Great video! He has grown alot since I seen in the other video
Thank you! Yes he's gotten big and I'm pretty sure he won't get any bigger. I am going to upgrade him to a bigger enclosure as soon as I have more space.
Great video I’m glad you showed how you prepare his meal. And what type foods you use. I’m planning on getting a blue tongue skink in a few months still doing research on them.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful! You'll enjoy having a skink, they are so awesome! That's good you're researching way before getting one. I'm happy to answer any questions, if you ever need help in your research.
@@AnimalLoverChanL okay thank you. I will definitely have questions when I get one.
Toooo cuteeeeeeeee
Good work. My wife has been out of town and I have been taking care of ours. We also have quail. A quail egg is ok right?
Thank you. Yes, a quail egg is perfectly fine to give once in a while and either raw or cooked. It shouldn't be the main food. I give egg as a treat.
Would you say that a repashi only diet could work? Or do I have to switch it up? I do give my skink treats aside from the repashi but for the most part ive only fed him this.
you theoretically could, but with most animals (including skinks), variety is key. In the wild skinks will eat pretty much anything they come across. I mean, I wouldn't wanna be eating the same exact meal every time either
@@loredraws5395 make sense I figured, I have been introducing other treats as well
He's beautiful!! Where did you get him and what kind is he??
I agree! he IS beautiful!! I bought him online from a breeder and it appears that breeder is no longer selling blue tongue skinks. The online store MorphMarket is a good place to find skinks and other reptiles sold by reputable breeders. My skink is a Northern Blue Tongue Skink (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia). It is the largest of skinks. And I think the easiest kind to care for.
Here's some more of my skink video's in case you're more interested. ruclips.net/p/PLJiE0u_JuVirxo6IbGLJbiIqN2DMTr-lU
Hello! If you are seeing this and have not gotten a skink yet, I would highly recommend Dave's Skinks. He is a breeder in Chicago, extremely reliable, and has very healthy & sweet skinks. I got my adult Northern Blue Tongue Skink from him recently and it could not have been better!
Did you put a metal bowl in the microwave??
Lol yes, I guess I did. I read that stainless steel with no jagged edges won't make sparks or explode. Especially if I'm not heating it up more than 60 seconds. Nothings happened in these last 2 years of heating it in the microwave. So must be ok in my case. But people should always use something microwave safe if they can.
No mice or crickets ?
I could give him mice and crickets if I wanted to. But they aren't necessary for skinks, as it is for most other kinds of reptiles. I chose dog food meats and formula and canned snails for protein because I have that option with a skink, and it's an easy to get option. And I don't like working with live food if I don't have to. I think my skink is already getting plenty of variety without mice and crickets.
@@AnimalLoverChanL I hear you. I used to own sneakers and geckos been thinking of getting back into the hobby. I had plans for a big eco system setup setup with a skink as the top predator as natural as possible but now you have me rethinking if maybe I should find another different kind of medium sized Lizard. Played with the idea of monitors but they are all a bit too big.
I will take your pets.
Lol, I won't let you :)
