as someone who just finished drying a large batch of catnip and needed something to do with it, thank you. I will now go back to making the catnip ball update: it's his favourite toy and I got a really cool slow-mo of him pouncing on it
Yes, I never forced it. I was holding the other end to go straight. Video look like I was pulling I wasn’t. It was speed up. Thanks, sorry for late comment. I don’t check much nowadays.
Thank you for this! What stitch are you using in the video and what stitch would you recommend for hand sewing? I need to make a sphere on a smaller scale.
@@space-beetles I was using the zigzag stitch in the video. With the hand sewing, you can use the same method in the video. Or I think it should work the same doing regular stitch. The zigzag way was just helping me to give it a more rounded curve effect. To help with the ball to appear round to say.
I love the design, I don't mean to criticize but i think a blanket stick would look better on the eyes, it prevents the edges from sticking out to much, and gives a slightly cleaner look.
About how big is this plush exactly with the dimensions you used? Im attempting to make one like a snowman but dont know how big this is so I can adjust the size for the head and body
@@donpalmer6288 I put the measurements for this ball size in the video. Try to double or triple the size. I don’t remember, but try copying the shape. But size them different. Is the best I can tell you. Sorry I’m not much help. It’s been awhile since I did this video.
Yeah I think so. It should work. You can try to make a small one first to see. And I believe it was fleece fabric I used in this video. I’m almost sure it was. It’s been awhile for me to remember. But I think so.
@@masondao5131 Aw that I don’t know. I’ve been on a lot of projects. I get tired, I might film other diy projects. That’s still up in the air. I’ll return idk when.
What if you want to attach it as a head to a body when sewing a plushie? Would you leave a bigger opening in the bottom so you can sew it when inside out? I’m having a really hard time making a plush.
🤔I would attach the head onto the body before stuffing them both. And leave an opening to the size you like when you completely attach both head and body together. Then flip the sewn part inside then start stuffing it. Once finished hem/sealed the opening to complete it.
Important question. Our sewing machine doesn't work with zigzag stitches... our project is pretty big (1 ft x 1 ft), is it possible to do this well withOUT zigzag stitching?
It’s an idea, if you use it and want a bigger size. Just Double your size. Try my measurements out. Hopefully, it’ll be better for you. This time around.
I didn't really needed this to make a ball, rather a round head, but still helped me :D

A little tip when you're using the sewing machine never ever force the fabric just let it do its thing and just lead it where it has to go

Hello!! I was just wondering why you use a zigzag stitch instead of a straight one?
So it can curve better when you stuff it. But you can also use the straight stitch if you like. Idk if it really make a big difference.
