I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Kannon Karter Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A few things to consider... Very heathy roots in the hanging basket, but you're going to want to consider breaking them up if they're extremely compacted. If your new transplant is going to be somewhere hot and dry, wait a couple of day before cutting the plants back. If your planter already contains a time release fertilizer, it is not necessary to add additional miracle grow. Especially not doubling. You'll be sending most of the fertilizer out the bottom of the planter.
Now that I've planted my whiskey barrel according to instructions, I have a question- how often do I water it after the initial planting? Never had a planter with just peat moss before.
I don't know how he gets his barrels to last 15 years. Mine rot out on the bottom completely in a just a couple years. And that's with holes drilled in the bottom and the barrel raised off the ground with bricks. So proper drainage and nothing preventing the bottom from draining. I may try his side drilling technique but that would still allow standing water to sit in the bottom without draining.
This thread is really old but maybe somebody will see it?? Anybody know (or can venture a good guess) what size drill bit that is? This is the first time I've seen somebody make drainage holes on the sides. I have added drainage in the bottom and raised the barrels, so no direct contact with the ground, but still get bottom rot after a few years, definitely well before 15 years.
How would you plant dwarf fruit trees like peach? Do you need to put wire mesh to cover the drainage holes? do you know of good organic time release fertilizer I can use? Good idea on drilling side hole to prevent too much rain; though, we don't get much rain here in Southern CA but sometimes we do. Thanks
Very nice demo, but you talk to fast...for these seniors ears. LOL you said to use peat moss i believe, but that did not look like peat moss to me..i thought P M was a brown/reddish color and ver acidic, besides that are bad for certain plants.
Thanks for posting this video, I really liked it. Way informative and to the point. I hope you will make many more in the future!
Thank you so much for all this instruction, I'm so glad I googled this!!

Do they rot, fall apart or disintegrate after a couple years?
Great tips
I’ll have to try this in the US. Does it do well with the rain in Ireland?

You can try applying a couple of coats of linseed oil.
@@ngocbui3761 thanks for your suggestion!
Add rocks to the bottom before adding soil. Smaller rocks that is for drainage.
