Cecilia, can you make videos about different people who live on Svalbard? A day in the life of the vet. A day in the life of a hotel manager. A day in the life of a new mother. A day in the life of a cook.
I have tons of videos like that on my page including this video where I walk from my house to the bar and stop to talk to some locals! ruclips.net/video/wCQTnfKmx6A/видео.html
My husband ( who just past away) & I were in Svalbard on a cruise ship just before pandemic. Such a contrast to Florida. Enjoyed seeing this part of the world. His relatives were from Bergen. A nice memory. I hope to visit again. Wishing you health & happiness. Jeanne (retired RN)
You know how crazy that probably is to people. You’re watching this girl on RUclips preparing for your trip for months, you finally get there and she’s tending one of the shops you go to.
I love rainy, foggy, misty, gloomy days. I'm not a summer person AT ALL. Where I live it's been glaringly bright sunshine, heat, and humidity. I have no desire to do anything but sit on the sofa in front of the air conditioner. Weather like you're having motivates me: it's refreshing, cool, and light. I've had enough of the oppressive heat and humidity and already looking forward to autumn. Thanks for the mood boost.
Aloha Hawaii was same during pandemic. Reefs healing, respect for one another everyone wears a mask & many locals still do. Beaches were so nice to go to, no one around. During the height of pandemic you could only go to the beach for exercise, you had to get in the water...food was limited & slow to get anything! We didn't mind, you just make do cause we get to experience things many others will never get a chance to see. Hiking to remote waterfalls my favorite! Aloha 🌼 🌸 🍍 🏄♂️ 🌊
I feel like there’s way more tourists here now than ever before. Hopefully it’ll die down soon. Lockdown was the best because you know it was only locals you’d see. We took our kids to Waikīkī beach for the first time then! We went a few times when Hawaiʻi was closed and I know we’ll never do that again-WAY too many ppl there. 😒
Hello from zero degrees latitude on the equator in Ecuador! Very happy I found your channel on a Sunday afternoon. I am fascinated by extreme and faraway places. What a magical place you live in, indeed. I also moved far away from my native Georgia in the United States and have been living in the Andes mountain town of Otavalo, Ecuador for almost 11 years. So "Hola" from one magical place to another with many degrees in between! :)
Maybe it would be good to work the shop once a month or so, get the different perspective, and socialize? It certainly made for a nice video. And it was sweet how Christoffer and Grimm came up to check on you, bring you home. They missed you.
I understand the difficulty of working at a store you love to shop at! I worked at Anthropologie for several years, and I’m pretty sure all my salary went right back into the store 😂😂
I am so glad i found your channel. I live in Germany and work in the Logistics there. It is a very stressful Job. Besides the 30min break it's full on work. It's like "go go go"! Which i don't mind, but this and the general culture of "work work work" gets to me. I got diagnosed with Depression 7 years ago and i can feel my mind deteriorate each day. What you are doing, or better where you are living is what i long for, and i would have never known if i haven't found your Channel. Svalbard seems so clean, so serene and it feels like that kinda Home i've never known. Now that i know of it, i got a set goal which i will 100% pursue, so that one day my mind will know peace and "home". You really are a gem on youtube and I really thank you. Because of you I can now put in words what I missing in life.
I also live in a tourist town (Juneau, Alaska) and we have 3 to 5 cruise ships visit each day from May through September. If you and Christofer ever find your way to the Alaska panhandle for a visit, I would love to show you around my town. After all, I feel like I am getting to know your town quite well from your videos. Thank you for the wonderful photography and the peaceful music you include on your channel. Best wishes.
ive never related SO MUCH to anyone until I saw you in all black outfit brushing this cream and white dog... dogg fluff everywhere AND you saved it in a bag! i am doing the same thing on the other side of the world right now! :)
3/7/92 got up at 0500 and saw the MV Norsel steaming down the fjord. So happy I was leaving Svalbad after camping rough for 18 days. Keeping a diary is priceless. Greeting from Australia 🇦🇺
I am sure your channel is a big reason why a lot of people want to visit Svalbard now and why they then recognize you! You are definitely Svalbard’s tourism ambassador! 😎
I’m an American expat living in hot Vietnam and your videos are hands-down my favorite escape! I love everything about them and am always sad when they end. And, those black ankle boots are amazing!
