- Two of the very first Carlos Lopez Castedosa Guitars have arrived to Casino Guitars. Baxter breaks down what he loves about these and why maybe you need to consider having a place on your wall for a Castedosa Guitar from Carlos Lopez.
Beautiful guitar and tones. Baxter your playing is always so perfect. Your the type of player every one of us younger guys should aspire to play like. Musical, subtle , endlessly expressive, and restrained. Just beautiful.
Ryan, thank you so much! That really is incredibly kind of you to say those things. Keep that playing going and many thanks for the kindness:)
You are welcome. I also can’t wait to meet you all when I play the rooster later this year!
I wish Carlos and his family good luck. I find it interesting that he decided to do Baritone as his first project but I am sure he will sell a few. I look forward to his next offerings.
Thank you for those kind words and I will pass those on personally to him and his family:)
That thing is just a beautiful piece of work. Thanks for playing something that really let the timbre of that guitar shine. Pretty early on a Saturday. You guys still up from the big show last night. That was GREAT as well. THANKS again!
Thank you Richard and yes, we never sleep 💤!
Really happy for you guys to have such amazing instruments to show us all, long may your relationship with Mr Lopez flourish!
Thank you Johnny C!!!
Love your enthusiasm, you are a credit to the craft and the industry!
Thank you so much for those words! I do have an unfortunate obsession and love for pieces like this. I do feel sorry for my wife though...she has to tolerate my enthusiasm all too often about guitars!
Wow, i hope Carlos gets to see how much love there is for his new venture. This is one of the best sounding guitars i have ever heard on your channel Bax, incredible. Those pickups sound amazing, what a super new cool guitar, congrats to everyone involved!
Z...!!!! Thanks a ton! We are thrilled to be a part of this amazing company. I love the odd beasts that Carlos has unleashed here and am thrilled to help them find new homes!
Much love to you Z from the entire Casino Crew!
Phenomenal guitar. I love the fact each are family built and the tones are so unique. These would stand out nicely in a band mix.
Right on David! Thank you for sharing that and thrilled you like the pieces!
Pretty special stuff. Thanks for showing it off.
You got it Mike! We are pretty lucky around here:)
I want one!! Beautiful! Beautiful sound!! And Baxster, you are amazing. Thank you my friend.
Troy, thanks a ton for those kind words and yes, these things are amazing! I love em:)

Love it. I hope they have tons of success because they look and sound awesome.
Thank you Eric! We wish the same for him and his business!
Amazing tone from.a killer piece and Baxter’s playing killing it as usual.
Thank you sincerely!
That might be the nicest neck I’ve ever seen man. The colors are incredible too. Great demo and beginning of a huge brand!
Thank you my strange friend! We love his work tremendously!
Amazing playing as always, Baxter!!!
Rafal, thank you so much!!!
I need one! The craftsmanship is impeccable
Thank you for watching and we absolutely are...the neck joint...oh my:)
I love how this sounds! And the fact that it’s built by Carlos…you’re looking at a master builder making a guitar. It’s not gonna get much better when you’re talking about the quality of the instrument and the build quality.
Thanks Baxter and Casino for carrying them and giving us all a look at one!
I know there’s not much of a chance I’ll be able to play one being a lefty. But at this point I’m used to that disappointment. LOL
Cynthia, thank you so much and we are so lucky to be able to play these gorgeous instruments.
And who knows…I bet carlos might be able to make us a mefloquine one day:)
Much love Cynthia and thank you again for your thoughts!
@@CasinoGuitars I will keep my fingers crossed! 😂
Honestly it’s just awesome to see you guys supporting a great builder like Carlos. I’m happy for anyone that gets the chance to own one of these.
That's a huge sounding guitar. The projection is insane. My bowels shook and I'm in Pa while you're the one playing in NC. Great playing Baxter
It made me need to use the restroom almost immediately:)
I love baritone guitars. These look and sound great!
We agree and thank you!
Beautiful guitar and awesome playing! Hopefully I can buy one of these in the future
Stephen I am right there with you! I love them:)
@@CasinoGuitars you can really tell that Carlos has put his heart and creativity into these
The world needs more baritones.
We agree after playing these!
What a unique sound!
We agree Mitch!
Such great looking/sounding axes
Thank you John and we also think so!

Thank you Dave! We are like that really loud yorkie:)
Sincere thanks and we are just thrilled to be a part of this world!
@@CasinoGuitars more like a couple of Goldens
Looks beautiful. I love your playing style, Baxter. I hope to be comfortable with my playing, as you are, one day.
