I have the Peak Designs (45L, not the 30L), the Pakt and the Minaal 3.0. They're all great. The Peak Designs failed me when the rivots broke under load while travelling. Admittedly I just grabbed the bag while it was holding a bit more than I usually carry. It was replaced (PD support is awesome). The Pakt is VERY handy but I struggle with it on longer trips. I use it more for shorter getaways of a few days or less. The Minaal is my new favorite. It appears at home in any travel situation. Going to take it on a 2 week cruise in a few months. Packing cubes & a good dopp kit are certainly the way to go with them all.
@@youngvet1993 sorry for delay but just returned from holiday abroad. Hey there! We're glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. The Minaal backpack is definitely a great option for travelers looking for a functional and stylish backpack. Thanks for watching!
I have been traveling all over Asia/USA/Australia with a 54 Liter pack. Airlines usually ask me to check my backpack if the aircraft I am flying on is a small commuter prop type. Don't sweat Delta or the major American carriers. The one exception is JETSTAR in Australia/New Zealand, which has not a size but a weight requirement.
I feel as a carry on travel backpack - weight should be front and centre of the review. Budget airlines are particularly painful with weighing carry on bags. one airline sets it at 7kg. So that automatically rules out the Pakt at 2kg. A 13inch MacBook is about 1.3kg. And yes - I have my phone, charger, keys, battery and even a book hidden under my jacket to pass through the weigh in. Ive had AER, Pakt, Nomatic, north face duffle and fuse box. all great bags but still trying to find the bag that is light ideally at 1.2kg or less, not overly complicated and strong. Now looking at hiking backpacks as a possiblilty. rain covers are important also but that can be bought separate.
Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding the weight of carry-on travel backpacks. We understand that budget airlines can be quite strict with their carry-on weight restrictions, and we appreciate your insight on the importance of having a lightweight bag. We will certainly take this into consideration when reviewing and recommending travel backpacks in the future. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us!
I use farpoint 40 s/m 1.4 kg of backpack, 1.3 macbook, then my canon cam, mic ... an ultralight tripod 1,2 more.. wires, charger some must have things another 0.5 kg . i use an ultralight water protect backpack (10 L )for daily use. around 0.2 kg. Welcome to my 2.4 kg bag. I should made an vlog about that 🙂 p.s . 10k mha powerbank , iphone, airpods, card holder , passpport ,keys.. some cash..... on a spall pouch. usualli i still keep it inside of farpoint.

I purchased the Hive on a whim, it was EXPENSIVE (I got all the accessories with it ((minus the camera organizer)). I LOVE this bag it’s amazing for someone like me who packs like a moron. I use it on quick trips to Orlando and short weekend jaunts. Biggest complaint is that when the bag is full, that laptop sleeve ain’t fittin NOTHING. But I usually don’t need to travel with my tablet/ laptop so I’m okay with that.. for now
My favourite and the one I went with in the end is the Life Behind Bars Peloton Asphalt. 👍 An absolute beast. Killer bag in particular for anyone who cycle commutes, but I've travelled with it as well
Been watching your backpack videos for a while now, great reviews (and I keep buying more AER bags because of it) I was just wondering if you would consider reviewing some of the Rapha backpacks. Their travel backpacks have similar features compared to Aer. Keep up the great content.

Hi Zac great review,I was looking at Pakt travel backpack, ill be traveling for 10 days in Europe by train ,will the Pakt be enough to use as I only want to use it for carry on and have no check in,thanks.
The Pakt Travel Backpack has a capacity of 35 liters, which is generally considered sufficient for 10 days of travel, assuming you pack efficiently and don't bring too many bulky items. Since you mentioned that you plan to only use it as a carry-on, the size of the backpack is also an important consideration. The Pakt Travel Backpack's dimensions are 22 x 12.5 x 7.5 inches. Overall, the Pakt Travel Backpack could be a suitable option for a 10-day trip to Europe, as long as you pack efficiently and stay within the carry-on size limits. Keep in mind that you may need to do laundry or hand-wash clothes during your trip if you're traveling with only one backpack, so plan accordingly.

We're glad you found my recommendations for the 6 best travel backpacks of 2023 helpful:) These brands have gained popularity due to their dedication to creating backpacks tailored for the needs of modern travelers. Hi there! I tried to check, but unfortunately, I couldn't confirm the brand of the sunglasses. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. Cheers!
The materials and design seem to me great for heavier loads. I found the back panel to be one of the most comfortable but it's obviously at a cost for weight.
30L is too small. 45L carry on bags are ok for flights in Europe. and is common to see popular trolley bags bigger than size limits allowed on. Not sure about long haul flights
While it's true that a 30L backpack may be considered small for some travelers, the ideal size of a travel backpack depends on personal preferences and the duration of your trip. Many travelers find that a 30L backpack is sufficient for shorter trips or if they prefer to travel light. However, for longer journeys or if you need to carry more items, a larger backpack like a 45L can be more suitable. Regarding carry-on bag sizes for flights in Europe, the general guideline for most airlines is that the carry-on luggage should not exceed certain dimensions, usually around 55x40x20cm (21.6x15.7x7.9 inches). While a 45L backpack may fit within these limits, it's important to note that the volume capacity alone does not determine whether a bag is suitable as a carry-on. The dimensions and weight restrictions set by the airline are the primary factors to consider. It's worth mentioning that some popular trolley bags or suitcases may appear larger than the allowed size limits, but they often comply when not fully expanded or stuffed to the maximum. However, it's always recommended to check the specific requirements of the airline you'll be flying with to ensure compliance. As for long-haul flights, the carry-on size restrictions can vary depending on the airline and the specific flight route. Some airlines may have more lenient size allowances for long-haul flights, while others may enforce stricter limits. It's advisable to review the guidelines provided by the airline before your trip to avoid any issues or unexpected charges. Ultimately, the choice of backpack size depends on your travel style, duration, and the specific requirements of your airline. It's always a good idea to double-check the size and weight restrictions with your airline to ensure a hassle-free travel experience.
