Make a wooden ring using exotic hardwood veneers

- Time lapse of me making a thumb-size ring out of exotic hardwood veneers. It was around this time last year that I made a ring out of a silver quarter, so I figured I would fire up the old ring-making machine and try out a different medium.
Ultimately, I would call this project a mixed success. The ring ended up being oversized and a little too bulky to be worn comfortably. That being said, the edge grain pattern the turned out stunningly beautiful. I'm really happy with it, just as a conversation piece.
If I decide to revisit this project, I would probably glue up fewer layers in hopes of reducing the overall bulkiness of the ring.

"end result looked nice bud, I need to try it."
PS, overall do you have the dimensions handy & how many layers did u end up using, i noticed u commented that next time you would use fewer layers. Peace.
Hello Rick, amazing work, did you have any problem with the glue that you used?
hi, thanks for sharing your video, I'm new to ww & wondering if you can glue up a ring using say 3 diff pieces of wood that would be thin but thicker than veneer?
try super glue it has to bo really watery it will get into the pours and you won't see gaps between layers
Beautul. And what is the width of ring?
Very nice I'm impressed great job.
music source?
oooooo s'mores lol
Where can you get some of those exotic wood veneers you have?
Br0ManDudeGuy I bought a box of sample size veneers from Constantine's Wood Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They are somewhat local to me, but I think they may take online/phone orders. Their website is www.constantines.com/
Is that a regular grinder?
dean hulett It's a combination 1 inch belt sander and disc sander.
beautiful....but way to thick for my liking.
