I'm surprised you didn't mention a more race-oriented brake fluid (i.e. RBF 600). Makes a huge difference when used in conjunction with SS lines and good pads (I recommend Vesrah RJL).
Top speed means nothing. Low end power . Mid range and top end power is what matters. Top speed is overrated af. Think of how often you're at the top speed of your bike... not often.. now think of how often your maxing out low end and mid range. EVERYDAY

I wish you talked about the ergo-fit Kawasaki 400 seat...that would’ve been something that would’ve been extremely helpful as there isn’t much out there about that...
And remember, you can upgrade a lot of stuff and not go quite as crazy. Especially in the suspension department, there are MUCH better bang for the buck options than going full Ohlins (Revzilla even sells a few of them) that will give you almost the same performance benefit without the high cost of Ohlins. Slip on exhaust gives you the sound and weight savings, but is less expensive and doesn't usually require a power commander or reflash (though the Ninja 400 might not be able to use slip ons, Kawasaki uses 1 piece exhaust systems on a lot of their bikes now).
Wasn't sure, glad they use a 2 piece exhaust on the 400. All the 650s (Ninja, Z, Versys and Vulcan) all use 1 piece exhausts now so its full system or nothing.
Awesome mods, and thanks for the info. I'll be endurance racing one at NOLA this coming Saturday-3/14 with two other teammates for a race total of 8hrs. I've never ridden a 4hundy. I have a R3 and endurance raced a R3 for a season and Ninja300 for a season.
If you've got a small displacement sport bike, skip 95% of this. The 5% you really want is quality tires and brake pads. They're the greatest improvements you can make and also some of the cheapest. Everything else is really only an improvement if your already a super skilled rider. (Though upgraded suspension is admittedly very nice, I'd save the money for a bigger bike if you do plan to move up in displacement at some point)
Those ASV levers are hella expensive. But they do look good on my bike. Super super easy to install. I needed them because the new bar-end mirrors I installed kept catching the stock lever.

I agree, except for suspension. Its always a good idea to swap the suspension of your bike, as they almost ceirtanly are not tailored for your weight, lenght and riding style from factory. Even for street riding its important to have the right suspension. It will ensure that you have maximum control of the bike in an emergency situation. For example, if you are a bit heavyer (80 kg+) the factoy springs will very likely be too soft for you. Doesnt have to be Öhlins 2000 dollar shocks and 3000 dollar forks, if its for street riding only, new front and rear springs at 80 dollars a piece will be just fine.
Awesome! It would be even more so if you'd upload a video of all these mods in action. See how much value each component adds. Also would love to hear her scream with that arrow! Thanks.-
Spurg, why the Q3 Plus and not the Rosso III (that also come in 110/70R17 and 150/60R17 and seem to be winning pretty much every comparison in this class)?
Shock install should be like a .5 on the beard scale and only takes 10min. Start out on a rear stand and then place regular jack stands under the peg mount/frame. No need for a lift or fairing removal...easy peasy.
Just all those mods with labor since I dont have all the tools or time to do myself would cost me half of what I paid for the bike, YES I do want them but at most I am just gonna do a slip on for this ninja 400. If I am gonna go hard core Ill just buy 600 used that someone did all the mods and pay 4k
Best sport bike mods according to what you see on the street: remove your license plate holder. +5 HP right there. Advantages: you bend your plate at a stupid angle that makes your bike look like it's broken and you zip tied parts back on it, and it hits the tire when your rear suspension compresses so you know when you're really riding hard. Unless you mount it flush with the tail, in which case you can just have the cops tell you how well you're riding when they pull you over for the 17th time because they can't read your plate. DON'T BE THAT GUY WITH A STOCK PLATE HOLDER! YOUR FRIENDS WILL KNOW YOU'RE SLOW!

in europe the problem is, full systems are illegal due to the increased emissions.....You want power for your ninja 400? Im talk bout 83Horses, weight reduce as well if you want!!! -Camshafts -golf ports -full system
I dont think most of the people recommending a 600cc supersport have ever ridden one on the street. All top end power which means you're pretty much speeding at the end of 1st gear unless you're on a 75mph highway... which means you can barely hit second before breaking the law. You ride with a target on your back for cops. Being able to ride the bike through the gears is actually a lot of fun which is not practical with most bigger sport bikes (600 and above.) I have an R6 and an XSR700 and have way more fun on the XSR unless it's a track day. Low end torque on the streets baby!
Even after mods you're probably not even close to the cost of a 636, assuming new vs new. You can also use basically all of the 400s power on the street, that's not happening with a 600 unless you have a really good lawyer or a death wish.
I've had my CBR 300R for over 2 years now. I see no reason to upgrade to a bigger bike, so over the winter I will be making some modifications. I want a full exhaust and Ohlins rear shock so badly.
I have no experience on other bikes, but I've rode a Suzuki 125 at the MSF class and a Z125 at work. I'd highly recommend at least 249cc unless you don't want to go over 60 mph. If I was starting out today, I'd buy the new CB 300R (it's not a CBR but it's 40 lbs lighter.) Single cylinder bikes are the purest form of motorcycling, going back to the roots. There are no other beginner singles besides KTM 390 which doesn't have the strong dealer network or reliability of Honda. Ninja 400 is cool. It's a slightly bigger bike than the CBR 300, allowing me to fully tuck behind the windscreen, but it's a twin, so it's not my style.
They left out steering damper.. wonder would it fit after the clip-ons mod? Nice and informative video 👍 valuable especially for A2 license drivers (myself have zx6r 2020 abs). But need to know the prices for each mod group and total build price. If you have to do the exhaust and power commander together, what is the the total cost of that mod-group?
Prices can change, and rates for shop labor also vary. Prices for parts are also different for different bikes. For the Ninja 400, full exhausts range from about $500 up to $1,300. The Power Commander V for the Ninja 400 is a bit less than $400. -DrewZilla

