- They stood tall on the wings of their dreams and vowed that nothing was gonna stop them. And that was exactly the way it was for eight seasons. ABC sitcom Perfect Strangers, that ran from 1986 to 1993 chronicling the relationship of Larry Appleton and his distant cousin Balki Bartokomous, captured the hearts of viewers right from the very start.

“Don't be ridiculous” 😂 was one of my favorite lines said by Balki
😂
Great show. Balki was hilarious. Crazy what a ripple effect this show had: helped to launch TGIF AND spun off to Family Matters
Well as 3 years it was a big build up
TGIF in the late 1980's through the 1990's was awesome.
Perfect strangers was a staple of my childhood. I miss those days.
Those 80s and 90s sitcom these songs were amazing!
I remember seeing "Beverly Hills Cop" when it first came out in 1984 and its star, a young Eddie Murphy, was a tour de force in it. However, Bronson Pinchot as, "Serge," actually stole that scene with Murphy. I think that was the blueprint for his "Balki" character on "Perfect Strangers."
Omg! One of my favorite shows!
Me and my BFF used to do the dance of joy!😅😅😅😅😅
The dance of joy?! Yaaaaaas
The "Perfect Strangers" theme was my ringtone once upon a time.
Ok everybody:
"Standing TALLLLLL..on the wings of my dreams..."
"Rise and fall, on the wings of my dream..."
@@JuicyPopEntertainment Great job as usual 💯🎯
❤😂❤
@@JuicyPopEntertainment2:28 nice 👍🙂.
It’s my life and my dreams…and nothings gonna stop me now!!
One of my first memories of ANYTHING was watching "Perfect Stranger" from my high chair and calling it "The Balki Show," but apparently I couldn't say 'Balki' so I called it the 'Bow-key Show.'
Yes! This was my show back in the day
The best thing about perfect strangers is that it gave birth to Family Matters
I see your point but I respectfully disagree. Family matters is good but I still enjoy the theme song for Perfect Strangers to this day and love it soooo much.
True Story
When great sitcoms gave birth to even GREATER spinoffs! ❤
That’s a matter of opinion! I strongly disagree, but I do love both!
It's a shame that we never had a Cahcago crossover
This was a underrated show, can u do a mr Belvedere plz
I'm loving these deep dives on sitcoms and dramas. Thank you Juicy Pop for all your hard work 😊
I couldn't imagine Louie Anderson as Larry
my brother and i would do the dance of joy all the time.
Baking bibibakis was one of my favorite episodes. ❤
Great story on Perfect Strangers
Perfect Strangers a.k.a Family Matters the Prequel lol ❤
I vaguely remember this show! It came out when I was a baby, but it was still running when I was in grade school. My older relatives used to sing the theme song a lot. This is another one I need to watch. Thanks for the cool videos! Keep them coming! 😀
I remember Bronson being EXTRA handsy on the Surreal Life. Look up the episode with Dickinson. She eventually had to tell him that she was molested To get him to stop touching her. So I absolutely believe the actress who spoke up about him sexually harassing her.
So where was #timesup and #metoo when this happened?
Ewww. That's unfortunate.
@@JuicyPopEntertainment0:34 so do I.
Me too. You can see him feeling on her bottom in the episode the horn blows at midnight
EFunkRock-Surreal Life season 6 was in 2003. Way before the metoo movement.
Good Video👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿Balki Been My Dude Since Beverly Hills Cop.
Could you do one about The original Tiny Toon Adventures or Animaniacs?
You always have the best backstory I mean great vintage TV shows I love your channel keep up the good work I have a I have a request can you do one about the TV show Dinosaurs and was also part of the TGIF lineup back in the day
Stay tuned!
@@JuicyPopEntertainment0:53 good 💯😊.
Do Mamas Family!
YES!!!
Please!!!
I've been loving your channel since the beginning, and you're doing a great job. Keep it going! Can I also make a request for TV shows? Can you guys do some episodes on some of the Aaron Spelling dramas such as Charlie's Angels, Dynasty, Melrose Place, and Charmed? I would love to hear your perspective about those shows.
And another one!
Keep it coming,Madam Juicy Pop!
I’ve been following you since day one. I’m loving your content.
