My grandmother's brother married the daughter of Stol, one of those exiled to Palau. They were welcomed to become family with people in Aimeliik. My father spoke of Stol as being a very brave man, big and strong, tattoos all over his body. No nonsense attitude. When I was young, all I knew of Pohnpei was the story of Sokehs Rock and how brave the people of that place are.

Sokeh's Uprising needs to be in the history books, its an important history that pohnpeians must not forget. And I agreed 100 percent, it needs to be a holiday for pohnpei in remembrance of those men who died bravely
