What It's Like To Interrogate an Obsessive Psychopath
HTML-код

- In today's JCS Inspired crime documentary we’re going to see what happens when a toxic relationship turns deadly.
In April of 2017, several Amish children were out riding their horses, enjoying the warm spring day. Their outing was brought to an abrupt halt when they discovered the decomposing remains of a man. The body turned out to be that of Jeremy Barron, who had been shot five times. Police turned their attention to his girlfriend, Ashley Hoath, who is the one being interrogated in this video.
As always, we'll also find a bit about the psychology behind the interrogation and what is most likely happening in the mind of the suspect.
This is the interrogation of Ashley Hoath.

Welcome to the club. 💪
A whole new addiction!😅
I thought everyone was exaggerating how annoying her crying was…
They were not wrong
Yea I had to skip through some of it. The kept repeating herself anyway.
Oh, you haven’t heard anything annoying until you listen to Shawna Nelson’s interrogation and testimony on the witness stand. The mouth smacking is unbelievable… before nearly every sentence she speaks. She executed her lover’s wife right on her job.
I thought I was the only one who was annoyed 😂
I just started watching and now I’m second guessing if I should continue knowing what’s coming lol
i cant hardly do it
The fake crying is like torture to listen too and they sit there and take it
Geeze.... you are so right!!!
Came here to comment the same thing, her crying could win a prize for being so annoying
It’s so irritating I can’t concentrate
Yeth it's almost unbearable
More like sit there and let her think they're buying it
Her fake crying was the single most annoying thing I’ve ever heard in my life 😳
I struggled to get through that, those detectives are real heroes to sit through that tomfoolery.
Agreed! I thought I was the only person left that used the word tomfoolery!! YAY!! :)
lol I use it when something has truly left me lost for words 🤣🤣
I don't mind fake crying. It takes me back to the "blissful" days of being married.
I hate her. Nobody ever cries that way for that long. Nope. Nobody. I don't care who u are.
She won't be fake crying in Prison, she'll be crying for real behind bars .

Best comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣
I’m not kidding, but when I played this video My phone dropped twice to the floor, something I’ve never done before. I was busy doing something though so I didn’t hear the story. All I could hear was her crying! Minutes later I decided to watch it so I rewind it and I began to listening it. Now I’m aware why my phone dropped on the floor twice. I see that she’s lying to her teeth and I read some comments in which many viewers are bothered and angry by her acting.. I agree now!!
I would have jumped across that table! I i could not sit there and listen to her sit and cry
😂😂😂
Her voice while she was fake crying is like nails on a chalk board. Oh my god, ive never heard a voice THAT irritating in my life. The detectives are absolute troopers for being able to endure that. Literally had to turn my volume off multiple times. I genuinely dont know how much longer I can keep watching this, listening to her voice is taking actual years off my life.
So who did she kill?
@@wolf.eye._- anyone w ears

