Rosanne Cash Interview

Singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash earned three Grammy Awards for “The River & The Thread.” The Americana album-which evokes the physical, emotional, and musical landscape of the American South-features original songs by Cash and her guitarist husband John Leventhal. John Mark Rafacz speaks with Cash about the journeys she and Leventhal, who produced the CD, took in search of inspiration. Cash, who performs music from the album on April 9, 2015, at Penn State’s Eisenhower Auditorium, recalls the people and the indelible images that helped to shape the songwriting. She also discusses the unwavering connection she feels for her ancestral homeland. An excerpt of Cash’s “A Feather’s Not a Bird,” from the album “The River & The Thread,” enhances the webcast.
