I think having a down to earth deadpool movie right after secret wars would be really smart... like Spiderman: Far from home. Deadpool could easily make secret wars jokes and it be extremely relevant, but deadpool could also fit into a story that isn't nearly as high concept and doesn't need any cameos to fill it out after an avengers movie. Could be pretty cheaply made too, and would likely get a billion.

The ONLY reason this movie exploded at the BO was there it had WOLVERINE and it was taking place ( Some what) in the MCU. If this was just a regular Dead Pool 3 with no WOLVERINE or cameos, it wouldn't even sniff anywhere near 1 Billion. Same thing applies for another HULK movie, VERY LOW returns at the BO regardless of how fans enjoyed both solo films. PERSONALLY I wouldn't pour BIG MONEY into a Hulk film that NEEDED many MCU characters in it to make a decent financial return at the BO. Ryan Reynolds made two on his own and both did very well. Deadpool and Wolverine was done to get Hugh Jackman back to play Wolverine. It is a great film and don't think another Deadpool film could ever be better then this one as best friends have worked together now so you cant top it. Three great films made should stop while they are on top nothing else can top this for Deadpool. Love Deadpool 1x2 and third one but think that should be it now as anything that may be done will be compared to the third film.

You make some really good points. Even on my second viewing I was getting a little burnt out on Deadpool so a rest until at least DoomsDay or Secret Wars would be a great idea. Failing that, make him the new Stan Lee, have him pop in for a background cameo in the MCU as he tries to find his way to the Avengers. But hopefully they'll close the Multiverse up after Secret Wars because I'm done with it.

I just saw the movie. It was a great movie on its own... but, super let down by the story and how it's supposed to connect to the mcu.
