  • Repairing a wetsuit is easier than you think and can save a lot of money! Here is GTN's simple guide to repairing a triathlon wetsuit tear using neoprene specific glue.

    A good wetsuit should last any triathlete several seasons. However, accidents do happen. If you are putting on your wetsuit in a hurry or rushing in transition, small tears in the neoprene can appear. Rather than buying a new wetsuit, check out GTN's guide to wetsuit repair.
    You only need 3 items to complete this job:
    Neoprene glue
    Cotton bud/matchstick
    Tissue
    This is a great repair job to do as the triathlon season draws to a close to make sure your kit is in the best possible condition when you brush the dust off next season!
    Good luck with this, and let us know how you get on in the comments below 👇

    Great video, keep it up GTN. How about a video on cutting your wetsuit legs slightly shorter for super speedy T1? I want to do this but am nervous about taking a blade to my beloved neoprene!

    I dropped a gel 10 minutes before a half and bent over to pick it up and ripped a hole about 10 cm across a seam. It was a rough start to a rough day :)

    How to deal with seam rips?

  • @pdcole2
    @pdcole2 5 лет назад

    lots of 1 - 2 cm tears in both underarm areas of my < 2 year old wet suit. Gluing only solves the problem until next use then a whole bunch of new tears spring up. Should I buy a new suit?

  • @kahotamph

    what if it's full of holes under the armpits? Is there a good fabric to patch all the holes?

    Hello very nice video!! Can I ask you one question? I have a nice tyr cat 1 wetsuit who has the arms destroyed
    By many cut and giant hole!) I have repaired it randomly and bad but keep
    Breaking every swim. Do you think I can cut the arms to make the wetsuit a sleeveless? And how if yes?

    How do you tell when it's time to replace a wetsuit?

    • @gtn
      @gtn  7 лет назад

      It's very difficult to answer however it's definitely worth replacing when you feel that the performance of the suit is dropping.

    Do I need to repair a wetsuit if its like a blister type damage? It does not go all the way through the wetsuit.