Duffy thank you so much for those kind words! This one was a true joy to play!
That thing is gorgeous! Playing was too.
Thank you Sean! This was a true joy to play:)
OMG Baxter, they sounded so beautiful.
Thank you Larry. These things were truly inspiring.
Love the story and love the sounds of that guitar. If I had the means… heck yeah I would order one up!
Thank you Phil and we agree. We absolutely love these pieces!

Great playing!sounds Barry cool!🫐❄️😎
Berry!🫐❄️
Thank you and I like the berry cool part!
@@CasinoGuitars I appreciate y’all’s silliness as well 🙂
I'm smitten . Everything about it. From the Fender similarities to the total uniqueness. Even like the Builders story of the name.
As are we! Absolutely love this guys builds and thank you for watching!
I think I need one of these. The tone of the butterscotch one is kinda the exact sound I been looking for
Erick they are truly amazing and just let us know if we can ever help!
Very cool bax!
Peter...these things are ...AMAZING! I am for sure having to keep one! (When he let's me)
Cool stuff!!
We agree!
You should begin every video playing a great guitar. Lovely
If only they would let me:)
I’m 49. Dedicated my spare time to make my guitars sound melodic. What you did with those baritone guitars makes me wonder if I need one.
Jerry, thank you and we agree. These pieces inspired me thoroughly!
Very nice.
Thank you Josh!
That is awesome. I can't afford one at this time... but I may just borrow that built-in delay idea for a Classic Vibe Strat I like to experiment with...
100% take it! We did the same thing to a much worse effect as well:)
Beautiful guitars. I could listen to Baxter noodle around all day. Wonder what it would sound like for SRV get his hands on one of these. Hope Mark Knopfler gets one and records a full album with it
Thank you Christopher! I really had a blast playing these. And oh my yes please Mark Knophler...perfect pairing!
Rarely does a new guitar maker make something that becomes my new obsession. This may be it.
Love the look and sound of that guitar. Oh man, I need to convince myself that I don't need a baritone
I tried and failed that same path...I have one on order now...:)
Baritones are Beautiful
We agree and love em!
Woooooow...... 😍😍😍😍😍
I agree:)
A Bass VI style instrument would be awesome!
How much Do they go for? I want to start saving up asap!!!
I want that guitar.
As do I William!
Sweet.
We love it to!
omg!!! i want one…when a guitar shop owner/demo-er gets lost in the jam, u know its good
East I agree...I was completely lost in these pieces...darn it was frustrating. Don't tell my wife, I have one on the way:)
I see Baxter play, I click "me likey"!! Long overdue for a "Captain Meets Baxter Clement". Honest review, "I just played it through the Two Rock". LOL, yeah we know that. Baxter + Two Rock + plus any guitar at all = awesomeness.
I think I love that review...! Thank you sir!
Wow. Period.
That’s exactly my sentiments:) !
Any chance for budget versions of these?
These are kind-of budget...if you happen to own a major sporting team or oil business...kind-a:)
Absolutely gorgeous, im afraid to ask what how much these things cost 😅
Btw what happened to John Cruz, didnt he want to start something on his own as well?
Ole Stuhl hello, Thanks for checking these out and we agree, love em! John does have something coming out very soon...just stay tuned! They are spectacular:)
😍
Thank you!
And that's why Baxter is going to win the arm wrestling match. Sweet guitar
Yes Robbie Yes!~
👍👍👍
Very nice looks and sounds. That said, getting weary of gear that makes me question my income and general career choices.
Dan I have been questioning my career choices since day one!
@@CasinoGuitars And yet there you sit with all of that in your reach so you couldn't have made all the mistakes. I did ok too, just not at that level yet.
Will he be doing bass guitars?
There is that conversation happening right now:)
I'm in love...but probably way out of my league. Tried looking it up on the dealer sites, but couldn't find it or even a price.
We are the only public dealers at the time and I would love to help with any questions you may have. Just shoot us an email over at shop@casinoguitars.com and I would love to help!
Sincerely,
Baxter
So...how much?
Not sure there’s a massive market for Long scale guitars?
Are you kidding?! They’re on every website of every major guitar maker, and most boutique builders are doing them too either standard or by special request. Even Squier just released an affordable one. Baritones have been really hugely popular in the past couple of years!
@@MashaT22 Name me one Artist that use them exclusively?
@@MrVanalen Ariel Posen
Andy hello, you are right in some ways there. Carlos doesn't mean to produce these in any substantial number like a traditional guitar maker would. He really is a small build and small batch maker.