Thank you so much for your support!🥰
@@JuicyPopEntertainment2:07 you too.
@@JuicyPopEntertainment Actually Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn Baker did shoot a scene for the Family Matters pilot crossover. It was a phone call but it got cut and wasn't shown in the episode. ☎🤗📺🎬
@@SuperMarioBrosIIIwhy it has to be a phone call ?
@@JuicyPopEntertainmentcan you make a video about Cheers, Frasier, Seinfeld, Married With Children, Friends ?
It was the happy dance for me.. miss that show #Netflix #paramountplus #hulu.. is show streamed yet lol
Robespierre-Boinki Bartokomous. I remember that 30 years later.
This was well thought out and executed perfectly . I also enjoyed your video on Hangin With Mr Cooper !!!
Love this show juicy pop ❤thanks for all your hard work biggest fan 📺
Juicy Pop! Let's Get to the Root 🎉
love this show when I was younger
Juicy pop Mondays 💃🏾💃🏾✨❤️
God knows exactly what I need! AMEN. Praise God.
All these years (since the 1990s) I didn't know the reason why they showed the Winslows riding their bikes across that bridge in the opening credits. Turns out that was a homage to Perfect Strangers, the show they were spun off from. Thanks Juicy Pop for that information starting at 10:08.
My silly ass still know the happy dance they use to do 😂😂❤
I agree, your ass is rather silly
Frickin' Loved this show!!!!!
🦺Balki: Cousin Now we so happy, we do the dance of Joy! Didi didi didi didi didi hey, hey, hey, hey, hey hey, hey!🕺🤗🙋👍
Just WOW ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Could you do one about Sesame Street or Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
I loved Perfect Strangers it was hilarious and relatable at least in my life, having a distant cousin from Kenya.
Loved this show
The dance of joy!
This was my Sister’s fave show
Pinchot admitted In interviews that he didnt much care for imput from guest directors while working on Perfect Strangers.
He was pretty much insistent on. Just doing the character his way.
As for what one of the cast members stated in the video, i hadnt heard anything about that.
If true, it sounds disturbing
The child actor is the little girl from Curly Sue.
There is one show u forgot to mention that was on abc tgif hanging with Mrs Cooper.
The girl that played Jennifer was the daughter of Mr. Whipple from the Charmin commercials
The bibbi-babka episode? Everything
When you’re rolling out the dough…..
I loved this show. The cousins were hilarious!
3:39 I miss another show.
4:05 perfect strangers.
Can you do a video on Blossom?
This was my show😂
TGIF Two Goats In Fresno
Bronson Pinchot is stronger than he looks. I don't think I could hold a full grown man in my arms or pick them up be the arm pits like that scene. as far as the assaults in this day and age I'm surprised he wasn't cancelled.
I loved Perfect Strangers and I liked Family Matters until it was taken over by Steve Urkel. I wish Family Matters could’ve stayed what it was before it became all about that character. That is probably the reason I like Perfect Strangers more cuz it pretty much stayed the same throughout its run and no one character became the focal point of the show.
But Harriet at that time really lacks the atmosphere of The Winslows, Urkel save the show's decline.
You're a moron! Family Matters was dull until Steve Urkel came on there. That was the best decision they ever made putting Steve Urkel on there. I don't think the show would have lasted as long as it did if they wouldn't have put him on there.
NEVA heard of dis Show.
Lol @ "The Dance Of Joy" 10:56
Harriet!!!
One of the few sitcoms I actually thought was funny.
Could you do one on the Looney Tunes?
Why did have a two bedroom apartment if he was single
@annearly3200 Yeah they never explained that LOL!
I had a two-bedroom apartment when I was single. One to sleep in and one to put my clothes away in. 🤷🏻♀️
@@marjoriemorris5849 This was Chicago the girls above him had shared to afford the rent
What was the stuffed toy lamb's name again?

Twinkie, not Twinkle
People watched a lot of mind trash.
🌆Get out of the City!🐑🗽🌃🛥
📼Actually that wasn't The Winslows riding there bikes in Chicago as Reginal VelJohnson revealed that he's never been to Chicago so the far away shot isn't the same people on the bicycles. 🏙🚲🤔📺
This was the show that spun off Family Matters 🫶🏽🙌🏽
