They have one on staff, they quite literally derive the authority of Director from an anomaly gifted to them by extra dimensional being/s and if you ever levitate up to the top of the NSC power plant you'll see that they also have another one locked away there. As such a high or low hume level is literally far from normal.
This might sound strange but I feel like what you wrote at the end there is better than any quote you gave so far: "Either way, we're still here." This was so amazing! I kept listening, totally confused, but the pieces slowly fit together near the end!! Idk why but I’m gonna summarize me figuring it out because I felt like a detective lol When I heard the humans near the cell were mutating hair, limbs, tumors, and becoming “stupider” and violent, it sounded like some Sarkic shit to me. Then I remembered that this ancient facility had green writing, which I knew was where the mekhanites came from. Then the cell said “return to my domain” and I basically knew it was yaldabaoth. Omega confirmed this for me by saying ”my children,” talking about their beautiful technology, and mentioning it’s broken heart Tl;dr: I was so confused for the first like 15min but then I realized the cell seems Sarkic and everything fit so well together. My jaw dropped when I finally understood what was going on!
When I heard what the entity said and finally hearing Omega I understand and begin to scream like a fangirl in my minda, "HOLY SHIT, IT'S HIM?!!" , "This is my final gift to you directly from my broken hearth", "AHAAAA, HOLY SHIT, MEKHANEEEEE!!"
Omega is probably the MIND of Mekhan, and the facility is indeed built partly from its body, probably its empty torso, while the containment cell is its hollowed out heart. That's why it describes its heart as "broken".
HOOOOOLLLYYYY CRAAPPP!!! Man I really had no idea until that last statement from Omega, but oh my freaking goodness my jaw was on the floor!!! The CotBG/Sarkite dichotomy is one of my favorite parts of the whole SCP universe so man I absolutely LOVED this 😍😍
You know, in a lot of these stories about Mekhane (I mean, who else could it be?) a thought occurs: Mekhane is said to be a being of logic and facts. No emotions to cloud its vision or judgement. I appreciate the use of Control (The videogame) as illustration.
Very apt.
I wish the UIU was more like the FBC, that would make for some great stories, someone should fund the UIU more
Well control is inspired by scp and x files among others
Im gonna be annoying here but actchually, the FBC is based on the GOC.😃😃
@@themercenary6580 I'll admit that I haven't read every single document in the game as far as I know but I would say that they are closer to the UIU (but better) than the GOC. The GOC hates pretty much all anomalies and tries to destroy them but the FBC uses them all the time. They have one on staff, they quite literally derive the authority of Director from an anomaly gifted to them by extra dimensional being/s and if you ever levitate up to the top of the NSC power plant you'll see that they also have another one locked away there. The GOC would have tried to destroy all of these and they would have suffered every consequence if they tried (as shown in The Foundation DLC)
@@bigbear1293 Idk man I watched a playthrough of a guy that knows a lot about the subject (genuine researches the stuff, Lovecraftian horror fan, etc.) and he said that the developers said that tjey based the FBC on the GOC. But know that u mention it, it seems kinda stupid.🤔🤔😃
The Mercenary Yeah I know, well they don’t try destroying OOPs or altered items. I mainly made the UIU and FBC connection cause they’re American

13:06 "the hume levels have reached a point far from normal"
I laughed way too hard at that.
Explanation: humes are a measurement of reality, indeed normality with a certain level of humes producing what humans consider to be normal and could be marked as such on a hume meter. As such a high or low hume level is literally far from normal.
This might sound strange but I feel like what you wrote at the end there is better than any quote you gave so far:
"Either way, we're still here."

Although you've grown immensely since your earliest days, you have much room to grow. This was so amazing! I kept listening, totally confused, but the pieces slowly fit together near the end!!
Idk why but I’m gonna summarize me figuring it out because I felt like a detective lol
When I heard the humans near the cell were mutating hair, limbs, tumors, and becoming “stupider” and violent, it sounded like some Sarkic shit to me. Then I remembered that this ancient facility had green writing, which I knew was where the mekhanites came from.
Then the cell said “return to my domain” and I basically knew it was yaldabaoth.
Omega confirmed this for me by saying ”my children,” talking about their beautiful technology, and mentioning it’s broken heart
Tl;dr: I was so confused for the first like 15min but then I realized the cell seems Sarkic and everything fit so well together. My jaw dropped when I finally understood what was going on!
I think it's clear now, after a year or two of contemplation, that this is my single favorite TES video, if not my favorite SCP.
yesss thank you for covering this one!! im not sure why but this has always been one of my favorite SCPs :)
21:13 so it’s telling us to reject humanity. Embrace monke?
When I heard what the entity said and finally hearing Omega I understand and begin to scream like a fangirl in my minda, "HOLY SHIT, IT'S HIM?!!" , "This is my final gift to you directly from my broken hearth", "AHAAAA, HOLY SHIT, MEKHANEEEEE!!"
I particularly like the creativity here. Kudos to the author.
Omega is probably the MIND of Mekhan, and the facility is indeed built partly from its body, probably its empty torso, while the containment cell is its hollowed out heart. That's why it describes its heart as "broken".
Mekhane's words of love to ease your worried heart: 18:14

THE GREAT MEKHANE LIVES
You know, in a lot of these stories about Mekhane (I mean, who else could it be?) a thought occurs: Mekhane is said to be a being of logic and facts. No emotions to cloud its vision or judgement. And yet in every appearance it makes, it loves humanity so completely and absolutely it tore its own body to pieces to imprison Yaldabaoth forever.
Makes you think.
