  • Sinn Féin MLA and 1981 hunger striker Pat Sheehan delivers this years Óglach Peter Corrigan commemorative lecture in Armagh City, entitled 'The Spirit of Freedom' Pat draws parallels between his comrades who died on hunger strike in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh in 1981 and those Volunteers and activists on the streets who led our struggle from the front and as a consequence lost their lives in actions against British State Forces or faced assassination by their allies in Loyalist Death Squads.

Inspiring and honest. Pat Sheehan's lecture in honour of Óglach Peter Corrigan 'The Spirit of Freedom' may help anyone whose faith in the republican movement/struggle is waning; it is well worth listening to. I enjoyed it immensely.

I want to see a United Ireland soon, because Northern Ireland is a lead weight around the necks of the British people.
