You can also use the wick part that you cut off for the heart candle! Just glue it into a washer or coin or just on the bottom of the jar! It’s way less wasteful that way

For the Candles, you can boil some hot water, Pour the hot water in the wax candle jar, Don’t fill it all the way, the wax will rise up then you leave it to dry, then the wax will be a thin lair of dried wax and if you get that same candle, same size, you can reuse that remaining candle with the new one
I remember when I was a kid, we used crayons for wax (sometimes adding a scent) and make Pilar candles. We would line the inside of a paper towel tube, a toilet paper tube or a Pringles can with wax paper, we would melt our wax and place paperclips at the bottom with a hemp like string for a wick. While it was melting we would crush up ice and put it in the tubes and pour the wax over it and have cool crackled candles when we got them out of the mold (Make sure to use something underneath to catch the melting ice.) I see no reason why it wouldn't work for this.

Pour boiling water in and the wax will float to the top and let it cool. Cleans it and your left with a flat wax circle & a clean jar

some tips for you, sticking the candle in hot water(not submerged) the wax will slide out, the wick can be dipped into wax instead of hot glue

You could have just put boiling water in it a let it cool to get wax off instead of using soap and water. It is less work
