  • With the end of Big 3 Era and after a period of rebuilding, the Celtics became a force again under head coach Brad Stevens. Led by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, the team returned to the Conference Finals in 2018 and 2020, and broke through to the NBA Finals in 2022 in head coach Ime Udoka's first season at the helm.

    As a Celtics fan watching this as it happened, people don't really understand how important Isaiah Thomas was for the Celtics rebuild. The Celtics were bound to miss the playoffs until they traded for him at the deadline, and he catapulted them into being a decent team. He was also the reason players like Al Horford and Gordon Hayward chose to sign with Boston. We love Isaiah in Boston and I wish they never traded him

    The Celtics did really have a revenge year. They lost to the nets first round in 2021, they lost to the bucks in the second round in 2019, and they lost to the heat in the ECF in 2020. In this years playoff series, they beat all those teams.

    Costly turnovers, no floor general, inexperience in the finals was got them the loss. But kudos to the Celtics, they came to the finals by playing team DEFENSE. They didn't need 3 superstars, just needed the right foundation, development, and play team ball. They'll be back if they can learn from this experience.

      I think if they commit to Derrick White and build that chemistry they have a great shot.
      Smart is not the guy, he’s a great 6th man. I really liked the lineup of him coming in, harassing the primary ball handler when they were on the ropes and muscling to the hoop on smaller lineups. He’s a better weapon situationally than a starter- however will he accept that role?

    As a Warriors fan, it must be said that Boston is putting together a great team that has the potential to beat us. However, if they want to reach championship heights and go to the next level, I shouldn’t be able to say with confidence, "Warriors in 6". If they want to get better, they’ll need to either get a third star or acquire their equivalents of Gary Payton 2 and Wilt Chamberlain Jr.

    • @dorbeans777
      @dorbeans777 Год назад +1

      tbh what we really need is one of 2 things. our depth isn’t great and we desperately need to fill out the bench, only white and grant williams are good enough to be in the rotation for a title-contender while pritchard and theis are solid end of rotation players but ultimately shouldn’t be on the floor unless there’s injuries. also, we desperately need a clear cut 3rd option. smart, horford and white are all great at stepping up and giving you 20 point games when it’s needed the most but we need another 20ppg scorer. i think i speak for all celtics fans when we say we need malcolm brogdon. he can play on and off ball, is an efficient scorer who can shoot, can playmake and defend at a high level. he fits perfectly with our team. knicks are also looking to dump cam reddish to free up cap space for brunson and with our trade exception, we’re the only team in the league able to take reddish without having to give back salary. we could easily end up with a rotation of smart, brown, tatum, horford, rob williams with brogdon, white, reddish and grant williams off the bench next season, while still having assets to trade for a superstar if we want. the future looks very bright for us ngl

    Facilitating at the 1 is going to be the make or break of this legacy team. They have tried more PGs than I’ve ever seen a team do; Isiah, Dennis, Smart, Kyrie, Kemba, and now White…
    The thing is if they can just get a true floor general… honestly, this team would be perfect for Chris Paul. This team would have gotten him a title. Seeing that is not in the cards without losing a lot of pieces- however that might be the trade you make (Ayton/Paul - Smart/Horford/White/1st)…

    I liked Jared sullinger I think they should have kept them around, he's a good offensive rebounder a wide body in the post, but I know he was always hurt and I heard he had a lot of back problems coming into the league. But I like that 2012-2013 team, Avery Bradley was good at this point and so was Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox. Even Courtney Lee could hit a shot off the bench. I missed Eddie house at this point But this team was pretty good still up until this point. Doc is probably the reason we didn't have two or three.

    This was a five year rebuild as we were contenders in 2018 but character and injuries killed us. But we were still contenders especially with a young core. Tatum was fine idk why y’all hate on him over one bad series instead of looking back on how he got us to the finals. He’s young and he’s gonna come back stronger. Same with jb. Smart as his first year as a starting pg didn’t do terrible. He was putting up decent points in the regular season and the playoffs. I think smart will have his break out year next year just watch. WE WILL BE BACK!!!😈😈💯💯 go Celtics ☘️🍀☘️🍀

    We were always good. Our front office screwed over Isaiah Thomas but we were always in the playoffs and we've been making it deep in the playoffs for a while. Jeff Green, Jae Crowder, Evan Turner, Marcus Morris, Gordan Hayward, Al Horford, and yeah Isaiah Thomas. Then our draft picks like Avery Bradley, Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, Semi Ojeleye, Rob Williams, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum
    Kyrie and Kemba were busts but Marcus Smart has stepped up big for the franchise becoming the starting point guard. The Jays are already superstars even if the league doesn't recognize.
