Hey thanks for the video! Question that I really hope you can answer. If there is light being shot from side A and side Z both on TX will both a directional arrows light up?
Hi, thanks for the video. I am having problems with mine. after replacing the batteries, it remains with an OFF message on the screen, and it doesn't work, I can't turn it off or on. The buttons don't respond. Do you know what could be wrong? Thanks
Sorry, we haven't experienced anything like that before, so we won't be much help. Outside of the basics, which I'm sure you already tried of replacing the batteries with new ones, if that doesn't work, then I would say that its gone bad on you. They are pretty basic units, so I think you might be out of luck unless they might still be under warranty.
Do you know how it detects a signal? I saw a technician using one and wasn't sure how the unit worked. The fiber he was looking at wasn't connected on his end and he found it was dead so I didn't get to see it work. At first I thought maybe it pierced the jacketing like a bed of nails on a buttset, but figured that wouldn't be good.

@rlehs Thanks to answer, yes I think I just had bad luck..and no I don't have any warranty. I will call this guy and see if I can send it to fix it..
Strictly speaking the tool does not detect traffic. It is only detecting the light traveling through the fiber.

Joe, I know it bends the cable just enough to cause the light to be detected. It doesn't need to damage the cable to see that light.
Rs...??
