      Here is a list of popular extensions that are useful for woodworking. Note that you don't need any/all of them... but some could be helpful for the kinds of things you need to do:
      * TIG-Weld
      * Bezier Spline
      * Fredo Corner (must install LibFredo first)
      * Wudworx
      * CutList
      * PurgeAll
      * Curviloft (must install LibFredo first)
      * FredoScale (must install LibFredo first)
      * Joint Push/Pull (must install LibFredo first)
      * Curve Maker
      * Solid Inspector 2
      * CleanUp 3

    Great video! This is what I always recommend to people getting started in 3d. Learn how to do it natively first, then find an extension to make it fast. Having the understanding of how it works natively will allow you to even push the extensions further. Also, if an extension fails, you won't be left scrambling for a deadline. We use several. Some are a little dated but fit our flow: Instant Roof, Instant Fence, Instant Window, Curviloft, Thru Paint, Skatter, Scale and Rotate Multiple, Vray and Enscape are the most used. There's a list of others we have played with but don't have a dominant position in our workflow. Thanks for sharing!

    I design outdoor bbq kitchen islands and would like them to look photo realistic. Our clients mainly have people designing their houses and are used to seeing amazing renderings. I want to wow them when i show them their new outdoor living area. Right now skethup ipad on its own is not doing that for me. The closest thing i can achieve to that is using the diffusion to show and AI generated photo, which helps but i want the wow factor.

      You will want to use SketchUp Pro together with a realistic rendering extension like V-Ray for SketchUp. If you need more help figuring out this solution, please send us a message at team@sketchupschool.com and an instructor will be happy to help.

    • @SketchUpSchool

      Yes, you can use SketchUp for Web (also known as SketchUp Free) and draw a kitchen with it. You can access SketchUp for Web here: app.sketchup.com/app?hl=en

    Is there a particular extension you’d recommend for creating woodworking plans?

    • @SketchUpSchool
      @SketchUpSchool  11 месяцев назад +1

      When it comes to creating woodworking plans, most people will use LayOut which is the 2D documentation application that comes with SketchUp Pro. It allows you to take your SketchUp designs and then turn them into plans and other similar drawings.

    How do I get sketch up extensions when I use online sketchup

    • @SketchUpSchool
      @SketchUpSchool  10 месяцев назад +1

      Extensions don't work with the web-based SketchUp Free. You need SketchUp Pro in order to be able to use extensions.

    I have previously used the free desktop version of sketchup. I just recently started using sketchup again and found a completely different look and free web sketchup. I don’t see all the toolbars across the top and side that the previous version had. I want to install cultist from the extension warehouse through sketchup, but without the toolbars I can’t see the extension drop-down that mentioned in the video. Is it available in the new free version and if so how do I access the tool bars with extension warehouse on it. Thanks!

    • @SketchUpSchool
      @SketchUpSchool  10 месяцев назад

      SketchUp Free (the web-based version) does not have the capability to run extensions, and it has a different user interface for where all the toolbars and menus are (compared to the desktop version, SketchUp Pro).
      So if you are looking to use extensions, you would want to upgrade to using the desktop version SketchUp Pro.

    So I’m having a house build in the Philippines, and while it’s going to be relatively cheap to build it, compared to how much things are in the US, it won’t as much quality. They guys that are going to be building my home are local builders, so they wont know some of the building techniques that we use here in the US. I want my model to convey to them a better understanding of what I would like, and how I want my house to be built, through the SketchUp visualization. I’m wondering what all, extensions and all, would you recommend to make the visualization better for them to understand? Structures there are being built with reinforced cement, steel, and cinder blocks, to combat weather extremes. Thanks for any help.

    • @SketchUpSchool
      @SketchUpSchool  Год назад +1

      You can use SketchUp's native tools to draw the details of reinforced cement, steel and cinder blocks. For that reason, you may not need to find any additional extensions.
      That being said, if you wanted to speed up the modeling of those details, you could use the Profile Builder 3 extension. It helps you take the details you build manually in SketchUp and then helps you repeat them again and again throughout the project. You can learn more about Profile Builder here: profilebuilder4sketchup.com/

    what extension to make earthworks with a fixed slope (3:2 for example)? (not like sketchup's native "terrain" tool)

      What I mean is: What extension should I use to create earthwork slopes for building excavation?
      My goal is not to create a terrain (Artisan may be good for that) but rather how to get the excavation cones from a bottom of the raft to the intersection with the existing terrain

    Is there a good extension for drawing a pool?

    • @SketchUpSchool

      There isn't a single extension that helps you draw pools specifically. However, Curviloft would be a good one to check out to get the kinds of shapes you need.

    What is the best extension for bathroom renovations

    • @SketchUpSchool
      @SketchUpSchool  2 года назад

      There's not a specific extension for bathroom renovations. But if you have things you need to do - like create renderings or create hard to model shapes - then there could be some extensions that are worth a try. For us to better help with your specific situation, email us at team@sketchupschool.com and we'll be happy to make recommendations to fit your needs.
