    Hornby seems to have tamed these latest 0-4-0s. I purchased the BR blue version & even without modification they run pretty well over Insulfrog/right radius curves! Will be using some of your weathering style on mine.

      They do run rather better nowadays don't they? Hope your weathering turns out OK as it certainly improves the model, Regards Keith

    Great video Keith, I have 2 06 Shunters in my collection a BR blue and R2783 Pullman, the latter is running as I type this! pulling 2 tank wagons and a brake van. Your review is excellent, the loco looks fab! well done you!

      Thanks Nicholas, The Hornby 06 is a great shunter and as can be seen can run very slowly on straight DC, Regards Keith

    Warp Speed, Nice..! 😂
    I know that Hornby started production with Kids in Mind.
    But, Why did/do they keep producing these 'Pocket Rockets', decades later when all those Kids, like me.🤪
    Are Now looking for a More Realistic Speed.!
    HoHum Hornby..!
    Great Video & Great Work. Thanks for your Efforts in Sharing some Upgrade idea's.
    I have Subscribed, somewhat Late but better than Never. 🤗

      The newer starter locos , Pugs etc seem to have been regeared to run sensibly. I have several and use a Gaugemaster feed back controller which allows very slow running...something I really enjoy, Regards Keith

    Great stuff, Keith! Another enjoyable and useful video. Two questions: where did you purchase the flush glazing? And which controller are you using to achieve that smooth running? Cheers!

      @KV12543  2 года назад

      Thanks Andrew,....The glazing came from Peter's Spares and the controllers are Gaugemaster hand held units, Regards Keith

    Good effort Keith 👍
    Just need the awful huge D couplings sorting out now!😁

      When I started this layout I thought I would use Kaydees and converted some of the locos and stock. However I soon discovered that I don't do hardly any shunting so thought that for all future stock I would stick to tension lock couplings. Some are quite unobtrusive and some as you have noticed aren't! However they are not all fitted in the same way so replacing them would be almost as much work as fitting Kaydees....so I don't bother! Weathering helps a little though. Regards Keith

    Great work. How did you cure the warp speed or is this a newer model with improved gearing?

    • @KV12543
      @KV12543  2 года назад +1

      I think it may be the improved model but at full speed it still goes ridiculously fast. My Gaugemaster controllers tame it though and as you can see it will now crawl nicely. Keith

    Very nice project Keith. Any idea how much weight you added ? I'm also a fan of small shunting locos, lot's of fun for not much cash. Thanks for sharing, all the best, Kevin

      Hi Kevin, I don't know how much weight I added but the finished model weighs about 180 gms if that helps, Cheers, Keith