Hi guys how much difference did the change of exhaust system power commander and race air filter make overall? I see you said about 5 hp which is great but what about speed differences and ease of speeds in each gear?
The only place you maybe feel a ever so slight boost from earlyer is at high revs. On the street you wont feel a thing. Dont get a performance exhaust wanting to increase horsepower, get it for its looks and sound, and think about if the price really is worth it. I would honsetly just go for a slipon for street use. Looks and sounds nearly the same as a full system.
Which motorcycle is easiest on maintenance? Can’t break the bank. No mods as is new. I wouldn’t go to track. 1st bike go from house work 10 minutes away and back and dojo 40 minutes away. Other than that for fun.
You absolutely need a Power Commander or other fuel management system to have your bike run properly. As for the air cleaner, you won't be getting the full performance out of your new exhaust without a high-flow filter, so we strongly recommend getting the three pieces together. You can read more on fuel management here: www.revzilla.com/common-tread/fuel-management-101 I hope that helps! -Zack
It's a good beginner bike, but watch chaseontwowheel's first ride, he thinks it's critical for people above 6', but you should just test ride it, so you know if it works for you or not.
I'm about 6-even and I rode a Ninja 400 for maybe 20 min and my wrists hurt something terrible and my back ached. It is a hella fun bike, but I'd have to mod the ergos to make it comfortable for any reasonable length ride. I thought the 300 was more comfortable for my size, though still slightly smallish.
Seriously considering going a size up on tires on my ninja 400 looking at the Michelin road 6's it appears to be cheaper to go a size up on a size 17 rim because I keep seeing rear and front bundles one size up from the 110/70 150/60 that come stock on a ninja 400

Which motorcycle is easiest on maintenance? Can’t break the bank. No mods as is new. I wouldn’t go to track. 1st bike go from house work 10 minutes away and back and dojo 40 minutes away. Other than that for fun.
its really necesary to put a high performance filter and a power commander if you put a full exhaust system?
You absolutely need a Power Commander or other fuel management system to have your bike run properly.
As for the air cleaner, you won't be getting the full performance out of your new exhaust without a high-flow filter, so we strongly recommend getting the three pieces together. You can read more on fuel management here:

I hope that helps!

@@RevZilla Thank you for answering. From what i see in the long term could damage the engine. Got it
Would the ninja 400 abs be a good beginner bike. I'm 6'2 so I'm worried about being cramped. Thanks.
I love those mirrors!😍
Will there be an on track vid showing the different Pre & Pro Mods?
can you show ninja 650 model 2019 with lowered handle bar? I am eager to see how ninja 650 looks like transformed to sports mode.
will the frame slider protect the exhaust when you crash ?
Seriously considering going a size up on tires on my ninja 400 looking at the Michelin road 6's it appears to be cheaper to go a size up on a size 17 rim because I keep seeing rear and front bundles one size up from the 110/70 150/60 that come stock on a ninja 400
I've thought I did alot to my ninja 400 but looks like I still got alot more to go
Need
Foot pegs
The exhaust bracket
And the suspension
Hope much did all these mods cost? And the price of the bike? Could you have just bought a Ducati?
Not everyone wants a Ducati. Unless you want to spend more money on repairs. lol
I would have liked to see more about the scissor jock they used to to jack up the bike (Kawasaki specialty tool).
The scissor jack is not a specialty tool, just a Drag Specialties one that we have in our back office. Ours is an older Black model, but still the same lift. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, Pat

Why didn't they list the mods/time/links to the product like they have before???
Did the production crew get replaced by interns?
Great video
Make a video on rebooting abs system and dynojet kit. Tx.
Perfect. Thanks.
Hay. This was a great video for newbies
But i was wondering what's on with the electric turbines for intakes of combustion engine.
I ride a YAMAHA R15 V3 Indian edition. It has a very high cost cutting parts. So m upgrading. It for pure track use. I didnot find any test for the electronic turbine that fits in the intake
They don't work
How much all the cost?
Love you bro
The host is the love-child of Jason Segel and David Harbour (Hopper from Stranger Things). Who else sees it?
What size are the tires? I'm tryna get wider tires
Wider tires on this bike generally make the bike handle more slowly. It's best to stay with the stock tire sizes. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla Thanks
Mods or not, that bike is sexy AF.
Aren't all full system exhausts illegal?
It really depends on your jurisdiction. -DrewZilla
Yeah in most places, it really depends on the environment and state. Many southern stats have laws regarding them but really don't bother to enforce them. Take a note on how many loud trucks or harleys there are. If none, don't get something too loud and be sure to use a baffle.
This is still America, I think. (China does most of the polluting anyway.)
Add a turbo !
Nice! Just do a H2R engine swap!
Which StompGrip pads are those? Revzilla doesn't seem to have any available for 2018 Ninja 400 in the bike selection menu...
They're a universal-fit option, which we then cut to size. -DrewZilla
Thank you!
You're welcome! -DrewZilla
Where did you get that slip on exhaust from
can i make a 400 faster ???
What's the tire size of the q3's? Thanks!
It's a 150/60ZR17 rear and 110/70ZR17 front. -DrewZilla

what are those boots?
So after all that you could have bought a zx6r?
Anyone one know how much power it makes over stock with exhaust, air filter and power commander?
what prove ? to increase 10 percentage of power when change the exhausted pipe,
My god that ninja is gorgeous. But again id be cheaper to get a 600 or zx6 or something for real gains.
What is the size for wheel did used for front and back one
Track riders usually go for a 140 rear. 150 is stock. 110 front