I have been watching your channel for a while now. Catching on various things I've missed and keeping up to date. What I notice is that you are so positive about all aspects of your home, the climate, weather, jobs, activities. Every time you describe something it's with words like isn't this beautiful. look at the colours. What a lovely day. Other channels and people can be so negative like oh this is so hot, one person I was watching yesterday was in Mexico and on a boat in the ocean and she said oh the water is so salty Sheesh!!!. To be so positive is such a fantastic trait to have and thank you. It makes me feel better just for watching.
We have a Northern Inuit. It is a breed created from husky, malamute and German shepherd. She also sheds twice a year, September to February, and then March to August!
I have autoimmune disease including Rheumatoid Arthritis. I get very bad headaches when it rains and all my joints swell, especially in my hands. It's fun seeing a day in your life, even when it isn't boating, snowmobile, etc. Thanks for bringing us along.
Hope your headache went away. I used to call them barometric migraines. Definitely love a moody overcast day. It’s a nice break from the heat in NJ. Hugs & love to you, Christoffer, & Grim ❤️❤️❤️

Brave woman brushing a fluffy dog while wearing all black! I get dressed just before leaving, don't touch anything (or anyone) and don't sit. When I come home it is reversed. Two cats and one dog are the 'anyone' :) and they manage to shed hair all year! Our first cruise ship in two years arrived this week, but they went directly onto buses so were not walking around. If you don't know already, when you make your Grim sweater, you'll need to mix it with wool or llama fiber so it won't fall apart. Dog hairs don't have the "barbs" to hold together. There's a funny story I remember reading about a woman who wore her home knit dog sweater to a cocktail party to have it fall to pieces by the end of the evening.
It should be amazing to live there in that extraordinary environment surrounded by the Artic Ocean, glaciers, enchanted landscapes and wild nature. Moreover the weather is so fresh whereas in Italy we are dying of heat. Also your doggie is so nice and tender. Thank you for sharing this awesome video with us.
I would die if I walked in and found you in the shop! I'd want to sit and chat with you all day - with delicious coffee of course! :). I love moody misty weather, so beautiful in magical, treasure of Svalbard. Your relationship with Grim is the sweetest. Indeed, how special to live the life you do but you realize this, appreciate and respect where you are and work so hard with Christoffer to have and create your life.
Cecilia you are perfect for a store like that, you are adorable, happy, dress very well and like people, the perfect employee. I hope your family in Portugal is well, I saw Portugal had a spike on the new variant of the crud. Stay safe and healthy.
I was trying to get an idea of the temperature on the day you went to work I don't think I've ever seen Svalbard without snow. It was fun to see a change in your routine. Hi to Christoffer and Grim. Cheers, Cecilia.
I love your videos, the scenery and the absolute calm of life there! I get a daily dose of wonder and relaxation from the views. After spending 45 years working in Los Angeles, now medically unable to travel, at least I can dream of that kind of life and actually see it as if I was there..thank you!
Hi Cecelia, I wish I was one of the people who saw you in the shop! I would tell you how much I enjoy your videos and love seeing you, Christopher and Grim, I loooove Grim. Hope you have no more headaches. I get them sometimes when the weather changes too.❤🐈
We Americans could learn a lot from this channel. To be content with a few things you love and a nice view.. I think many of us here in America are unhappy because we aren’t content.. Your channel gives me hope:)
Recently found your channel and I've been binge watching your videos. Svalbard is so beautiful and it's amazing to see the landscape and how you live there And I relate so much to the furry snowfall of a shedding dog! My dog has the same coat type as Grim and even daily brushing can't save you 😂 Won't stop me getting more fluffy Northern breeds though, they've got so much character 🥰
I live on the east coast on Canada and we get lots of fog,as well. I love your videos they are so calming and the scenery is so amazing, I like to,watch your videos on my big tvs so I,can enjoy your photography. Have a great week!
