Never understood the hate for this record. Not their best, but there are some great songs on it. And no, I’m not talking about the two singles. Save Our Souls is the standout
Razzle was in the passenger seat and Vince was driving. They went on a liquor run. Not only that they hit two people in another car. Vince got off the hook with just probation and 2 million dollars in fines. A couple of the songs on Theater of Pain were originally from the Shout at the Devil era. Louder then Hell was originally Hotter then Hell. This was my first Motley album. My personal favorite song off this album Save Our Souls. Sixx wasn't the greatest base player but he wrote most of the songs. You should check out the book Heroin Diaries. Some crazy ass stories in it.
I absoulety love thr first two albums. Its a solid album. Home sweet home is a classic. Save our souls is their most underated song. I always like we need a lover, use it or lose it, and Louder then Hell.
I was eighteen in 1985 and totally stoked to get the new Motley Crue album after listening to Shout at the Devil every day for a year or more. And then I get home and drop the needle on Side 1 hoping to hear Shout at the Devil 2 and...aah not so much. My teenage disappointment much the same when listening to Judas Priest's Turbo by a year later.
ABSOLUTELY BEST HARD ROCK/METAL/ROCK ALBUM FROM THE BEST BAND THAT HAVE EVER WALKED ON EARTH LONG LIVE THE FUCKING CRUE STILL ROCKIN EVERY OTHER BAND OUT OF THIS PLANET
I like Theatre. I was 13, perfect age for it. When a person lives throughout the band’s history, a person can really know the albums. We don’t rely on just looking back and comparing albums from the band. Music changes with the times, just like music fans do. Just looking back and ranting about it kind of makes people sound like posers. I appreciate your opinions, but not the overall approach.
Yes, if I were able to edit down the album by half it might look like this: 01) City Boy Blues 02) Smokin' In The Boys Room 03) Louder Than Hell 04) Keep Your Eye On The Money 05) Fight For Your Rights
this was on the verge of being a bubble gum album their look changed and the metal fans questioned if crue were turning posers NOTE *( i grew up in the metal scene in phoenix arizona which at that time claimed to be the heavy metal capital of the world we partyed like it was i myself was in a band named JT RIPPER) about theater girls loved it guys tolerated it fortunately for heavy metalers there was this other new upcoming band we were hearing about named metallica this was a great almost surreal time to be young
I have been listening to Motley Crue since the first record when I was 14.... Then Shout at the Devil was amazing.. This Record was a joke and it sucked!! It was nice years later finding out that Nikki Sixx agreed with me. This record is leftover trash

This is my third favorite Motley record after SATD & TFFL but Dr. Feelgood is solid too🤘

my 3rd favorite Motley album
Not a bad album, but I would love it if they had a different vocalist. LOL, even the cat was trying to knock the cd off the table.
Too Fast for Love and Shout at the Devil were MC best albums. Theatre of Pain was a disappointment
Never really hated it but do not really want to hear at this point. He ran Razzle over, I thought they crashed ?
I just popped by real quick to say this album sucks it!
The audio makes this review unlistenable
It would make a way better EP
Just cut half the songs off
