    For me the main reasons I moved out of India to the West with my family was I could not take the corruption. It was so rampant and I was at a great disadvantage because I was not a corrupt person. Hence I used to fight with the officials to get my job done. Building my house in India was the worst experience for me as at every stage I was being asked for bribe, but I refused to pay and because of that I was harassed. Second, is the population and because of that the dirty conditions. I worked in the Middle East for ten years and experienced an excellent quality of life. Stress free and clean and comfortable. That was the turning point for me. I explored various countries as options and moved out in early 2000's. I am not wealthy, but love my life in the West and am now fully integrated. Unlike many immigrants who still call India, "home". I do not. Canada is my home and India is the land of my birth. I have embraced Canadian culture and customs. I celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Remembrance Day, Valentine's Day, etc. And my children are dating White Canadians. I saw no future in India and after almost 20 years I can confidently say I made the right decision. I do not even feel like visiting India and only go back for family matters.

      Hey , glad you moved out ... I am still stuck in India , far lagging with respect to peers and relatives because of my non corrupt attitude(even after working in MNC since 8 years). I too want to move out , but confused where to start in present state of affairs !!

      Corruption is there in every country bro..in some country it's is less and in some it is more....a country which gave u the education and make you capable so that u can be well established in your life, it's very good way to repay that country by moving to a developed country and saying everything bad about that motherland.. never camouflage your self centric mentality with corruption and all those things..have u gave bribe to get an education or gave bribe to get the job ??? So why you are so pessimistic about only on a single incident which might be happened due to a standalone incident..it's true every country has its own set of pros and cons but please don't generalize it..be respectful to your motherland and realise that at least it gave u the education not to become a corrupt person and taught you to be honest in your life..

    Really enjoyed watching your video. Our Family of four moved to Canada in 2008 ...when we were much older than you. Both my husband and I had lived abroad as kids, and wanted our own children to experience a different culture. They were born in Chennai where we lived and at the time of moving they were 11 and 7 years old. We took a different route and started a business. It has been 11 years now and we are, touch wood, settled in Mississauga, both kids students of Univ of Toronto. When we moved there were no RUclips videos, just blogs. So I actually started a blog, which many may have seen called, From Chutney to Maple Syrup. I still get emails till today, people asking how to move to Canada. Good luck to you both. You seem so smart and level headed. Your advice will help so many.

      @canadianMom: Don't you think Canadian culture got Spoiled of Excess immigration.
      Mississauga, Brampton especially due to Indians

    • @ArAmInCa
      @ArAmInCa 2 года назад +1

      @@sunshinesun7157 just the other day I was talking about this with a friend. I think the main problem, is not educating the new immigrants on how to merge into Canadian culture while still keeping theirs. Because of Canada's weather and business opportunities, majority of immigrants want to stay in the GTA. Unlike the US, where everyone spreads around. So Brampton and Mississauga, and other cities, like Cambridge and Guelph are getting crowded with Indian immigrants. I'm not saying this in a negative way. I'm saying this as someone who five years ago didn't see any Indians at the Longo's I go to. Now I see so many, and less of other people. The larger IT companies bringing in so many Indians, have to start some sort of etiquette and cultural classes for their employees. This will solve a lot of the issues. For example, we went to see a waterfall and while there saw a group of young Indian men. All speaking very loudly in Hindi, and not moving away from the main area where people were waiting to take pictures of the Falls in the background. They had no respect for anyone and it was embarrassing to see other people looking at them in disgust. Universities and Colleges also should have some sort of workshop week when International students come to teach what's appropriate in Canada and what is not. Or...for example..just now ...Diwali. There are rules about the timings for bursting crackers. Till 11pm. But crackers this year went on till 2am in some places. This really disturbs the peace. Then people get angry and think why are these people bursting crackers with no regard or respect to others. This is not India....and people coming here should certainly respect the rules and people here.
      But having said all this, our Family mixes equally with all communities and we made a choice not to stick to the Indian community only. We live in a mixed area, and my kids went to schools inclusive of all cultures. Now they have friends from everywhere and respect all cultures and religions because of this. So as parents, we also have to do our bit. Don't stick to your own all the time. That doesn't help in the long run, and you will find your own world opening up much more too. Just my thoughts :)

    I moved to Canada on a PR because I was tired being on an H1B visa in the US. I started my career in the US back in 2011 and had zero experience of working in India so I was not confident about going back home and work and wanted to remain in North America. But the process to get an H1B visa, maintain it till you get a green card is exhausting & stressful. Getting a green card takes forever especially if you're born in India. I am earning less in Canada compared to the US plus Canada is more expensive as well but I am at least not stressed about losing my visa status and having to go back and not restricted by a visa which ties to me to one employer and won't let me explore different career options.

    So much like my own story... no place is bad, its what u want in life and making better choices accordingly matters the most n specially for Delhi people like us this thought is must!! We first moved to Singapore and stayed for 5 years I would say the safest dot on world’s map .. financial hub close to India!! But it had down side too as they dont offer PR and citizenship easily unlike Aus and Canada 🇨🇦
    I watched lot of your videos to understand the place better and we landed here in Aug 19

    Can relate to this.We share same story.Back home me and my husband had a very high package and all luxuries (Maids for everything..I still miss them) But still we decided to come to Canada.Its been 6 months now since we moved.My husband has got a good package since he is in IT and IT has a lot of demand in Canada.I am in Finance and still struggling to get to the package and level that I was back in India.But we know we made a right decision and everything will be back the way it was in few years.( except for maids..lol).So we have to be patient and if you have the right skills you will earn money as well.Slowly and gradually everything falls in place.

    Thank you @Canada Couple for this informative video. Your channel has been inspirational and very informative. I refer to your guidance and suggestions whenever I have the slightest doubts on my steps. Our story is similar to yours, the only difference is that we have 2 kids and the basement was denied by many owners as they care for children's safety. Luckily, I could end up getting a place to live although the rent is quite high. I was 35 when I got the golden email and I moved in July'19. I had done a soft landing as I didn't want my family to struggle when we don't have a place to live. I did a complete move in August. I am still looking out for a prospective opportunity (keeping fingers crossed) while I also have utilized many of the resources which are provided free of cost by the Government of Canada such as YMCA, Acces employment, etc. who support for settlement and guide newcomers.
    Thank you