You have my favorite RUclips channel!I cannot wait for every video ! I hope you have music In the shop while you’re working. I cannot wait to visit on a sightseeing vacation. Seriously, I love the cold . ..So to me you have the ideal location and life. You are Svalbard’s supermodel, Celia you are so gorgeous! Those of us who are addicted to Christopher , Grim and You really enjoy this! When my two little dogs see Grim they bark at the tv . They love watching him play in the snow so much . I call Bella and Luna to watch Grim and they come running they know his name. Grim doesn’t know it , but he has two little girlfriends in America 🌸🌺🎊❤️🎉💕
What a treat it would be to meet you at Frost! My BFF was just in Longyearbyen while traveling north on a polar bear expedition. I was so jealous. I’ve been working from home since March 2020 and it has changed so much how I interact in person now with people. I think it’s a global phenomenon. Oh, and lots of Grim time in this vlog. Very nice to see so much of your boy.
I loved hearing the birds and natural sounds of your world and love when you speak your language to each other 💜 We have had a lot of gloomy rainy weather here in Calgary Alberta Canada. I am hoping it will mean less forest fires this year 🔥
I go through so many emotions and feelings while watching your videos! I have been watching you for over a year now ( I'm one of the peeps that found you during the pandemic) and am fascinated with your life. There are some similarities with where I live as we also are a remote spot on the planet and suffer from over tourism. I detest the cruise ships! The months when our island was shut down and off limits to visitors was a dream state that I wish had no ending.🥰🌈 I love Grimm so much and always appreciate when he is predominant in any of your videos.💖🐶💖 You are such a good mommy to him! Bless you for taking such good care of him and giving him so much love. He is such a teddy bear! I live vicariously through your videos as I would love nothing better than to have a big cuddly dog such as Grimm to give me sweet love and comfort and in turn give me a sweet creature to receive my abundance of love. Thank you lovely lady for shining your light bright and offering us such an interesting look into life at the top of the world!! 🌎 Aloha from Hawaii!🌈💖💫🙋♀️
Svalbard always looks fairytale like 💖 so good to see you at Frosts again, hope your headache cleared up really quickly, love to you, Chris and Grim xx
Your cozy videos are by far my favorite; especially when there's a beautiful scenic intro. I could never get tired of these types of videos. Grimm and Christopher are always the cherry on top, for sure! 😊
When I came back to my hotel job after COVid I knew my job like the back of my hand. The problem was learning where everything is again . Our kitchen is and was always hide and go seek for equipment.
Cecilia! I wanna thank you for such nice and cozy channel. I live in Ukraine and it calms me so much, when I watch your videos. I never knew that so many people from my country used to work there and mine coal. You made me fell in love with Svalbard. First thing Im going to do after we done with russian army, is to visit Svalbard and enjoy it’s beauty. Thank you once again, much love ❤
Thank you, Cecilia, for the way you bring us into your life. We appreciate your natural and fun way of presenting and keen eye for great shots. Much love to you, Christoffer and Grim. I want to see that sweater!
Truly Amazing and awesome. I am totally addicted to your videos, Grim and all things Svalbard! Svalbard has been on my bucket list for over 30 years, also Greenland, Nordkapp. I unfortunately, will never go back to Norway or travel to these places but thank YOU for your posts and giving me and everyone a taste of your life and the most Beautiful, incredible, special place at the top of the world
Good day ! Thank you for the trip into Svalbard and your temporary job. I noticed you said your ear piercing and finger nail cuticle on one finger were swollen. Please don’t’t ignore the fingernail issue - the manicurist suggested you take a break from polish as you had a reaction to a product- I think she is right - nail infections are serious. Make a doctors appointment and have them check it out.