Braxton and Masha are right though in that these are sneaking their ways into so many genres now that a new category is opening.
I am excited to see how we evolve with these guitars. I am also biased as I have one on order as well:)
I thought I saw a zero fret but I think it’s light reflecting.
Yes, that would be the lighting:)
Is Mr. Lopez hiring?
He may be:) I would reach out to him directly and see what the strange master is doing:)
where are the specs ??
how much?
They are right at $7000-$8000 depending upon customizations. A truly spectacular instrument and thank you for watching.
Jesus
@@CasinoGuitars it is a very nice guitar I would have figured more in the 4 to 5 k range hopefully in these trying times he doesn't price him self out of work. Hopefully there will be enough lawyer's and doctors to keep him afloat. At least when the guitars he built said fender on them they had a resale value. I'm really not trying to talk trash. I just know how these things can go. Best of luck I'd like to see more.
@@captaintony1227 well, Carlos Lopez is basically a one man show with some help from his family, plus that price is also justified given his history as a master Fender builder, everything is handmade and built in his shop, the unique specs and electronics that people are getting when they buy these guitars, etc. Other small builders charge the same or more for less impressive guitars AND often use some outsourced parts AND don’t have storied histories as luthiers. Btw, this opinion about the price is coming from me - a person who has been searching for a donated electric guitar that’s easier and less painful to play for 1.5 years (I can’t even afford a cheap, broken guitar as I’ve been homebound without ANY income and little help since 2019, very ill since 2018, and disabled with various complex medical issues and a TBI since 2003). I’ll never be able to afford such a masterpiece, and I’ll be lucky if I ever get my hands on a “piece” of any kind at this point, lol. Sometimes a steep price is completely justified, and while it sucks for most of us, we can still appreciate the tone, craftsmanship, design, etc. while learning more about it, watching others play it, etc. I was actually expecting to hear that the guitar cost $10,000.
I’m hoping Carlos gets to a point where he can eventually offer some more affordable options too - think Squier or the new PRS Silver Sky SE line that are made elsewhere, but to his complete specs and with well chosen parts that are are also made elsewhere to be a similar spec/look. But first he’s doing what he does best: designing and building master guitars (parts included) with his own two hands and very little help.
I think he will get there if enough people support his work now. People like us can help by spreading Carlos’ website and social media to people who may be able to afford a high end guitar. I’m so glad Casino has forged a relationship with this new guitar brand, and I look forward to see what comes next - even if I’ll never own one!
@@captaintony1227 its the economy of scale. He's a one man operation that means he has to pay all his overhead and try and make a bit of profit. He doesn't have the resources of the mighty Fender behind him anymore. It's the same reason a hand built piece of furniture is going to cost way more than something from IKEA. Plus he's a former master builder. What's a new master built going for right now?
You ought not say 'he does it all by his hand' as in the Castedosa introductory video Carlos clearly uses a CNC machine to carve wood
I still view that as by himself. He has his own CNC machine in his workshop and does not farm any of the construction of them out.
No way !!!
Right!!!:)
Mike Ruffalo before avengers
I like a half relived gtr. Relic the neck, let me relic the body. The " relics" I've come across all just seem "fake" to me. They sound good and do what they're supposed to just to me look wrong. But whatever makes your strings vibrate
We hear you Mark. Some love it, and some don't...but man I will say, this thing certainly made my strings bounce off the fretboard:)
Thanks a ton for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Sounds wonderful, but I'm not a fan at all of fake relics. I hope Carlos does well with them.
Right on and sincere thanks for sharing your thoughts as well!
I am actually not a big fan of relics either but this is so tastefully done. It's the first piece that has actually made me bother to start getting more info.
Is this the same dude that got fired from Fender?
No, this fella left Fender on his own accord.
That was John Cruz you're thinking of.
@@juanjosebol
Thanks man, my memory is fuzzy these days.
I think Carlos is going to build some amazing things, but this one is not there yet IMO
It looks like something out of an old Sears catalogue. Sorry to be blunt.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts! We know baritones aren't everyone's cup o tea but stay tuned...something very cool is coming soon!
Not a fan of the relic it's like buying a new car already scratched. Other than that cool guitars.
We hear you Rich, it isn't for everyone but we still dig em:) Thanks for sharing!
Not for 7K. That's a no from me dawg.
I hear you Alan, sorry it's not for you. I however hope to have one myself one day..I need serious therapy though!
The annoying guy can play 🤟
The annoying guy says thank you...:)
another builder who fails at headstocks...
