This man is by far one of the best reviewers. Using the equipment where it should be tested, on the field. No Excell sheets, no repeating the same data that it's already on the manufacturer website. This dude is authentic.
This is right on time for me, I received my Z6III less than a week ago and began looking at making a rig kit for it and of course a shotgun mic would be a part of that. Your reviews are always as real as a review can be, thank you for GREAT content!
Bruh!!!! That helmet is hilarious 🤣 I need one of those! I just picked up the Comica a couple of weeks ago. Decent sound. Internal 32 bit recording is brilliant.
I have the Comica VM30. It doesn't have 32-bit audio, but it sounds really good. As far as range goes, I usually don't plan on recording a subject far away from the camera. Great comparison.
@@YoungBlaze that’s a super safe feature. If the mic dies, you’ll lose everything. Actually, in the pro audio market, that’s a common thing every 2gb to have a new recording 🙌🏾
Low Cut is actually really helpful, as a mixer, you don't always want the bass notes hitting the mic. You can get a cleaner signal by rolling off the low end...nothing really happens that we want to record under 120-240hz.
@@JustinPorterMedia I totally understand and agree that in post you have much more control. Just want to make it clear that pretty much no voice sits that low and if the goal is recording dialogue or vows, super handy to use as the bass notes that could be hitting the mic will ruin other aspects of the recording.
Bro great video and props on sticking it out with that helmet!! 🤣🤣 You're neck must be sore LOL! IMHO the only good vocal audio was unedited Audio Technica. I'm listening on my mackie studio monitors and even old trusty senn didn't sound right. The Comica is ok but value I might look elsewhere. Thanks for putting this together with such an in depth review!
@jpm I noticed the nikonz6ii has a timecode feature. Is that an internal timecode that can sync across nikon z bodies like the z6iii? Can you shed some light on nikon internal timecodes?
Is there a way to tell if this is really recording 32bit float. I’m new to video and audio but I seen in another review of this mic and it lost transmission way before the reviewer got to 200 meters
@@Eyeofkamauis there any test videos you’ve seen where it was tested? The battery life was false advertised and the transmission distance was also false advertised so I’m guessing this is only 24bit being marketed as 32bit
@ yeah, they’re here on youtube. And it’s definitely not 24bit. It’s 32bit with the same range as any other 32bit device. I own the mic, as well as the 32bit DJI Mic 2. No difference in dynamic range and it’s extremely difficult to get the audio to clip-which I’ve yet to experience any clipped audio. You can find videos of people yelling into the transmitter and it not being clipped when they bring the levels down, and it not being noisy when they bring whispers up. Also, I don’t know if his unit is compromised or what, but I’ve had no issues with battery life of neither the transmitter or receiver. I’ve ran 4 hour interviews and half-day documentary shoots with the equipment running nonstop and everything was fine.
@@Eyeofkamauyeah, I watched another review of this mic earlier and seen someone test it. Sounds like a really good mic. I intend on using this with the DJI’s for backup and I like that you can dual record in cam and 32bit internally
I’m just not sure about this one even though I’ve heard good stuff about it. As a wireless boom mic setup, I plan on using the Rode VideoMic NTG with the Rode Wireless PRO. This way I still have timecode and some of the same basic features as this mic.
I was going to get the MICs but they have connection problems and they tried to make another RUclipsr take down his review and that is the main reason Why I will not be buying these mics

Supper funny setup!!!! Made my day 🤣

I think the Window at the Chick joint didnt let the signal through
great video bro i definitely need a new mic for my youtube channel
It’s fire for RUclips honestly. That’s my favorite RUclips mic. It’s the new setup haha
I bought the vm20 and use one of my DJI mic 2 transmitters to make it wireless. The vm40 was out of my budget so my little hack works great for me.
Love it! Seems like it will be more worthwhile once it gets internal recording like my DJI mics. Very excited for this product though!
@@JoshuaHuffman02 it does have internal recording 😅
It records in 32bit float and transmits simultaneously 🔥🔥👏🏾
@ oh?! I missed that! I thought it was just the receiver that was recording.
Well now I might be making a purchase soon! Ha
I love these mics! i have them, i would say the one thing i HATE! if you record Internally 32bit float for over 1 hour it will split the files