Couldn’t listen to her voice!
Try Dalia Dippolito. Her lisp combined with loud whining trying to manipulate her own victim makes me want to throw things. 😂 apologies/you're welcome ahead of time....🤣
They need to rearrange this interrogation room so the suspect is facing the camera...
That’s abstract thinking for some.
Moving the camera would also make sense.
They always let the suspect view the door… but the camera is on the wrong wall surprisingly Great audio
Ideally, it would be. However you cannot always install cameras with optimal placement, especially if it’s not a priority.
All they have to do is change seating positions.
Her cry talk actually caused damage to some of my organs. I will never forgive her for that.
lol. I can’t handle it. Leaving now, tho I love this channel.
😅😅😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
The insufferable fake crying should be recorded and used as a form of punishment for repeat offenders.
I love how she can make full statements without gasping or sobbing, then, upon finishing the sentence, the crying resumes
And the fact she didn’t grab for a tissue once, only when they mention the tissues to her at around 42:30, does she start to use her shirt as one because it clicked in her head that she should be using some.. which would be something they (should) pay attention to and should’ve caught on to
I’ve cried enough times in my life to be an expert lol and if you’re actually crying like that then you’re going to need more than one tissue and no amount of fake sniffs and fake rubs against your hands is gonna cut it
The sniffling in general and remembering to wipe away with her hands, to be fair, was a good touch, most miss out on the tissues AND the sniffling when pretending to cry
I think all this proved was she’s used this “crying” before enough to become almost convincing.. probably helped when getting the guy that was infatuated with her to kill her partner
I believe she's panic crying for real, they're not fake tears but they are tears for herself only.
@@jc6385 I agree
I think in a lot of these videos the crying is real... I just don't think the tears are for the person they murdered... It the realization their own lives are over... As far as being able to stop crying to talk.... I personally can have very real tears and sadness but pull it together to talk and communicate...
I like the way you think! Lol
Detectives: “we believe you”
Irritant: *fake sobs louder*
This is possibly the hardest video I’ve sat through
Omg its so hard not to be able to ch*ke her
The worst one for me is the one guy who keeps saying like in every sentence. He shot his girlfriend through a wall.
The worst for me was the one crime circus came out with this week. The girl screamed and cried for an hour straight. No interrogation, just a girl in the room having a meltdown. I got about 10 min in and checked the comments and found out there’s no interrogation, so I turned it off. Idk who could possibly listen to that for an hour.
“She had a previous criminal history with alcohol and marijuana violations”
That’s not really that bad……
“Including running someone over in her car while her 6 year old child was also present”
Oh……….
“And then while high on METH she -”
OHHHHHH……..
Wow
@@susanhitchmanevans1443 yeah for some reason i really thought this story was about to go somewhere with the “7 Amish kids were riding their horses” but nope……… WHOOOLE different direction
That's exactly what I was thinking too.....
They really did build up to that 😆
🤣🤣 The escalation
Is she laughing or crying?
I am nearly an hour in and I am shocked at how long she’s kept her “crying” going. Real crying is exhausting and I couldn’t keep it up for as long as she has.
Exactly!! I've noticed people in these interrogations that fake cry clearly don't realize that real crying doesn't look like this😅
Exactly and it hurts when you keep rubbing your eyes.
Exactly my thought. I feel absolutely nothing from her “crying”. Only thing she’s upset or worried about is getting caught
I'm 18 minutes in and I came to the comments to see when her fake irritating crying stops ... your comment has now made me want to give up with the video now 😂
I would have been wiped out & suffering from a migraine! Almost am now from listening to her!
That’s how I cry when I’m trying to get a reaction from my dog.

This video is like an endurance test for how long you can listen to her crying without pausing for a break. I could never be a detective.
I paused for a full 8 hrs lol. I was far too tired to endure anymore. Got a somewhat decent night's sleep and about 7 minutes in this morning and I'm already struggling again lol.

It's midnight where I am right now. I'm in bed bc I have to be up in 5 hours. There's construction work going on right outside my house with a literal jackhammer.
And she is somehow more annoying
almost !
I endured it because I was sure there would be a moment where she would instantly panic, and transition showing her true colors, but it never happened.
Jackhammer. Perfect.
@mimo _ Jackhammering late at night?🤔 Well, it makes an interesting comparison point in your comment. 🙄
Her interview was played in front of the jury and on four separate occasions the jurors jumped up and yelled, "Turn it off ... she's guilty ... life in prison ... TURN IT OFF !!!".

Just five minutes in and that fake cry is killing me!!!!
Thankfully she saved the jury from listening to this by pleading guilty to second degree murder TWO days before trial! The only good deed she's done for someone else 😂
I forgot about the whole case, lost focus because of her whinging!
My mom should have been in there with her. 2 minutes in my mom would get in her face and say “I’ll give you something to cry about”.