Just love y’all! I am from a small town in central Arkansas! I come from a long line of Norwegian and Dutch. Plus alittle German and English. So watching your videos feels like a little glimpse into my family. Thanks for always being your cheerful self.
Love this vlog, Cecilia. Always enjoy seeing the village and all the goings on, and of course Christoffer and Grim. I just brushed our dog out yesterday and it always amazes me how much hair comes out. It truly is insane. Grim was such a good boy and looked so handsome after. ❤️
Good luck on your first day1. You have done your city a service by your beautiful videos, information of the lifestyle, and just a pure delight! Thank you so much. You both are awesome...
Just researched how much it would cost to fly (one way) from Brisbane, Australia to Longyearbyen. Cheapest flights were about $5.5K AUD… Most were about $16.5K AUD. 😱😱😱
You must not be doing it right then. Never book as one flight right through. Just did a dummy booking Melbourne-Oslo on Qatar return and Oslo to Svalbad return on SAS in October totally $3k. For $16k you'd be flying either business or this afternoon and paying last minute walk up prices
I know exactly what you mean about working a normal job vs from home. I’m trying to find ways to do more in person as I’ve realised how refreshing it is to have a social element to work days.
Really enjoyed this video. We fly in to Longyearbyen tomorrow and I hope the weather isn’t cloudy and damp. We really enjoy your insights into life on Svalbard
I’m in love with Grimm, he’s so beautiful ❤️ I only found your channel a few months ago and am going through your past videos which I find so interesting and you’re very amusing to watch lol. What a lovely place to live, very atmospheric and you and Christopher seem very happy there. Hope your channel continues for a long time to come 🙏😊
Thank you for sharing your day at work. Grim reminds me of our Golden, Ella. Every time we brush her in certain places she expects treats and we have to be patient too. Lol
It's night and day experiencing your seasons! From cold, icy, black days, to bright, sunny, warm days. I look forward to the next vid with cool, amazing things!
I really like your calm videos. They have such a nice atmosphere and helped me to calm down when I struggle with anxiety. Even when I can't imagine living there :D I cannot handle cold weather and winter well.

I love you photography/videography . It’s stunning. As is your beautiful positive personality and thirst for life ! Hope you are feeling well.
Recently found your channel and I've been binge watching your videos. Svalbard is so beautiful and it's amazing to see the landscape and how you live there
And I relate so much to the furry snowfall of a shedding dog! My dog has the same coat type as Grim and even daily brushing can't save you 😂 Won't stop me getting more fluffy Northern breeds though, they've got so much character 🥰
Cecillia you are so fun to watch! Always so happy to see Grim, just like all of us!! I truly enjoy your videos so much. Keep em going!!❤
I live on the east coast on Canada and we get lots of fog,as well. I love your videos they are so calming and the scenery is so amazing, I like to,watch your videos on my big tvs so I,can enjoy your photography. Have a great week!
I love that finally you can go outside without bundling up! ☺️
Yes, it was a really good day for you and us indeed! You make wonderful "just a normal day" vlogs. They are by far my favourites 🧡. Kram från Götet!
Grimm is so happy he wags his whole body ❤️🐾🐾❤️
I think it's funny when dogs wag their whole butt and not just their tail
What a treat it would be to meet you at Frost! My BFF was just in Longyearbyen while traveling north on a polar bear expedition. I was so jealous. I’ve been working from home since March 2020 and it has changed so much how I interact in person now with people. I think it’s a global phenomenon. Oh, and lots of Grim time in this vlog. Very nice to see so much of your boy.
I loved hearing the birds and natural sounds of your world and love when you speak your language to each other 💜 We have had a lot of gloomy rainy weather here in Calgary Alberta Canada. I am hoping it will mean less forest fires this year 🔥
Thank you for sharing your life!❤️I love being introduced to places I never imagined existed! Grimm is precious.❤️
I love seeing Svalbard in the summer rain! I feel like we always see it snowy or sunny or both together, but I like this gloomy weather too!
