The acting is really good. You can tell how she feels when she looks at him versus the husband. She lights up.
This was an incredibly cathartic film. That last scene with Nora.. you could feel the volume of her feelings. Whether it was regret, sadness, or relief, they left it ambiguous yet realistic and completely understandable. I walked away from the film with such a mix of feelings. Part of me wanted that Hollywood ending, but i also recognized that it was, in fact, the right ending for their story. I'm glad hae sung took the leap to find closure in person, even after all those years. Every time, it felt like he wasnt given a choice, it was really Nora that left or ended things. When he left at the end, it felt like he could finally truly leave that chapter with her behind.
I love the way you broke down this film.
Watch or Pass ThanksMuch for sharing !
FYI - the movie did say why the family migrated - more opportunities for the father/filmmaker.
And Hae Sung did not want to stop meeting online, but as always, he always spoils her - like when they were young and he got first place while she got second place and cried.
I might want to see it again. One negative for me is the dialogue. It’s not as witty as the Before trilogy. But I understand Hae Sung is not like Ethan Hawke’s Jesse; Hae Sung is not here to woo Nora. And being Asian, they are more reserved; thus, the movie is more subtle.
Thanks! I remember they said something about better opportunities, but it didn't seem to be anything concrete like a specific project or job.
And yes, this feels like a very different movie from the Before trilogy. But I really liked the writing in this one and the way that the characters interacted. Like you said, it was much more subtle.
Loved this film; saw it twice. 😊
i like how the interactions are realistic instead of overexaggerated in most dramas
was sort of confused part way through. Thought Nora meet up with Arthur during that one year break. totally threw me off for a while
I give it 4/10. Times I cried. But there are reasons for me I didn't. I know there are people that are going to and others that won't like me.