As a recovering drug addict, I cant stand it when someone blames their using on another person's actions. The dude sounds like he was not a nice boyfriend (if those accusations of abuse are true), but no one forces you to do drugs. You're a big girl, you are the reason you did drugs. You are also rhe reason your kids got taken away from you.
She's one of those people who can never accept any responsibility for anything wrong in their life. Things are always someone else's fault.
Yup. The "drug problem" is completely self inflicted.
Most everything is our own fault.
Most every disease begins with a choice.
Heck, even a broken leg is my own fault if I'm the one who chose to walk down the stairs and took a single misstep.
The human brain searches for reasons for every situation - especially one that's traumatic. (And yes, even if you're the bad guy.)
My dog was killed doing the same things she always does. Same thing every single day. But I've blamed myself. I've blamed the other 2 dogs. I've blamed my Husband - who wasn't even here. I've blamed the weather. The time of year. I blamed my dog herself....
I blamed the teenage boys driving down the road who live nearby and KNEW our dogs live and play here.
But at the end of the day, it was a combination of bad circumstances that just all happened at the wrong time. 😕
No one wakes up one day and says, "I think today I'll become an addict... " 🤔
Or "I think today I'll kill a dog". 😢
I fucking hate it when people blame their problems on others. You can explain it to them until youre blue in the face but theres ALWAYS someone else to blame for these people its enraging!!
@@Katrina-qs2rl
Lots of problems are "self inflicted".
That doesn't mean you can't be compassionate.
People make poor choices every day, even knowing the risks and the likelihood that something bad will happen if they do it. But they still choose to do that thing.
All I'm saying is it's not okay to blame others for what happens - especially if they truly didn't cause it.
But MOST people don't wake up and think, "I'm going to get in my truck, have an accident, and become paralyzed."
Even though hundreds of thousands of accidents happen in US traffic every day. So we should know better than to take the risk. But we tell ourselves that the convenience of getting there is worth the risk... plus we believe we can control the outcome. ("If I'm a good driver, I can control other drivers and avoid the accidents!")
Same with drugs or alcohol.
People know there's a risk. But there's no guarantee that you're going to get addicted to opiates just by taking one or two....
But then there are Millions who take meds only as directed and prescribed and they do get addicted.
Millions who think, "I'm just gonna try coke at this one party! It's no different than taking a shot of bourbon! Or trying a cigarette! Or pot! And I know SOOOOOOO many people who do it occasionally and THEY don't get addicted. So probably it won't hurt me either!"
Whether it's a car accident or an addiction, cancer from smoking kr painting or working, heart diseases from too much of your Grandma's home cooking, a broken leg from walk8ng down the stairs, or whatever else....
Yes. It's YOUR fault and YOUR FAULT ALONE.
But we should still have compassion for anyone whose had life bite them in the @$$. Because we all know we haven't exactly been perfect every second of every day or our entire lives.
Some of us got lucky though.
You probably did the same thing.
So much for love and tolerance.
Can you add the sentencing videos with these liars? I would love to see the reaction of these idiots when they're found guilty.

