could be even better if you get the large plow from the tunnel room.
i´m just curious. Are there speed limits when the weather gets really bad?
p5u1k yes, it feels very fast
I got the impression she was driving at _normal_ speed in this video
@@YozhikvTumane That were my thoughts too, but I would like to know in general if there are any rules for really bad weather conditions.
@@p5u1k I'm guessing these conditions aren't bad enough ;)
Pretty stressful conditions. At least trains generally follow the right path by themselves!
I'm thinking that might make it just a little tough to see the signals.
For me as layman this seems very dangerous, considering the speed with which you drive, but I don't know if it is really that dangerous.
The windshield wipers in Switzerland would break.
Wow! 😳😳😳😳
Thanks!