Such a beautiful area of the world! Thanks for sharing this with us! Just found your channel and I am hooked
Stay safe❤❤
Hoping the Russians leave you guys alone forever. Wishing you victory and peace.
Your dog is so sweet and so well behaved.
So peaceful...this is refreshing to see in such a chaotic world. I am envious.
Just love y’all! I am from a small town in central Arkansas! I come from a long line of Norwegian and Dutch. Plus alittle German and English. So watching your videos feels like a little glimpse into my family. Thanks for always being your cheerful self.
Been in hospital having my baby and have been kept in no ice home much I needed this video. And a cute bonus to the start 🥰🥰
Congratulations 🤗
CONGRATULATIONS!
Thank you for sharing your world.
It makes ours bigger.
GOD MORGON!! Thanks for sharing! What a difference from the winter to the weather, now! Still stunning! Have a great week!
I just want to snuggle with Grim. He looks so soft and friendly.
Love your videos! I also love your positivity. Thank-you, your videos are always so calming and positive.
Celilla, you helped us through the Pandemic…. It was always so nice to look forward to your videos… thank you..❤️
Thank you for watching! 🧡🧡
I would love an in depth tour of the downtown shops and restaurants etc.
I know exactly what you mean about working a normal job vs from home. I’m trying to find ways to do more in person as I’ve realised how refreshing it is to have a social element to work days.
Haven't check in for awhile. Always love the scenery scenes, congrats on another successful day on the edge of the world!😎👍
0:37 happy puppy doing a little happy tap tap :D
I love watching this channel especially when we have extremely hot weather here… I can even feel a little bit cool while I am watching
I have the same feeling! So hot where I live...love viewing these videos of cold places!
Sunday immediately gets better with a video from you. Happy (belated) St Patrick’s Day from Ireland ☘️🇮🇪🌈
Lol
Grimm is so good so well behaved.♥️♥️
It's night and day experiencing your seasons! From cold, icy, black days, to bright, sunny, warm days. I look forward to the next vid with cool, amazing things!
I am so glad I found your channel. Love everything you share and the images of the landscapes are stunning.
I really like your calm videos. They have such a nice atmosphere and helped me to calm down when I struggle with anxiety. Even when I can't imagine living there :D I cannot handle cold weather and winter well.
Recently found your channel and I've been binge watching your videos. Your channel has been the best find this year! Svalbard is so beautiful and I am dreaming of visiting one day!
I am thrilled that I stumbled upon your channel! Love all the information and history of Svalbard. It’s a long way from Michigan in the USA
Thanks for all these video's! I cannot imagine living in this place myself so pretty cool to see your positivism and the the possibilities you create! And I had no clue that Spitsbergen is huuuuuuge!!! ciao from the Netherlands.
Two questions for you Cecelia:
- Does grim get groomed?
- where do you store your trash?
Another beautiful video Cecilia! 🙌💕💕I love to see Grimm he is such a beautiful and sweet dog 💕🧡❤️thanks for sharing your amazing life with us! 🙏🙏🥰
Grim is the star. What a great dog
So glad to have stumbled upon your channel!! I love the “leave your bearded man while you shop pace”, I laughed out lot! Thanks for educating us on Svalbard in such a fun and creative way!
♥️♥️ from Chicago, IL
"Somebody's gotta work!" Little passive aggressive jab there? LOL 😂 love your channel!!
Thanks for sharing!!! I just love to see your days in Svalbard! Would love to go there and experience that beauty.
Thank you for sharing a day in your life, it was a lot of fun😊. Hugs to you three🧡🐾🧡
Cecilia what a lovely upload.. not just visiting with you all but learning, seeing another part of our great big glorious word is so satisfying.. This was such a happy experience. Fun, this was really fun and so are you... 🐕🦌🦈🐋🐦🐧
Love your videos! And you're right working from home and then going back to an in person job is fun (if you enjoy your job and your coworkers :))