@@tapdancingrabbits124 The interrogators are trained to ignore outbursts of emotion like that in order to make the person they are interrogating to stop it, if they are faking it.
In the suspect's case it would actually be better to persist the display, because if you stop, then it is definitely showing that you were faking it. If you were experiencing genuine emotion you wouldn't care if the person you're crying to believes you or not, because you're still experiencing the emotion. I know right? It’s so painful to listen to. It’s like she doesn’t know how to just let it out. Like s she’s fighting back the tears the whole time
Oh my god. I had to start mocking that machine gun "crying" to keep myself from going insane. I always thought I was a patient person, but these detectives have me beat by a mile.
Lolol this is the comment that sent me- I'm doing it in my mind but I think I'll get mad even if I should make these sounds authentically, at some point.
Lol ew
🤣🤣🤣
Its the "machine gun" crying for me 😂🤣🤣
Lmao I did the same shit how funnt
Im sitting here like "ooooohuhuhuhuhuuuuuh to you too" and my cats keep looking like me like im on something
Could you imagine the absolute horrors her parents were forced to endure raising her??
They made her that way…
Parents are at fault too
They probably didn't raise her and that's why she is the way she is. I'm about to throw my phone with her snivelling! I'm so glad her kids are away from this madness maybe they'll have a chance now.
I suspect that this behavior originated from around the age of the Terrible Two's. That's when the standoff between parent and kiddos begins. As the struggle for control continues, one side will win. In this case, kiddo won over parents and thus began the saga of Ashley.
Lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Her "crying" is infuriating!!!
I am not laughing at you but the comment just resonates with how annoyed I am 😂
Her fake sobbing crying makes this unwatchable unfortunately.
same
I would confess to anything just to get away from the sound of her voice.
Ha ha I know if I'd been interrogating her I'd have said you know what? I did it 😆😆😆
Lmfao
god I'm only at 20:49 and I already can't stand her fake crying anymore to anyone who sat through all of this and those detectives I have so much respect for you. I need a break
I can tolerate and tune out a lot. Constant dripping from a leaky faucet, a running toilet, the buzz of a deep freezer, my cat snoring, Jack hammers, but her cry/talking is a tad annoying
What about a smoke alarm bleeping lol
@@roseyb 😆😆😆😆😆
Jack hammering 🤣💀
🤣
Lol
the fact she was fake crying the whole time annoys me 🙄
just like A. Heard
props to the cops for patiently putting up with the crocodile tears.
IMO the hehehe-cry was hilarious 😂
The WHOLE TIME?!?!.... 🤦Fuck
I love the way these cops just drop reasons for her to "be scared" and then admit she was at the murder scene, etc. What a narcissist! Thank God her kids were taken away from her!
Since detectives aren’t allowed to waterboard, play this. A criminal will beg to give up the truth in 5 minutes.
She’s sobbing like it’s gonna help her… lady, these detectives have seen it all. Can’t tell if she’s laughing or crying?!?! VERY annoying 😭
She’s like “hohohohoho 😭”
Then she’s like 😐 when asked a question
Haha at least the sponsor is planting a tree to replace the bit of paper they're wasting.
And the Oscar goes to..."Ashley Hoath" for the best performance during a police interrogation.
Anyone (without eyes and ears) could CLEARLY understand why somebody would be obsessed w her
😳
🤣🤣🤣
😂👍🏻
I knew exactly what she would look like even before she turned around.
I think I have seen too many interrogation videos. I laugh every time the cops say, "We are giving you the opportunity to tell us what happened. This is your one and only chance. We are here for you". Like, wow! You mean you're gonna do me that favor!? These people keep believing they can talk their way out of it. The interrogation is not set up to help them. Criminals are dumb.
Truth!!!
Truth !!!
My favorite is "I don't think you're a bad person"
@@JessBecause77 "You're NOT that monster (internally: I know you're that monster)" lol
Right...they do that cuz they can talk their way out of going to jail THAT night...if theyd lawyer up and post a bond without talking half of em would probably get off or at least get a way lighter sentence
I’ve watched so many of these interrogations I feel sorry for my son when he tries to lie to me , I’ve been taught to see right through that sht 😮💨😂🤣🤣
i love this for you lmao XD
Haha my husband says I watch too much of this too
100% this😂 my kids ain't getting anything past me any more since I watch interrogation tapes every day, i know when you lying boy😂
Normally I watch these interrogation videos as I fall asleep every night. They somehow are great for me to fall asleep too… but not this video.. her crying sounds like something my sleep paralysis demons would do.
Hilarious so associate
Lol I do the same exact thing and people think I’m morbid or weird because I listen to murder stories to go to sleep lol
When she said, “ Am I in any trouble, or do I just go home, I mean I don’t know what to do,” 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
“Think of your children”
I don’t think that works on her type
Ffs it was not all this “Jeremy” guys fault! It was HER FAULT
Especially considering she almost allowed one ov her young children to drown while she was passed out after a meth bender!
She is a terrible mother.
No one cries for that long non-stop. What BS.
pardon my tardy, but i just adore the way you glossed over how the Amish EVEN reach the police to begin with
What's a Amish???
I watch a few behavior analysts on RUclips, and all of them state that a human body cannot be in duress for extended periods of time because it will burn out. The length of time she is carrying on here is suspicious.
My thoughts exactly! I was thinking how can she possibly have any tears left to cry?
Yeah, this performance is excessive! Especially since she started out so calm until she knew the detectives knew more than she was telling them. Now all of a sudden she is heartbroken and so sorry that she just went home and never said anything. I'm so sick of her and I'm not even halfway through the interview!
