A good wetsuit should last any triathlete several seasons. However, accidents do happen. If you are putting on your wetsuit in a hurry or rushing in transition, small tears in the neoprene can appear. Rather than buying a new wetsuit, check out GTN's guide to wetsuit repair.
You only need 3 items to complete this job:
Neoprene glue
Cotton bud/matchstick
Tissue
This is a great repair job to do as the triathlon season draws to a close to make sure your kit is in the best possible condition when you brush the dust off next season!
Good luck with this, and let us know how you get on in the comments below 👇

How many holes does your wetsuit have? Let us know in the comments below 👇
Global Triathlon Network Too many
Global Triathlon Network i have 5 holes in mine :P
None after 3 years, but some of the seams are getting dodgy. I'm probably just getting fat
I got 4
Only one! 😃🙌🏽 Got it while trying it on 😂🙈🙈
Sealed all the holes with glue - how do I put the suit on now?
Haha that's good
Achim Edes use duck tape, bro!
Very clever Achim, very clever! Leave the 5 big holes with no glue!!
Hah! Good one!
I'm really enjoying GTN. I've been practicing Sprint triathlon 18months from now here in Brazil.
Thanks to bring us so much good information about the triathlon World.
It would be Nice if you guys bring something about Xterra triathlon!
Watch this space Plinio!
Great video, keep it up GTN. How about a video on cutting your wetsuit legs slightly shorter for super speedy T1? I want to do this but am nervous about taking a blade to my beloved neoprene!
Thank you for the video! Just tried on my wetsuit for the second time recently and it ripped right at the cuff seam 😕😆
I actually enjoyed this video, this voice is much nicer to hear heather :) keep it going, this channel is already amazing
Brilliant - Black Witch adhesive does the job and the video is great. Thanks.
Thanks for uploading I only have 2 small holes so should be easy to fix
I put iron mend from inside of small tear part as patch, too.
2:24 Heather is "kicking" the ball :D GFN coming next?
It's like what happened to Matt years ago. He predicted GTN.
I dropped a gel 10 minutes before a half and bent over to pick it up and ripped a hole about 10 cm across a seam. It was a rough start to a rough day :)
That's terrible luck! Hope the race went better after this 🤞
Are those Heather's Olympic Gold Medals? They look awesome in the background.
I thought she was a silver medalist?
Yes, you are right (I searched again the first videos). Those medals look great, nonetheless. No matter what they are for.
You are right (I rewatched the first videos :D ). They look great, nonetheless. No matter what they are for.
Thank You For This Video!
Thanks!
Thanks for the video really usefull
thanks
How to deal with seam rips?
lots of 1 - 2 cm tears in both underarm areas of my < 2 year old wet suit. Gluing only solves the problem until next use then a whole bunch of new tears spring up. Should I buy a new suit?
what if it's full of holes under the armpits? Is there a good fabric to patch all the holes?
Hello very nice video!! Can I ask you one question? I have a nice tyr cat 1 wetsuit who has the arms destroyed
By many cut and giant hole!) I have repaired it randomly and bad but keep
Breaking every swim. Do you think I can cut the arms to make the wetsuit a sleeveless? And how if yes?
i have a chest zip that ripped in the neck opening under the zipper flap. do i need to sew it or would the glue be enough?
Hi do the patches stick onto smooth skin ok?
How do you tell when it's time to replace a wetsuit?
It's very difficult to answer however it's definitely worth replacing when you feel that the performance of the suit is dropping.
Do I need to repair a wetsuit if its like a blister type damage? It does not go all the way through the wetsuit.
What wetsuit do you use?!
Worse my wetsuit for the first time Today and put a hole in it ugh
Same thing happened to me today.
This year we have a much better solution. ULOW Liquid PVC, without patches and very fast.
Wellcome to test.
