Just in case someone is legit curious why they give steroids for bronchitis, it's to open your airways. Once those steroids kick in, yeah you'll be high, but those airways will be wide open so you can breathe.
So yeah, your doctor in that situation is basically a legalized drug dealer 👌

@@nursejoy25 As someone who is asthmatic and has had bronchitis several times, you're right. They're not anabolic steroids, not even close. They're a different kind of steroid, they're meant to help open your airways (side effects are lots of energy, increased heart rate, general steroid stuff), very strong stuff. It's generally a 5-7 day thing, high dose on day one, lower on day 2-3 and just one pill for days 4-7. The increased heart rate helps move the antibiotics through your system faster too, along with the breathing thing.
Also, fun fact, the medicine in asthma inhalers is a type of steroid. Generally it's Albuterol, however if you have an allergy to it there is Lev-Albuterol. Those are classified as Bronchodilators.
