I remember that weekend well Robert. I was at Notre Dame park in camper and left and came home. Horrible weather this spring. I will miss seeing Molly on your trips but I went through the same thing with my Lab. You will remember your trips with her while sitying around your fire.
Awesome overnighter amigo...I barely remember the nice weather trips myself, its those trips where your dealing with the elements that stand out most...atvb...MTwoods
Really loved the video. So glad you attempted it...I'm sure it was fun even tho getting rained out. Sorry to hear we won't be seeing much of Molly...but she'll be comfortable at home for sure. Great video.,.can't wait for more
Great video! New subsciber here. That looks like a nasty rain and wind. That's awesome that you seen so many moose. Going to check out the rest of your video's now. Keep posting!
Great Trip. Shitty weather but the scenery is wicked. Nice to see a good, healthy Moose population around, looking forward to the next video with the Pooches.
Good luck with the twig stove. I’m not the most experienced camper in the world, but I’ve tried a couple. Personally I hate those "gasifier" ones. They’re too tall and skinny to be stable, and finicky to keep going, all in the name of reducing smoke thanks to secondary combustion. I gave up on them, and switched to a Firebox. Love both the full size and nano. Only problem is the stainless is pretty heavy, especially if you have extras. It’s easier to get going, and once you learn the tricks, way easier to keep going. One tip, fold some aluminum foil a few times, and use it to stop burning underneath the stove.
Thanks for the tip! I've tried several different twig stoves now and each have their advantages and disadvantages! Like I said, this Toaks version is very light and nests inside my pot, but it doesn't burn as efficiently as some of the other ones I've tried and it is a little on the tipsy side!
Wow that's a nice twig stove and titanium too! I have a cheap steel one and it's great very useful but heavy and hard to justify carrying in a pack. I find it works so much better if I put a few big saw cut branch pieces at the bottom, like 1.5" diameter and 2 or 3" length. That keeps the airflow at the bottom from clogging with ash and keeps the fire going with less maintenance. I got that from Lost Lakes, he said "build your fire upside down".
I was so excited when I saw that you had a new video.
Keep them coming.👍