this interrogation room reeks of straight bull💩! he made me do drugs...gtfoh!! she needs that raspberry award...worst actress!
Faking it is even more tiring than the real thing. So..... Not necessarily good proof she is faking, everyone. She may be acting to a degree, and tge sobbing is a defensive barrier for sure.... But she does not seem like an experienced murderer nor a heartless shock-proof psychopath.... She lost all calm as soon as she listened so intently to officers telling her they were convinced she was in danger. She totally heard her own worst fears confirmed and froze for that or a different reason. Her reaction was one of collapse/relief.... And confession. Not suspicious.
The crazy part for me is all these women in her situation remind me of my ex. Without a doubt, these videos remind me why I am going to be single and just raise my kids.
Lol I get it, but don't write us ALL off because of a few crazy b*tches 🤪😆
I feel you, Bro.
Hey... Remaining respectful of your position and in all sincerity, you really should unravel the reasonings, for attraction to toxic types so you can hand that Invaluable wisdom, down to your children.
I had more toxic friends than love interests and it was just as damaging- I don't want my child to be the nourishment for any emotional/psychological or physical, predators.
I'm sure that you want the best, of reciprocal connections, for them- we have to show them how, through what we've learned, from our wins And losses.
I find it interesting that you are implying this kind of sick criminality is only present in women. There are plenty of problematic people across both genders.
@@juliekennedy9891 How did you come to that conclusion?
Detective:We're here for you,we care about you
Me:Ya right😂😂😂
What makes this funnier, is that one detective looks like Rick from Pawn Stars. He just stares at her😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Those two detectives deserve a cookie for going through all that craziness
They deserve more than a cookie 🍪🤣🤣 patience of saints 😇
Make that a dozen cookies. 😆
Everybody knows Styyven ate the cookies😂
When you become a parent you can always tell them fake tears lol
Yep , I'll second that my friend
Yes! I run a daycare and she sounds like the 2 year olds I have running around. They might even be able to squeeze a few tears out but she is totally faking and it’s not believable in any way.
Or have just been around people long enough to read them, and tell fake from real emotion.
Or a daycare worker lol
Very true lol
I read about this story as I was listening to her. She was offered a deal to testify against her co-defendant for 25-40 years. She ended up bailing on her promise to do that and said it was for fear there would be retaliation towards her kids. The judge went ahead and still gave her that time regardless. Her appeal was denied promptly. I don't believe a word she says. I believe this was a malicious, purposeful act done with intent and fury. Jeremy was clearly not the best person on the planet, but no one deserves what they did to him.
Edit: He covered a lot of what I said at the end 😊
“For fear there would be retaliation towards her kids” - imagine using your own children as bargaining chips when she is already well aware that by now everyone knows that she wilfully gave them up for a man, whom she then went on to take out….
Logic? Ethics? Morals? she doesn’t have a dam thing.
@@srlkiller shoulda thought about the safety of her kids long before she chose to do this. she clearly wasn't worried for them while she was busy killing someone else's kid.
@@isabellaannunciation168 she never cared about her kids it seemed… i was reiterating that point. they were subjected to the foster care system due to her incompetence long before this, she never was a good ‘person’… let alone a good ‘mother’.
@@srlkiller Agree 100%
@@isabellaannunciation168 Agree!
Hats off to the patience these two detectives demonstrated while interrogating Elmer Fudd. Geez…
Normal people: omg poor crying thing 🥺
True crime junkies: "all the 'sobbing' is distracting..." 😂
😂😂😂👆❤️
It's not that crying, it's that it's obviously fake crying to elicit sympathy from the stone-faced detectives, and they way it sounds evokes nails on a chalkboard.
@@yellowblanka6058 wow I really thought it was real. Thank you sir. 🤣
It is distracting 😂😂😂 she’s a piece of work
@@yellowblanka6058 hence my (granted, singular, because it was already within a quotation) quotation marks around "sobbing" in the second part, we know love, we know 😂
Gosh this detectives need a raise. This is brutal. She went to disrespecting the victim to crying that he’s passed. Insane.
People in the comments saying her crying is irritating but I just close my eyes and imagine a hungry pelican munching on some bagpipes
That’s funny😋
Wtf lol
Watching Clark’s interrogation would be cherry on top. Be interesting to see how he reacts when they ultimately tell him what story she was concocting to shift all the blame to seem innocent
34:00 the worst of the excruciating, fight-or-flight inducing sobbing is over.
Honestly, that's a clever learned tactic to avoid accountability on her part - a regular person wouldn't want to deal with that crying to get to the bottom of anything, they'd give up.
Bless you child
😂😂😂
Tysm
Thank you. I couldn’t stomach much more of that 🐊 😭 🙉
The real mvp
Did she EVER pick up a tissue within the hour and a half she cried and sobbed? I missed it if she did.
Good point.
No need for tissues, when there are no tears...
She produced as many tears as Amber Heard.
I only saw the one he originally handed to her.
@@mariusvanc so she rub the tissue all over her face to get to her nose lol
The dulcet tones of self pity as Hoath realises her wonderful plan is falling apart 😵💫
Every sob is for herself not the victim
Of course a ridiculous excuse for a human being has a name like “Hoath”
Absolutely!
oh sweet baby jesus… 🙉 kudos to those interrogators for sitting through this! but also chapeau to her for being able to hold up a conversation, forming full sentences, doing her hair etc while constantly fake crying. that’s talent! 😂 unbelievable!
