- I give a brief overview of a 1991 Olds 98 Touring Sedan trim package. It is great. We also go for a quick ride along thru the countryside. I didn't include the engine as I forgot to record that, and have already shown it anyways in the previous episodes on this playlist. According to Wikipedia (internets ALWAYS true HAHA) there was only ~4,000 built for this year. This is one of them yay!

It was the dividing line between what cars USED to be and what they would become. 😊 Oldsmobile is missed! Awesome car, thanks for sharing!
A pleasure sir😊
It's definitely missed by me.
These Mint Condition Olds is defintely a Time Capsule. This car is a good definition of a Modern Classic.
We had a white 1991 olds Eighty-Eight- it was not curvy like the 98 of this year, but it was still VERY nice, i miss it.
Then it wasn't a 91
The 88s didn't change until '92.
Reminds me of my old 93 Park Avenue. Had the same issue with trunk motor, so wound the catch down to make it shut properly. Happy days 🤠
Oh I guess I’m not the only one🤪😆
I bought a '98 Regency in North Bend for $300. Bad plastic intake, sucked coolant down into the cylinders. New intake, flush the motor, full service, detail and headliner- it was awesome. Drove it awhile, sold it for $2500. First new car I bought? '99 Regal GS that was a PGA promo vehicle & used at Seafair that summer. Still have it and it's getting a full strip-down repaint out in Monroe
When GM tried to revived the big car 91 to 96 with the Olds 98, Chevy Caprice, Buick Roadmaster and even the Bonneville I think the Olds was the nicest
Beautiful and elegant...that was the richness and essence of oldsmobile cars. Would love to enjoy such beauty in this era.
Def Leopard, I expected the Carpenters from you.
The Carpenters are in my vinyl collection. I listen to ALOT of music. Mostly 90’s and older. If I feel like I’m ready for the clock out rock out then we get the Judas Priest, Van Halen, ZZ Top etc out. If I’m in a chill mood, then the Redbone, Pink Floyd Gordon Lightfoot, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Gerry Rafferty etc comes out. Beatles vs Dave Clark Five? Like ‘‘em both but Dave Clark Five has that sax that makes their music pop. Feeling like going back to my roots then Alan Jackson. Mel Mcdaniel, Hank, Alabama. Highwaymen etc comes out to do some twangin’. Top 3 classical music pieces? Sobre Las Olas, Hungarian rhapsody no 2, and the Thieving Magpie. Confused now about my personality? How do you think I feel?! 🤣🤣
@@SwedeMachine Yep, it makes sense to me, but is the carpenters vinyl wrapped for protection in your old bell bottoms? -cheers
Haha! Negative on that lol😂
Those aren't the stock wheels for the touring sedan. The touring sedan had the same wheels as the Tornado Trofeo
TORONADO
The crooked and uncentered Olds embroidery on the rear seats is a curiously infuriating design!
Look away OCD peeps 🤪🤣
I saw a 1993 TS in a local wrecking yard and the seats were in immaculate condition. They would have looked fine in the 1995 Ninety Eight Regency Elite I bought in 2006.
i like oldsmobile 98. i can do without soft close trunk. not child proof windows it's ahape of rear doors prevents full window movement because curve of the rear tire.
It has some similarities to the 1990s Holden Commodores
This looks similar to a 1990s Lincoln town car, especially the trunk areas and door panels! Did Lincoln and Oldsmobile share parts back then?!
I highly doubt Ford was sharing parts with General Motors but some days you do wonder😏
Would have been nice to show the rear accommodations. It is a sedan, after all.
Fair enough that’s a good point. I’ll make a note of that. 👍🏼
That Olds has more than a Seville: therefore it must have an onboard diagnostic system you can activate from the radio like Cadillacs?😊
Nice car l used to have one many years ago
Those rims aren't stock on that car. The ninety-eights didn't come with those until 94 I think.
Ac try straight wireing ac pump display on dash could be. Bad I have seen them look good but wssent
Id like yo see you replace the headliner in that beast. They were awesome in the 60s and 70s and turned to such garbage in the 80s and 90s.
The current owner said he’s gonna have a go with it at some point. I’ll update you in the community post when that happens. ✌🏼👍🏼
@SwedeMachine Sweet! I'd like to know how it's done. I'm tall, so the bad ones just lay on my head!
Same here boss! I hate being tall some days haha!
seems pretty cool. altho the build quality especially in the interior is inferior compared to most European cars. I mean it has everything, maybe even more, but the build quality itself seems pretty negligent. also, why did you say the suspension could be softer. compared to what? I thought it was very soft as opposed to modern cars
Well maybe compared to the 77 Lincoln town car, 71 New Yorker, or the 69 Oldsmobile 98. But those are BIG cars. I I would call this one a mid size car compared to the land yatchs of old. But still it was a very smooth ride don’t get me wrong. I’m not very good with words 🙄😄
@@SwedeMachine I totally get it. it's very sad for me that as we go in time, cars are getting harder and harder suspension.
Absolutely. My back is aging and it likes a much smoother ride. Might as well stick to the classics!🥰💯
The interior quality is awesome compared to any import I've ever been in. What's worse American cars usually get flack for imitating a foreign car and doing it better. 80s Honda accord 2dr vs chevy Beretta. Prime example. I've literally read where people say that imports used quality plastics whereas gm was cheap. Who decides, what if someone else likes the feel of America plastic better..it all cracks!!. Cheap interiors...I think that everyone has spent too long listening to motor trend, consumer reports, shamless bias to imports
Do you sale that car?
I'm sorry to say the car wasn't for sale. Thanks for asking though
