Dublin is a great city. People are amazing here. The country, and Dublin city itself is so beautiful that it makes sense that its a city of literature. There are many fortune five hundred companies in the City, they surely benefit from the lower corporate tax. However, where is our actual contribution to bring post-Brexit companies here? Is Dublin really ready, or ready at all? Imagine a handful of top companies come to Dublin, a few thousands high skilled, talents will come to the city with them.
    1. Where will they live? In cupboard?
The city's rental crisis is so high, seems there is no control an literally anything. And the true story is hardly reported for obvious reasons. Things are controlled by a few money makers. Everyone is blaming each other with apparently "educated-sounding" words.
    2. How would they commute to work?
Imagine a few thousands new workers really arrived in Dublin tomorrow, and started living in cupboards. How would they arrive to office, waking up before 5 AM, and walk, jump, swim, take train, tram, change trams by literally walking miles gap between two track. Or by Dublin Bike where bicycle shares path with Bus, and bus runs at a speed of bike.
I personally, would love to see more big companies come to Ireland, create jobs, that we badly need. However, inviting a loads of guests before a restaurant is barely ready, eco-system is barely holding the load will severely damage the reputation in the long term. This video, as well as most of the moves shown here have anything related to long term planning, which is common to many other things in Dublin.
I would sat, first, a) we need to work hard, b) thing broader, c) deploy passionate and brilliant people in right places, d) make long term strategic contingency planning, e) prepare ourselves and only then welcome post Brexit companies to Ireland. That's the only way ahead for a sustainable growth.
